Agree, some of Chris’s best material on that album. You will not be disappointed. (Not so) Fun fact, on it’s original release, the album was called Euphoria Morning. It was only later that it was rereleased in 2015 as Euphoria Mourning, which is what he originally intended it to be called. A pretty grim insight into his personal issues. RIP CC ☮️
@@moonylovesmusic you generally set the microphone so the average level of singing is well audible, which means that you have to back up from the microphone for your loudest singing.
@@JakeWildMusic Compression handles the job alright. @@OffByOneSecurityyes, but that was at his later acoustic shows. When he was younger and sang with SG he sang very loud. Check out Rick Beato's interview with Kim Thayil and Krist Novoselic. Michael Beinhorn has said many times how CC blew out microphones during the Superunknown sessions.
He could do Robert Plant in his youth and could do Johnny Cash at his late. Chris could sing every tune he would like. That's why he is the best for me. The best of all time ❤
My soul still feels like it got ripped out of my body since he passed..There's not a human being that has influenced me to sing better or live a better life than this man has. Thank you Chris for being my hero and someone I can look up to. The world still misses you too much
THE G.O.A.T Cornell was one of the greatest vocalists in rock, and in music generally, he hit several octaves, had technique, volume, depth, range and mastery. HIS VOICE WAS LIKE A FORCE OF NATURE.

My first concert was Chris Cornell solo in 2006 when I was in high school, and saw Soundgarden 3 times after that. Sadly, the last time I saw him was in Indianapolis 7 days before he left us. I took My mother to that show, a week later he was gone. I left work and went straight to her house and we cried our eyes out. We miss you Chris
Keep in mind, a lot of the early 80s stuff where he was able to maintain crazy output and ranges destroyed his voicebox (luckily it healed). So when I hear that live 80s stuff it kind of saddens me that he was destroying himself. But would heal, and actually become better. Kind of like rebuilding a broken guitar, and tuning it to sound perfect
Y’all can name whoever you want. CC had no equal. Who else could sing like he did on BMF, Euphoria Mourning, Scream, Higher Truth and then rap/sing with Audioslave on RATM songs? ZERO would even attempt what CC did, let alone pull it off. LONG LIVE KING CORNELL.
@@ThePsychedelicCinemaLayne had advantages over Chris. More power in his chest voice (when he wasn’t dying from H), more dramatic vibrato, more agile vocal runs. Just because Layne wasn’t singing ultra high all the time doesn’t mean he wasn’t on Chris’ level
The thing about Chris I never get is he always autotuned and laywered the hell out of his vocals especially during the Soundgarden days. I now prefer their songs with just a basic vocal take. The more melodic stuff on Superunknown and Louder Than Love.
??? There was no autotune on any Soundgarden recording. Layering was so that he could harmonize. You're delusional if you think you hear autotune on any of it. Maybe you're confused by the way Chris would sort of slide into notes, and sometimes intentionally did a ululation effect with sustained notes?
Absolutely was a God of the front men. If anyone has him singing any Ted Nellie song from Jesus crist superstar?? I always thought that he would have made a great Jesus 👍
It's hard to play and sing Soundgarden songs at the same time. Lots of weird timings and tricky riffs. It deff takes focus away from the voice to do both at a pro level. When you just do one you can focus your whole attention on it.

The greatest male rock vocalist. He had many vocal phases, but he was definitely at his peak with Euphoria Mourning.
I’ve never even heard of that honestly
@ThatGuyJeremy It was a very personal album for him. He said he was probably at the worst state of his life during that time.
@@timetravelingoldman6839 I'll have to listen to it then, thank you for the recommendation!

Bruce dickinson freddie mercury many others have far superior pipes 😂😂😂
Chris Cornell and Layne Staley are my favorites
always love how he has to sing far away from the mic because of how loud his vocals are
Is that the reason ? I always wonderded why he did that ?

Looked so content in his earlier performances like he was playing for pleasure no pressure sweet dreams vocal wizard❤
Seattle definitely his muse❤

the voice of an angel

Fly free, fly high into eternity, Chris. 🌈🏵
I want this man back on this Earth! Same as Dime from Pantera, Layne from AiC, Prince, Miles Davis and every artist that was irreplaceable!
I also love his low tones. To me "Like Suicide" it's quite an amazing vocal performance by him!
My God! I still can't believe what we lost! Absolutely crushing!
I’m elated that I got to see him twice, live, in a super small venue. THE greatest rock singer in history. Period.
FKn legend.
PJ 20 year anniversary is another great example.
