This video brings me back. I had an 84 just like this. Mine was an SR5, but same color exterior and interior. It was a good truck that would get you there, as long as you weren’t in a hurry to get there.
That interior is clean. Also the deck lamp only works if the headlights are on. I am a sucker for sr5 options. I started with a base model and I added all the fancy sr5 stuff to mine.
I know what you mean, I've been in a truck with power doors & all the options and it felt like luxury. Thanks, I'm going to test that again!
I just found a Sr5 86 ex cab 2wd at pull a part..
I’ve grabbed the tilt the door panels,the tach the dome lights the bronze tinted windows.. steering column cover and it was in great shape even the dash, very rare stuff.now both of my trucks have tilt now ..
And sr5 embroidered in the bucket seats they were brown in color
nice truck, my grandpa has a 1985 ln56 diesel model, that has the exact same interior color, and it has a one big seat and not 2 seperate seats. i might get the toyota as a first car

Love the twin stick shifter. I used to use low range in 2WD to park my trailers in the back yard with out tearing up the grass.
That's pretty much what I use mine for these days, driving around the yard.

New to your channel and enjoying your content. In Australia the old model Hilux is becoming expensive. I have had many of these 4x4s over the years but nune of them rust the way yours do in Australia unless there beach cars. I'm impressed by your willingness to fix such rusty cars in Australia now one would fix cars this poor in condition. Looking forward to your next video and future builds.
10 years ago these trucks were dirt cheap here in the US, but then many of them rotted away and a lot of 4x4's were ran into the ground. Now everyone values them and they are expensive. I enjoy working on them, thanks for watching!

Gracias, estos camiones son muy fiables si se mantienen. Algunos de los motores 3.0 v6 tenían problemas con las juntas de culata. Todos ellos tienen problemas de óxido si se conducen con sal para carreteras. Por lo demás grandes camiones. Nunca he tratado de ajustar el aire acondicionado, ya que mi camioneta ya venía con él desmontado.
Maybe you can help me I have a 1985 Toyota pickup truck the model you guys are talking about I broke a fan belt on a replaced it and then after I replaced the truck will not start it all I put the key in the nation turned it I replaced the ignition and stuff and it still will not start
Does it even crank or do anything when you turn the key?
I have a 94. Great trucks. My first was a 85.

I think I got the last inclinometer w/alt meter in perfect condition a couple years ago on ebay for $500...it is perfect but could have got one in 1987 for $50....But you still have 2 working 4WD lights...I need the switch for transfer....imposable to find.....That is a very nice clean truck...saw a stock 85' at Mecum auction on TV and it sold for $50,000,,,Do you have a video about removing the excab rear interior plastic panels? I need to do headliner and have no idea how they are held in and sure dont want to break them....
I have an 86 4Runner, I’m the original owner. The 4WD light on the dash went out years ago and have been trying to figure out why for a long time. No one has told me it’s a switch on the trans nor how to fix it. Now that I know what it is maybe I can get it fixed.
@@joem2829 Its a matter of finding the switch...Ive been looking for years....How many miles ya got...Im original owner of a 87 4x4 pu and am pushing 1/2 million miles....If I ever find a switch Ill post it here....
@@joem2829 Check your switch.....it maybe wiring...Switch should ground when in 4x4...
I've taken them out before on other trucks, but I don't have a video. Basically just remove everything in the way and be careful because they get brittle.
You have to turn on your headlight first then hit the deck light switch. I had a kill switch tied to my deck lights. So a thief would have to know how to turn on the deck light before it would even start.

Head lights have to be on for the rear cargo light to work
