Actually what happened was. Rama asks hanuman are you my devotee or ,or you my survent. Hanuman replies him saying that if I am your survent I should serve you,if I am a devotee there is no difference you and me. Rama get so much happiness after hearing this he hugs him.

Hanuman is the god of power, force. You feel the force while thinking about him. All the gods have their own characteristics and all of them are different avatars of lord Shiva. Shiva is the infinite of infinity like universe. Hanuman Ji characterises power which we need to live.
I think there's a deeper source of his powers and that was his devotion to Ram. Devotion drove Hanuman and powers were mere consequence of that pure devotion. This is wonderful. I found the song Shree Hanuman Chalisa and feel so happy when I listen to it. My heart feels happy and open when I hear the song. Its so good to see you know so much about of Hanumanji.Yes you correctly told that Hanumanji removes darkness from our life and you need to surrender to him.He give us courage and confidence. It's true that reciting the Hanuman Chalisa without understanding its meaning and without trying to inculcate its teachings into our behavior may not fully honor its significance. Some of the qualities such as "Eknishta bhakti" (unwavering devotion), "आतुर" (eager and enthusiastic), "Mahavir" (mighty and courageous), and "Parakrami" (brave and valorous), are all admirable attributes that we can aspire to cultivate within ourselves.
Hanumanji's devotion to Lord Rama, his selflessness, courage, and unwavering commitment to his duties serve as powerful examples for all of us . His actions, as depicted in the Ramayana, emphasize the importance of loyalty, humility, and service to others. The instances of Hanumanji bringing the Sanjeevani herb without any hesitation or concern about the challenges involved, as well as his fearless leap across the ocean to deliver Sri Ram's ring, demonstrate his dedication, focus, and willingness to go to great lengths to fulfill his Guru’s tasks. Hanumanji is Tattpar and आतुर in doing his “गुरु कार्य”. In Similar manner we should be Quick and आतुर for doing “गुरु कार्य”or fulfilling the responsibilities. It reminds us that true devotion lies in surrendering to your bosses or “Guru”. Leaving your bosses for selfish needs is not understanding Hanumanji.
This means not only reciting the verses but also understanding its meanings and applying them in our thoughts, words, and actions. We should imbibe those qualities in us.

Hanuman is one of 7 chiranjeevis ( the death-defeating beings ). As he is still in his physical form, on this same physical plane we live, it's quite easy to feel his energy comparatively other gods Ganesh, Devi etc. but you must have faith in Ram and complete devotion, love and faith towards Hanuman. राम राम सीता राम 🤍
This is wonderful. I found the song Shree Hanuman Chalisa and feel so happy when I listen to it. My heart feels happy and open when I hear the song. When he describes the feeling of love, that it what I feel. I know virtually nothing about Hanuman intellectually (which is why I am here, trying to learn), but I know that he makes me feel happy.

Shri Hanuman is the foremost devotee of Lord Rama ! NoT only that, Hanuman is a part of Lord Shiva (Hanuman is one of the Rudras). One of the easiest way to please Hanuman is to chant Raam-naam, especially the mantra : Shree Raam Jai ram jai jai Raam.
FunFact: Tulsidas Ji wrote Hamnuman chalisa while he was being held captive by Aurangzeb. In the Hanuman chalisa, there is a stanza in which the distance between the earth and sun is mentioned ' Yuga-sahastra-yojan par bhanu, leeliyo tahi madhur phal janu' . You guys can google and check for yourself.
When Mother Sita saw Hanuman's devotion towards Lord Raam, she blessed him and gave him the boon that he would be immortal.
Also, one who reads hanuman chalisa with good intentions, gets the blessings of not only Hanuman, but also from Sita-Raam and Shiva-Parvati. Jai shree Raam :)

You rightly said- 'that your thoughts, they don't represent you even a bit'. When you pray, ask for strength to fight this ocd. Try listening to some chants or music that relaxes you.
If you are looking for a spiritual healer, then you can look for them over the internet; there are plenty of options available. But my first advice to you would be to consult a psychologist or some related therapist. It often helps to discuss these things with a professional and you can be sure that they will keep all the conversation to themselves (confidential).
