Consumption is of lesser importance with 800V charging, going from 20% to 80% in 15 minutes.
Audi A6 e-tron Sportback will be my new car. Sedans are much more effective EVs
407 km or 253 miles isn't all that great these days. 226 Wh/Km or 363 Wh/Mi while a little better than the Q8, the range is about the same range as the Q8. I would have expected better considering this is a new model. Any hints on V2H capability? These cars are nice to drive but falling behind on efficiency and features like V2H.
Yeah I agree! You can see from my test of the Q8 E-Tron 55 it only got about 6 miles less range than this Q6 E-Tron Quattro, so this car should have done better range wise!
@@KrisRifa Q8 does have a 14 kwh larger battery
@@Erigion 11.1kWh bigger usable
lets wait for a new macan and hope that consumption will be better
@@robertcoufal7710macan has good drag coefficient, etron q6 has bad - does not matter much when "sunday driving" or around town. 🤷
For me q6 not worth price. Have q4 and at 6ft 3 have good room front and back. Expected q6 at 20 to 30k dearer would be bigger but it's not. Q6 and Q4 as well will find it hard to get below 20kwh per 100km at motorway when others can achieve that.
This car is far too expensive for what it offers.
Cheap Macan EV.
This is the biggest problem with this car. A 12.1-meter turning radius. No rear-axle-steering. :(
Like a Model 3...same Bad turning circle and no one cares .
If people just understand the concept of WLTP they wouldn’t have to act ‘all surprised’.
These real range tests are also very dubious in outcome. Sure similar conditions like wind, temperature etc help but still there are differences.
In Norway for instance there is more height difference then in my flat Holland. Thus the ‘real range test’ will come up with different results.
If you understand the concept of WLTP then all these tests aren’t needed.
The lowest elevation on this route is 122m and the highest is at 220m, so only 100m difference over almost 200km. So it is basically flat.
"If you understand the concept of WLTP then all these tests aren’t needed." That's not true, these tests are absolutely necessary because high speeds effect EV differently, something the WLTP test don't account for. Look at the chart, the best EVs manage over 80% of their WLTP rated range in summer, while others (like this Q6 E-Tron) barely manage 60%. So there is a huge difference. The Audi Q8 E-Tron 55 WLTP rated range is 492km, while the Q6 E-Tron Quattro is 615km, but in this test there is only 10km difference. So these test are absolutely necessary.
@@KrisRifaq8 gets away with it because of better drag coefficient and because async motor gets more efficient at higher speeds (which wltp single number does not reveal).
On the other hand of the spectrum my Enyaq driving will be average of 13.9 kWh/100 km at 28 km/h after 7000 km since last November.
Q8 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron were tested at way more mild temperatures though. Talking 10C difference and way less wind. This can make a 5-10% consumption difference.
Ideal temperatures are 18-20c. Anything colder means you're running the heater and anything warmer you're the AC. I'd say SQ6 conditions where better, but considering consumption Q8 E-Tron conditions are pretty similar except for wind. That extra wind may account for 1-2% at most though.
I never clicked on a video so fast 😆
wth man... my car was advertized with a 400km range, and guess what! Its range is 400km.
Do you share the excel comparison anywhere?
I would like to know what Audi gives as an explaination for this bad range. Especially compared to the SQ6. That had way bigger and wider tires and it also has bigger fenders so.... This should have close to 500km. Audi better have something to say about this.
Eh... the Audi Q7 e-tron delivers a pretty respectable range, and you are framing it as a bad range... lol
@@anoniem9518 I assume you mean Q6. as percentage of WLTP it’s pretty bad.
Would you pick the Q6 e-tron or a Q8 e-tron ? Are navigation system the same ? I know screens are different
I personally would not even think about Q8...an awful fat beast...drives like a pregnant hippo...with ancient technic compared to Q6.
Obvious not that much more range, but charges twice as fast.
If the money is close, Q8 is my choice.
@@josefv-y8m in fact Q8 chargers with higher speed 10-100%. Charging the SQ6 to 100% is quite painfull
Q8 is so thirsty charging will not make up for it, it's way more expensive to run and it is both built on an old architecture as well as has old, way worse infotainment on the Q8. The world of EVs is changing so fast and the Q8 has not really changed since it was introduced as the etron in 2019. Don't get the 6 year old car!
@@josefv-y8mBut the Q8 suspension has improved?!
Quiet good compared to a polestar 4 under comparable conditions.
