- SCP-882 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as A Machine.
SCP 882 appears to be a random assembly of gears, cables, pulleys, screws, and belts, all made of an amalgam of various metals. Any metal touching the SCP882 will become permanently affixed to it, and over a period of a few days becomes a new part of the object. What is this strange object? Where did it come from? And what connection does it have to the old gods and the infamous Group of Interest (GOI) the Church of the Broken God?

actually he was a chill god. Yaldabaoth was a Karen about it so he killed himself to seal her.
I can't remember the exact SCP number, but they foundation discovered an underground facility, that despite being carbon dated to be over millions of years old, housed technology far more advanced than anything created by man. The AI that operated it, was subtly implied to be Mekhane himself, and he was imprisoning an unknown powerful entity(implied to be Yaldabaoth) in his facility.
He lamented not being able to see humanity and how we're doing. He was pretty chill, and the church's belief that he'd turn all of humanity into living machines, was entirely wrong. All he wanted was for humanity to be free to think for themselves, and choose their own path, instead of living as mindless animals like Yaldabaoth wanted.

@@michgaming-lx7id no. It's not a counter. The entry for SCP-217 specifically says to NOT let anything suspected to be infected with The Clockwork Virus come into contact with SCP-882. We don't know what might happen if 882 comes into contact with Mekhane's Blood... but it might just be what the Heart needs to beat again, and to become functional.

You know, the more I learn about Mekhane, the less he seems like a bad guy. It's not his fault that his unbelievably powerful body parts are lethal to squishy humans and that violent cultists have started worshipping him. Perhaps his revival would only be beneficial to humanity.

I thought that the grinding sounds that afflict those due to 882 would’ve been due to the iron in their bodies slowly being attracted towards 882. It doesn’t really make any sense, but I thought it would’ve been cool.

@@stygianmoon1716 all iron is iron. They may be chemically bonded into compounds with different properties, but you can always extract the iron and it will always have the same exact properties as the next iron (if they have the same number of subatomic particles)

I remember this as being a heart that was built by man to complete the broken god, but it was(is) flawed and drove the god insane. At the end of the incident, Mexico gained a long peninsula called Baja California. I believe this was all part of the Ouroboros Cycle Canon.

Thought this was the Factory version of Mekhane heart that fell into the sea in the 001 TwistedGears-Kaktus Proposal. Was never really sure if it was his heart corrupted by the Factory (The Dark Fae) or just something made by the factory.
Just keep it in a non-metal tank and feed it a screw every once in a while (if the "hunger" of the machine is consistent)
They already found a way to shrink it one time, they can do that again, no?

here is an idea... if it feeds on metal get small bits of it to shut it up rather than 1 whole item of metal break it into smaller pieces reducing how much is put in so that way you dont waste everything in the area...

Bathe the metal in a solvent like 1 1 1 Tricloroethane and THEN bathe it in saline... Or even just regular water. Or just humid air, and it will go SUPER rusty. I used to work with the stuff. Dip a rusty screwdriver in it and it would go SUPER shiny and clean, but within minutes that same screwdriver would not only rust again, it would be rustier than it ever had been. It would go COMPLETELY orange with rust, even if you didn't get it wet.
