What would you have asked James Workshop?
Were you expecting the backlash from so many people who purchased FW/Relic units exclusively for 40K use at retail prices?
For matched/competitive play, will the cycle of changing up the missions and secondaries still be a 6 month cycle, and will those missions be released for free like the core rules?
"What is the average airspeed of an unladen swallow regardless of national origin?"
How do they truly justify dumpstering/legendfying entire swathes of supremely popular and competitive models, not so long after making them available as plastic kits?

Can someone please make a supercut of all the scenes of Adrian just smiling and nodding?
Isn't that what we all just watched?
Pretty funny

I was wondering why Grim did that.... ;)
The nodding along made me laugh alot for some reason haha
One day GW will let you ask your own questions.
Hahahaha
No, no they wont
I think this interview doubled as a class on active listening lol
"Nodding with Adrian" doesn't have the same ring I guess. 😢
Adriantop Nodans
Luv the collab with Nick of Play on. Great energy all around! 🤙🏼😎
that book toss cut was so clean 🤣
Thank you so much for the interview!
Can we make Deathguard feel like Deathguard?
LOL NO
Can you ask them why the new tank kit they made less than a year ago and sold under the premise it’d have 40k rules is now legend’d?
Also would like to know how they think this ok. From an ethics and company perspective not gameplay/health of the game wise.
Love the Shots taken at Jon in the end there.
Would have preferred a bit more detail in the questions but ya did good this time Adrian.
Surprised you didn't make Steven do this to try and get preferential treatment, that and ya gotta put the new guy to work. ;)
So I just finished up watching the Stu Black interviews on Play On Tabletop, Tabletop Titans, Tabletop Tactics, Vanguard Tactics, and MWG Studios. I'm going to cross-post my responses. I got into 40k late 3rd edition and played through the end of 5th edition. I wanted a simpler game and 6th and 7th seemed to get more complex. I liked where they went with 8th and then 9th and though I only dabbled casually. Over the years I have invested in anywhere between 1000 and 5000 points worth of at least 12 different factions. So I'm anxious to dive back into 10th edition this summer and make it one my core games to play. That said, I have questions about what I've reading and hearing. "free rules and indexes at launch" This sounds great, I look forward to playing multiple factions in smaller games as we all learn 10th edition together. I like the concept of Combat Patrol, set faction-specific army lists that allows us to dabble in other factions and have "ready-to-go" forces for small pick-up games. What I don't think I like is the impression that "regular 40k" and "combat patrol" will have different Data Sheets for the same units. So game to game we have to remember that Unit XYZ has less/different abilities when playing Combat Patrol etc. I suppose that's less of an issue than dealing with how Unit XYZ plays in "regular 40k" vs "kill team" since the rules for each game are so different.
If I'm understanding the Detachment system correctly (and possibly envisioning what I hope it will be like)... I want to believe that the detachment system will work like some factions in 5th edition where your choice of Character/HQ unlocked other parts of the army. Like in the 2003 Codex Eye of Terror, Lost in the Damned list you could run a combined Chaos Space Marines, Traitor Guard and Chaos Daemon list. In my experience it was not overpowered. Depending on which HQ you took would decide which kinds of units counted as Troops vs Elites/Fast/Heavy. So you could build Chaos marines with a splash of traitor guard and chaos daemons etc. This is what I hope the new Detachment system to be like. Take a named/unnamed Terminator HQ Character and Terminators become 'battle line' units, Bike HQ Character makes Bikes 'battle line' units etc.
As for the Data sheets, I hope the free-to-play Index information remains updated. Sure, I may end up buying Codexes for my armies when they come available, but I would like to play my 12+ factions on the cheap for as long as possible. Stu Black said in one of these episodes that the Codex detachments/data sheets will always be the newer ones. That's logical, but due to the power of the internet, that should mean that the free-to-play Index/data sheets should be just as easy to keep updated and available on the web (quarterly). Without getting into the issues of copyright, I would love to see GW maintain all their free 10th edition free-to-play Index/data sheet info in the same format as wahapedia.ru/wh40k9ed/factions/space-marines/Intercessor-Squad. I don't want to have to buy/download a phone app for current information. I don't want to have to download and print PDF files every time they make a change. Ideally I just go to GW's always-updated 10th edition data sheet library and print whichever ones I need for my next game.
Now I need to get back to making my table, terrain and models are dusted off and ready for 10th edition to release so I can start making lists and rolling dice.
Combat Patrol datasheets won't be too different compared to regular 40k, it's more slimmed down version,so I don't think it would pise some issues.Detachment system is most similar to Armies of Renown of 9th edition, it won't be tied for character unlocking stuff like in 5th.
Great interview, thanks to both!!
Tell them to make a lot of the boxes because people want them!!!!!
Oh the Nurgle green spill!
So far I'm mostly pumped about 10th but the one pattern I've noticed is how there seems to be a concerted effort to tie a lot of power to proccing on rolling a 6 while also moving a lot of previously d3+3 damage weapons back to D6 or D6+1. This concerns me because it seems like the game is swinging further towards dice representing massive swings in damage output and a reduction in reliability which is really unfortunate. Personally I don't find fishing for 6s all day a particularly fun thing in general.
The only other concern I have is the counter- offensive is still 2cp. I found towards the end of 9th that because CP was so much less abundant that in melee vs melee games I felt forced to save virtually all my CP for that strat and to expect to use it every battle round for the entire game. I'm worried that will be a thing again and make it feel like in certain matches, all other starts are irrelevant.
Exciting stuff
😮 oh, Neat!
Love these
Did they tell you about FW?
Adrian cosplaying that bobblehead
Great questions and good interview skills
Would be cool to give chaos/nightlord players a little flavor with the battleshock mechanic
I wonder if new codex detachments will include an option for legends.
Doubt it.
No chance
My question, why the hell ban Forge World?
less bloat, more streamlining
@greendalf123 Buzzwords for less options.
Crusher Stampede Detachment type rules CONFIRMED!!!!!!
Did he say he is starting iron warriors? How is he doing that without dreads?
12:00 From what they've shown, they're doing the opposite. You can no longer look at a combi-weapon and tell what it does. Maybe it's the weird generic profile that doesn't describe a flamer or a plasma or melta. Maybe if it's a special character like The Lion it's a "real" combi-weapon that actually functions like one or both of its modes. Maybe it'll be a "real" combi-weapon out of the blue, like an Infernus Heavy Bolter. Instead of just memorizing what a melta looks like, we'll need to memorize all the weird exceptions in the game where it's handled in a snowfalke-y way.
I mean,in the end, looking at one datacard is enough for you to know, no need to memorize or flip the book
Tell them we want our chaos forge world models.
Yeah, I'm not exactly a fan of overpriced resin. If you wanna fork out that much, go ahead, I guess
Are any of these interviews real? I think Stu was sent a load of questions, was filmed answering them and it was spun off into interviews
The audio on stu is a bit low
ah. maintaining my standards, thank you Adrian
Coming back to 40k after a bit of a hiatus, how come you guys havent done any batreps for like 8 months?
I’m assuming you’re looking in the videos tab. Check the live tab. They do all their battle reports as live streams
Volume slider go brrrrr
'Have a look at the questions GW asks themselves in public'
I really hope that they didn't make the scions completely useless now. I really hope that they give them something as a person who's been playing them since they're codex came out back in the day the day
Well skitarii were carapice armor and they now have 5+ so thats not a good sign. It seems like GW now only recognizes power armor and then everything else is just flack
9:07 Yeap 10,000 points. Half of it gone to legend.
0/10 no cucumber on the thumbnail
How funny taco was the add on this video
I would have asked who came up with the “less rerolls” pitch and what happened to them in life to make them the way they are.
There actually are fewer rerolls. Most rerolls have been unit specific.
Currently some factions have army wide rerolls in some form or another.
Less rerolls makes the game less lethal over all, good progress
show us where the rerolls touched you
There are fewer rerolls....
Smoothbrain take
@@nukem8128 Can you prove that there aren't? Count every unit that gets rerolls once all datasheets and indexes are out, then compare that to 9th edition numbers. You will find it's not even close
Funny he did this interview for multiple youtubers to release on the same day James Workshop shit on the customers.
Forge fiends, mauler fiends, hell brutes, idk....
They're giving us more options... unless you wanted to play 30k dreadnoughts lol
neat! but very much pissed off with their legends list
So don't play competitive?
@@fateweaver9844 problem is they won't update points for them, so after a couple of updates points are gonna be all janky and will be difficult to play even in casual games.
@@se7enspac3s so house rule them. I agree about it sucking major ass, but I don't see enough people bitching about it to make it change so we're just going to have to roll with it.
“So don’t play the most common way to play”
@@elijahlovejoy5438 Competitive is hardly the most common. You can still use them in pick up games
My question: Why did you not get rid of True Line of Sight?
why is he so terribly quiet?
Pretty sure it’s only GW tournaments banning some models. Just do whatever you like.
Pretty sure 25% of those models won’t get ANY rules for 11th edition.
Pretty sure half the dudes down at the LGS will at the very least give me a nice frown and a bit of lip for using legends of not play me at all.
Raw cucumber....who hurt you?
😄
Should of asked him why they didn't modernise the game to alternating activations and move the game to a D12 system.
They already trialed this system with Apocalypse.
Why didn't they bring 40k upto modern tabletop game standards.
40k feels like it's stuck in the 90s.
At least ask if they are going to release a 10th edition updated version of Apocalypse.
Yeah nah cucumber doent belong on pizza same as pineapple
The biggest 40K channels and noone has the balls to ask the Qs about business practice, the failed app, the hunt for content creators, rules like D6vs D10 & alternate activation. These interviews felt like a branch of GW. What a disappointment.
"Hunt of content creators " that was a few years ago and turned out to be massive overaction on part of the community, no animations was sent cease & decease, hell they still on UA-cam, literally GW didn't acted on it at all. New app is also coming soon
Until you switch to alternating (or even random) unit activations, this game will still be decided in turn one. Everything else is just rearranging deck-chairs on the Titanic. The game is 5 or 6 editions overdue for this fundamental change.
Feel No Pain not being a USR before 7th edition? "Looks in my 5th edition Blood Angels codex and Brother Corbulo having a 2+ Feel No Pain instead of a "normal" 4+ Feel No Pain for that edition. Sure....
He said they haven’t been a rule SINCE 7th edition.
@@joshuabbates4096 Ahhh. Then I misunderstood
9th edition was barely successful... every codex had immediate mistakes, they required day one or sooner errata's, the Warhammer hobby is built for tournament play when the majority of their customer base are casual players. Narrative was implemented poorly, PL was never needed, combat patrol also adds pointless complications as it rewrites rules for units just to confuse new players (here's an easy to play system with new more complicated rules that don't play like the game they are intended for...)
Despite all it's faults, 9th was successful from engagement standpoint, also financially. It was also the most flexible and options abundant edition, when even no-name subfaction got some rules.
This has not aged well.
Why have they banned $2000 of what I’ve spent from tourneys? I don’t care if they are weak, I fear legends not receiving rules in 11th. Plenty of my models don’t have rules from old days. It’s fine, but never have this many models moved to legends. Faff off
Ok 4 edition had quite a bit more, but that was an eon ago..
These are the exact same questions and answers as on tabletop tactics...slightly disappointing
Thanks Games Workshop for wasting my $333 x4 for my Brass Scorpions, my 180x4 for my Kytans, my 125x3 for my blood slaughterers $2427 wasted because you gave SM so many model you got too lazy to balance these VERY WORLD EATERS UNITS!!!!!!!!!
Are you solely a competitive player? Otherwise the Horus Heresy legends will all be allowed in matched play
@VITEV009 Won't receive points updates, so after a few updates won't be in line with rest of units so will be awkward even for casual.
Well see... there's your problem OP. I got all those units for the cost of one of your scorpions with chinacast.
@@se7enspac3s I don't really understand, how will it be awkward if the points just stay the same?
@@nukem8128 Is that a 3D printing workshop or a third party mini supplier?
I have not seen anything from this addition to make me excited. I feel its got to be a joke with everything they have released so far. Im hoping for something to come about and make me excited.
This dude always sounds like a politician. Answers but doesnt really answer.
If you're waiting for something to make you feel engaged... it's time you get a new hobby
It’s ok, they took away a bunch more excitement. The leviathan box heralds the removal of leviathans… nice
Let's boycott 10th edition and show GW what it's like to have wasted money on a load of models.
Legends is not acceptable for all the money we have spent on FW models.
No disrespect intended, just some constructive feedback here - this seemed very pre arranged and scripted.
I had to go and Watch Liam and Joe use the C word a hundred times in 10 minutes to feel clean after 😂
