I use a Custom Local made one that this guy makes and sells , very high quality and strong with very thick stainisteel compared to other Scoops. I use a wooden handle with it. Also Fiberglass gives you blisters if you don't put something about the handle and it can break, that is why I put on a wooden handle.
Paul great vids.. very inspiring. But just a quick question. Living in Cornwall.. with all these wonderful beaches.. looking to buy a sand scoop. looking for a very strong long handle! Maybe you can recommend one or what scoop do you use? Very much appreciated 👍
links to the scoops and shafts are in the video description and CMD stock the EmitRe scoops and Evolution scoops, The Shafts are carbon Fibre made by Anderson Shafts
I use one fiberglass handle from a commercial grade post hole digger. A bit heavy but no flex at all. I also use textured heat shrink with rubber "O" rings under it. My main scoop is a Stavr. I also have a small Coin scoop with a carbon fiber shaft that I keep in the car along with a small shovel and my Nox 800. Pretty much lets me be able to hunt if the chance arises while I'm out mucking about.
You left out the TRex with the 5/8 holes I got from KellyCo. It's heavy but well worth the weight. Excellent in dry or wet sand and a must-have in the water.
Thanks for the video Paul. I made a novice mistake and realised size matters! My first purchase only had around a 3" throat. It was well made but it did not shift enough sand. Been using a Sito married to a bit of b&q dowel for a couple of years. Not broke it yet.
nice video to see most of the choices all at once, can I ask what diameter is the stainless steel shaft for the Evolution, Ive been looking for one to replace my mild steel curtain pole Ive been using which only lasts a couple of visits to the beach, when I have to fix it all the time. thank you
I’ve got the Evolution with a 30mm diameter cold pressed steel shaft. Rubber o rings at intervals and wrapped in non slip heat shrink😁 works great. Had the cheap eBay one before that with same shaft but it only lasted 3-4 trips out. I’ve only used the Evo once but then we got put in lockdown. It’s very strong loving it so far
Cool to see the progression of scoops. Best scoop video to me so far. I’m a begginer in Hawaii. I just got an AT MAX.Any Sito scoop without the small holes in the center?
there is a link in description but i think they are out of stock, Anderson do a straight handle www.andersondetectorshafts.com/collections/accessories/products/neptune-t-grip-0620
Evolution with stainless steel short shaft D handle. And I abuse it to the point of moving rocks with it and don’t think any other can compare on the wet sand, we don’t have dry sand. 👍
First sand scoop was from Ukraine, it is a "Travel" scoop, square mostly, flat on the bottom, works great on dry sand with precise pinpointing, with wooden handle with your advised o-rings & shrink wrapped with straight mounted side handle, works good still, but did need rewelded along side/top seam. Second sand scoop is the "Extreme" scoop made in Texas, Stainless Steel hexagon holes, VERY Heavy, at first I had wood handle, but was even heavier, then replaced it with carbon fiber handle, is a little lighter now, also with the straight side handle, for my big hands I use the longer skinnier side handle instead of the shorter fatter side handle offered by a different company. I see "Extreme" now has a much lighter weighted scoop, made of Titanium, but expensive. If I would sell my stainless scoop, I'd buy the titanium one instead. Maybe I should get me one of those fancy belt hook holders for my carrying instead of by hand all the time, might help.
The best breakdown of sand scoops and handles I've seen. Excellent!
i got the sito with two mesh sizes and the point at the front. wow what a scoop.

Hi Paul
Does that pull handle have a clamp that you can open? I want to put one on a spade that has a t handle welded on.
Yes it open up if you remove the tightening nut and then wrap the bendy part around whatever your putting it on then just reassemble
@@paulcee cheers Paul. 👍
If its one of the metal shaft spades just make sure the diameter is large enough for the d grip handle
@@paulcee yep it is, thanks. 👍
Jolly good

Hi Paul, any ideas for a scoop that's good on stony beaches? Regards ed
Depending on how you want to dig stones, they are more designed for sifting sand, you would be probsbly better with a small SS spade
@@paulcee ok thanks Paul
Hi Paul, can you please tell me where I can purchase a D handle as shown in this video? Many thanks.

Ive been looking at the extreme titanium ones Darrell 😊
@@paulcee Yes, that seems to be the next best thing in sand scoops. Texas isn't that far from UK. lol
Paul do you make the scoops?
No i dont mate sorry
The Sito.... dry sand only. Bloody thing bent in the wet at Brid. Would avoid.
Very interesting thanks for sharing 👍👍
Hole size??? It does matter - a lot!!
Sand Scoop Nokta !!!!
The scoop you couldn't remember is a stavr
@Jalen Ismael Jep nobody cares.
I made my own sandwich scoop.
