I always wondered why there were people hanging around a gym in the games, and after watching this, I realized that I would be one of the groupies checking out the challengers and seeing what else gym has to offer. LOL Such a cool event!!

When a youtuber pulls off a better event than the game company itself This looks insane, both in the fun and logistical factors Really wish this starts becoming a more commonplace thing, and hopefully not just in the US!
This looked like so much fun, I hope the Pokemon Company takes notes, because I sure as hell would wish stuff like that would happen here in europe too. Like seriously this is what they should do to market a new generation
I love how the last battle was like something out of a legit Pokémon game with the former Champion going through his brother and then the Gym leader to regain his title.

It's a shame really fun looking events like these only ever seem to happen in massive cities like new york, california area, houston, dallas or nashville. Kind've hard not to feel left out, ya know? Also I'm shocked that Nintendo didn't bring the hammer down on you for this.
As someone who grew up in a very small town, I 100% felt this sentiment and understand. However, you do have to think about it from the logistics perspective of the people planning these events. Their event will cost a huge amount regardless of where they host it, and if they put it in a really niche location that is difficult for the majority of people to make it to (though convenient for a small minority).... it just doesn't make much sense on their end. It is definitely the suckiest part of living in a smaller town or in a state that is not near any huge metropolitan cities. However, I will say it does get a **lot** better when you're older, because if going to events like this are a priority to you, you can spend the money to actually travel out to them and it is a lot of fun.
Outside of what the other commenter mentioned.. many rural towns literally can't handle the influx of people this would bring. Streets would be jammed. Requirements would have massive wires and likely even start running out of food.. bathroom facilities would be brutal.
@@Nitrometutorials Yeah, I figured it was always strategic in placements. Haha, I know you didn't mean to insult with the older comment but being 27 and living on disability doesn't really give you much money to save I'm afraid.
@@lvlinty I live in a small city that has a University which brings roughly 3-4 thousand people in every year. So honestly, It might be able to deal with this haha. No promises
Because small towns or places wouldn't get a lot of attention much less people. It will depend mostly on locals more than people traveling a long distance to it. That's why major events only happen in big cities. And of course, big cities can accommodate huge amounts of crowds with Airbnb, hotels, and motels.
This looks so much like I imagine pokemon gyms in the games! People crowding around to see the battles. And of course product placement haha, such a great job Wolfey!

Not the same thing but when i was a teen every summer there were pokemon theme events in a lot of the beaches of my country, you could go there play and do some gymkhanas , get oficial merch, and get event pokemon.
Sadly this disapeared
@@Sheenifier I know! Such a missed opportunity.
Having one in every major city per state and province for Canada would be so cool. I live in Montreal and would love to be part of a Montreal pokemon gym event
Watching Brendan walk through the gym was like watching Red walk through. So badass.
Ironic that Brendan shares a name with another Pokémon protagonist, the male protagonist of Gen 3
This is so beautiful and heartwarming. The official Pokemon company itself could never organize something that is so loving to its fanbase. This many people that can gather and bond over a 90s franchise... it's amazing.
I always wondered why there were people hanging around a gym in the games, and after watching this, I realized that I would be one of the groupies checking out the challengers and seeing what else gym has to offer. LOL Such a cool event!!
Wolfe, this is... absolutely incredible. The entire video I just had this massive smile on my face, just amazed about everything from the concept of an irl Pokémon Gym, to *a real, actual water bottle guy,* to getting swept by a team someone would actually use _in-game_ to beat a Water-type Gym, to the *_ANIME AS ALL HELL FINAL CHALLENGER REVEAL._* You're pushing the envelope of competitive pokémon content, and we're all so excited to see what you're cooking up next.

This looks insane, both in the fun and logistical factors

This looked like so much fun, I hope the Pokemon Company takes notes, because I sure as hell would wish stuff like that would happen here in europe too. Like seriously this is what they should do to market a new generation
This is honestly a genius idea. Please keep doing events like these all around the world!
Nintendo needs to sponsor you at this point, crazy how much your content is doing for the community.
I love how the last battle was like something out of a legit Pokémon game with the former Champion going through his brother and then the Gym leader to regain his title.
Glad this is now his most viewed video. Love it when hard work and good ideas get rewarded.
This is presented like a news segment in such a way that i’m now just craving more content like this
It does have "an everyday pokemon world occurance" newscast type feel to it 🤣
Wow this is the most amazing Pokémon themed event since Pokémon Go I’ve ever seen. Has to take the cake as the best PokeTuber I’ve ever seen. Thank you for bringing everybody’s childhood into reality Wolfe!
That double discharge strat put the biggest smile on my face. Discharge-Volt Absorb-Lightening Rod was the first ever team I tried in Doubles, and seeing someone succeed with it makes me super happy
Entered into this vid a bit skeptical but honestly so blown away by how fun and well managed this looks - even down to the screen outside to keep people waiting entertained
It feels so good seeing Wolfe succeed. He’s worked so hard. He deserves it!
I legit could not stop smiling throughout this whole video. It looked like such a cool and fun event, really bringing people together in a wholesome, Pokémon-loving way. Great job and looking forward to seeing more like this!
Why is this so wholesome? I was smiling the whole time. It's like my dream of living in Pokémon world is coming true
Watching this video sent goosebumps all over my body multiple times. Holyyyy it must have been so cool to be able to participate in a real life pokemon gym event! Wolfey, you are the real goat!
Just imagine if this was actually how Pokémon gyms work. Where trainers not only battled challengers and the leader but also got a chance to get signed autographs, play arcades, and do other things while they wait for their turn to go against the gym leader.
in the pokemon world some are like that the Celadon city gym is an aroma therapy spa aswell as a gym
@@leocruz1688 Oh ya that episode was funny. Cerulean Gym has Water shows with the pokemon like the Boston Aquarium.
Bro there's like a fashion runway as a gym in unova. Was it Elesa?
I hope people really realize how big Pokémon really is here. I’d LOVE to see more IRL events like this for Pokémon!!:)
Each city in the world should have a gym leader as much as they usually have a major^^
Before doing this worldwide, I hope we get voice acting first :p
Yeah tons of people play it. Even people that you think wouldn't ever touch pokemon
This has got to be among one of the best Pokémon videos/events on UA-cam. CLEARLY a huge amount of work went into this from many people. Huge props to everyone who made it happen!
My only complaint is that I’m a little jealous I didn’t get to go 😉
idk bro, i feel like it IS the best pokemon video, it definitely had the most effort out of any video i watched on pokemon, whod think a little childs anime can be turned into this. amazing. (the anime is meant for children but anyone can watch it)
@@29shrek8 I started watching pokemon as I used to watch it when I was a kid, but the amount of adult jokes in the dub are just amazing.

This was a creative way to bring so many Pokémon fans together, as well as giving them experience battling top tier players.
Good stuff.
Wolfe has proven time and again that he is undoubtedly my favorite Pokémon UA-camr! It’s an absolutely wonderful thing for you to host an event like this and all of your fans will thank you for it.
Crazy that I saw him first with Shady before he decided to make a UA-cam channel. Glad he's had so much success after keeping at it 7 years or so later. Persistence pays off.
*youtubist
This got me a bit teary, seeing loads of people having fun together with Pokémon, and seeing Wolfe pouring so much time and energy into it, with the event being a big success, it's such a sweet sight :D
This is the single most wholesome thing I have ever seen. Huge props to Wolfey for bringing so many people together for a really fun and creative event!
I literally had the same thought. Get out of my head! 😅
You must live under a rock
told her i'd go to the gym, didn't tell her which one
Why is this such a fun concept?!? I appreciate how Wolfey embodied the spirit of the gym leaders and had a team that was meant to be defeated. A World Champ not using his best Pokémon shows a lot of restraint. I would have joined but my original game boy ran out of double A batteries 😬-original Red and Blue gym next? Lol.
Cause you are a man child... seems obvious
It's easy to understand why it's such a fun concept. You're basically living out your dreams. You're getting the BEST Immersion. You're getting a REAL taste of what it's like to be in one of THE most Nostalgia fueled games!
It's such a familiar concept to the people who did play these games as kids/young adults. I just dont know why there arent more events like this.
it's genuinely surprising that TPC itself hasn't done something like this. i saw this unfold on Twitter, i thought it was the coolest thing ever, and it's even cooler watching it on UA-cam. keep up the good work!
Ikr. Yugioh's even done this type of event. This is as close to irl Pokemon as you can get without going full RP.
No shot it would be as good as this if TPC actually did it, though
When I saw the title of the video I didn't knew what to expect to be completely honest, but I'm flabbergasted by how amazing this event seems: I can't even begin to image the hustle to put it all together. I hope Pokemon company will sponsor things like this in future, you would totally deserve it
Such a great event! We need the Pokémon marketing and creative team popping these up everywhere to get the younger generation into Pokémon and the now-adults who grew up with it
This is literally what we've all been training for thank you Wolfe
What Wolfie earned is so many trust worthy and supporting friends and respect from his fans.... That's a huge achivement.....❣️

Fun fact: I was like 10 feet to the left of the intro being filmed. This event was incredible, the BC staff were all the best! Get idea Wolfe!
Idc what everyone else says, but that lady won a gym badge against Wolfe. So if she says its a banana tree, its a banana tree 😂
Wolfey is an absolute gigachad for opening a real life pokemon gym
We need more Poketubers like Wolfe. Or at least more events like this.
I’m a PokeTuber, and a SplatTuber, and a SkyTuber.
Desperately hoping this becomes a semiannual event or something! I’d buy a plane ticket to challenge Wolfey instantly. The content from this channel is top quality and makes me proud to be a Pokémon fan still in my adult life
This is incredibly beautiful and genuinely heartwarming! It's hard to believe that even the official Pokémon Company could orchestrate something as touching and meaningful for its fans as this. Seeing so many people come together to celebrate and connect over a franchise that started in the '90s is nothing short of amazing. It’s a testament to the lasting impact Pokémon has had on our lives, transcending generations and uniting individuals from diverse backgrounds. Moments like this highlight the passion and love within the community, showcasing how a shared interest can create deep bonds and cherished memories. It's truly inspiring to witness!
Could you imagine if someone some how did this but made 8 gyms as well and an elite 4, that would be wild! It awesome you managed to make a gym IRL!

Love the idea but the main issue I see with that is just travel money. Pretty much only those able to afford the expense could ever become the Champion.
@@Shmandalf well I think you could put it in just one area, and just make them spread out like a mile at most.
Or even better have 1 gym for each state and collect all 45 medals
Dang. Even as someone just watching this from UA-cam thousands of miles away from New York, this has got to be one of the most passionate Pokemon events I've witnessed for a long time. Hope that the Elite 4 gets to be EVEN GRANDER (heh, gen3 pun)! Thanks for the content, Wolfe, Aarons 1 & 2, and James! :D

This has to be one of the coolest things to ever happen, especially for Pokemon fans. What an event Wolfe, you earned my respect.
The two people interviewed at 3:00 had such an infectious energy. They seem like absolutely lovely humans
