@tslee8236 $9.70 for First grade copper today. Simply pointing out that people complaining about premiums in the past just dropped $90 for a kg of copper.🤪
As a plumber who regularly sells copper to our scrap metal place this is awesome 😂😂😂 I know this is a novelty but gotta love it, $90 a kg and I'm getting $9 from my scrap guy!! I wonder if copper will get to $90 in our lifetime
@GSmetals you talking about BN or Germania? It is pretty bizarre to manufacture a copper bar 10x the going market price but maybe it's just a collectible
Mecca’s cheeseburger is $4.45, a cow ($2000) can produce 2000 cheeseburgers. 4.45 X 2000 = $8900. I wonder if a cow will get to $8900 in our lifetime 🤣
@@plumairalbannach8492 My Old Man was a Radiologist he used too Bring Home the Lead Pots From the radio Active Isotopes , And we would take them too the scrap Metal LOL , 10c spot for a alo can is OK
Like these for fun but the cheapest way is to get your hands on copper (and nickel) and get as many circulating coins as you can. Head down to your local bank while they still actually have coins (not much longer) and back up the truck with 20c pieces. You get 11.31 grams of 75% copper and 25% nickel . Current Cu spot= $13.06/kg. Current Ni spot = $31.16/kg. So each 20c coin currently has 19.97 cents worth of metal at spot. Often the calculation comes back as *more* than face value. There is no way Cu and Ni will crash in price given inflation so It's the ultimate zero loss deal. Anyway - you can always get face value for them at the Reserve Bank. In the long run when coins are demonetised they are going to be worth much more than spot. Especially since China controls about 80%-90% of current copper inventories and there's not nearly enough production coming on line.
Is there any issues when you fly domestic around Australia and your carry on has gold/silver coins or bullion? If so at what amount do you need to declare to security ?
You don't, for domestic travel, and technically for international travel, you don't have to declare pure bullion at Australian customs either. That being said, if the (investment form) bullion isn't at least 99.5% (gold) or 99.9% (silver) or 99% (platinum) OR you get a customs officer who isn't aware of what's dutiable or not, you might be better off declaring it all. Coins are different because even if they're pure bullion, if they trade at a premium to spot, they could be liable for GST and duty.
These Copper Bars are great stuff for satisfying aesthetic reasons ..like purchasing nice expensive high end dinnerware and branded silver cutlery. As an investment option/choice, and hope to sell them for some profits & gains ... the answer is obviously ... not a good choice.
Never thought I’d see the day bullion now would sell copper… can’t believe it, I’ll try to blank this out of my mind and hope you don’t bring anymore in 😂
Maybe they are not Silver or Gold bars but they are still awesome looking; like someone commented...copper art! The presentation of these copper bars in their nice black boxes by the Germania Mint is impressive! They may be kind of a novelty, but I will still purchase a few anyway.😊
Whenever I go through a $25 box/case of pennies I keep aside not only the Wheaties and Canadians (of course) but also the 1959-81 copper memorials that I got in a fairly decent size jar. Hey as long as I can get copper like this at face value I can't lose, right?
Buying copper rounds and bars is just for pure fun, it is a pretty metal as well. I have a walking liberty, peace, and morgan dollar design of copper rounds, it's really neat to see those designs made out of copper.
Copper is not precious it belongs in the walls 😂 if it makes people happy it’s a good thing 👍
100% you won’t catch me dead even thinking about buying these 😂
So spot buy back is $9? THE STACKING COMMUNITY has officially gone nuts. Do not ever complain about premiums again people.
No dealer advertises a copper buyback offer, even those selling copper coins online. $9 for scrap was just a mention in a comment.

Poor man's silver
Yet without it everyone will be a pauper.
Copper being the industrials choice. They want smart cities. Its going to take a bunch of more copper. Wont be "poor mans silver" forever.

domestic, no. If they say anything tell them to piss off.
Just don't overweight your carry on. I think domestic carry on has a lower weight limit.

Did you put them through the XRF? 😂
Agree Micheal, it’s also about enjoying, getting pleasure from what you collect
Nice paperweight 😂😂
They went so quick! Congrats to everyone who was first off the blocks! Hope you get more in soon as I would love some 👍
Beautiful bars, but do many people collect/stack copper 🤔
Well, requested and you got them in.
Wow. Sold out so fast!

I bought a Gemania kilo copper bar in the U.S. they're beautiful but at 8 times spot it's a one time purchase.
If it can be bought at bunnings for cheaper its not a rare enough metal to be stored in vaults yet
