As a Professional Child Actor I worked with Richard Burton on the 1978 Film "ABSOLUTION", and I had a personal, private, one to one chat with him one lunch time, while we were on Location filming, I brought up the subject of his drinking, as he had been drunk on set for 3 days before, I guess the logic of a child, and what we discussed, struck a cord with him, as the next day Richard was sober, and he continued to be for the rest of the filming of Absolution, , and in an interview on UK TV not long after, stated that he had stopped Drinking, But sadly the years of drinking, had indeed taken a great toll on his body, and the damage was done, Richard was an amazing man, a fantastic Actor, and exceptionally kind, who i was a true pleasure to knowand work with, and an honor to have him call me his friend. one of so many big names in the industry I have been lucky to work with and spend time talking to, on a large number of Productions over the past 50 years, As to your recent video on Child Actors, I have to say I do not share the view that some rolls are not suitable to be played by children, as those of us who have been Young Child Actors like I have, are fully aware that everything is just Acting, I worked on a Horror Film back in 1976 "FULL CIRCLE" aka THE HAUNTING OF JULIA (USA Title), in scenes with Mia Farrow, and I watched some gory scenes being filmed involving Stage Blood, and on another TV Production had Stage Blood sprayed all over me, (without any warning !) as the Director wanted the real shocked response, and I had no problem with these things at all, those outside of the industry seem to think some rolls are not suitable for children, ( always Adults that see things differently) to those of us who work inside it. to us it is just a job, and playing a part, it is not real what we are doing, but it is fun, and just making a Movie, or TV Production. so that is a balanced view from a Top London Stage School trained, (Equity Card Member) Professional Child Actors perspective.
