- Ever thought you had it rough as a child? You might want to think again! Today, we are shining the light on the life stories of illicit love children in old Hollywood history.
Bobby Darin is another grandmother is mother and mother is sister story. He didn’t find out until his early 30’s.
Let's get something straight about Loretta Young's daughter. Her mother was raped by Clark Gable on a train. Loretta found out that what she had experienced had been equivalent to what we now understand is date rape. Gable insinuated himself into Loretta's sleeping car on the train when they were coming back from filming The Call Of The Wild. Loretta had nothing to do with Clark's sneaking into her bed. She was an extremely rigid, Catholic girl who was very careful not to be in compromising situations with men. It must have been excruciating for her because back then, women were almost always blamed and called permiscuous and slutty etc. Loretta wasn't going to get an abortion no matter how humiliating the situation was. So she concocted the silly story of adopting Judy. It's tragic that things like that can ruin lives.
I think Judy Lewis, while resembling her mother, she definitely looks like her father
Judy's ears were operated on when she was very young (because they stuck out) exactly like Clark Gables
😢😢 I feel so sorry for the children that didn't get know their fathers.
It happened more back then than it does now
I’m not famous and my parents weren’t either. My mom divorced my dad when I was 3. He moved away and never had contact with him my entire life. When I was 16 I was supposed to meet him. But he died before that happened. I wish I could have met him and picked his brain. I’m now 60.
You can still be without a father even if both parents are around and married. It so much depends on the man. Thank goodness in today's age, men are encouraged to be involved personally in their children's lives.
Depends on their fathers. 🤷♀️
@@vegasrider2246Same here, but I did meet him. Once. As an adult. I flew to him. I felt nothing. Coulda been a guy at the grocery store I talked to for a while. I DID have the benefit of having a dad I loved a lot, however. Funny though, my bio got remarried and raised HER three kids and they called HIM dad.
Can’t wait until Jack Nicholson is a guest on “Who do You think You Are”.
Lots of words...
Now I have to look up a word that I can’t spell. Androginis. Thanks and the meaning
Gable was a coward
Loretta Young went thru a lot to keep her secret and didn’t want him in her life. It would have ruined both their careers. He did what she asked and didn’t want him in the picture. I don’t think that makes him a coward 🤷🏼♀️.
Gable was a rapist
@@janina8559Gable was married when he impregnated Loretta Young. There certain was never any talk about her marrying him. He heft fer holding her the bag.
You forgot to mention Danny Huston he is Allegra brother too.
How could a mother put her child into an orphanage! Unbelievably cruel. The father also had no courage to step up and care for his child, not just financially but emotionally.
IDK back then it could have ruined their careers. Especially hers. They drove Ingrid Bergman out of town. She was the one who denied it until basically the day she died. She could have come clean to Judy when it didn’t matter anymore, if she wanted. But it was a tough spot for her to be in. You live the lie long enough, it becomes truth……
True, but it might have been better than living with a mother who doesn't want you.
Back then, having a baby and not being married would have killed her career. It would have ruined her, her family, and her child. She hid the baby until she could 'adopt' her. May have been gossip, but no scandal. In many states, the baby's birth certificate would have a big, red stamp across it that said "illegitimate." The baby would have been ridiculed. It looks bad now, but then, there were few choices.
