I needed to hear this. I'm 45 years old I've been praying for about two decades now for God to bring a man into my life and I am still single. This is a beautiful thing that I needed to hear.
I am 53 yrs old, you are way young still, I was married once only for one yr he betrayed me, and this is back in 2000, 22 yrs now I am single GOD knows how much hard time I have been having in all aspects even health matters all alone and been praying 20 yrs , I got older but still praying,

I didn't click on this thinking it would be about God's providence in marriage and such, but it's 100% the message and encouragement I needed right now. And I believe that's how God makes it known to me that it was from Him, and not the result of me searching for what I think I need. Kind of like how Paul said that God putting Adam to sleep was to show him that he didn't make it happen. I'd never thought of that before. I'm so thankful for comfort from God through His people... Paul's words about singleness when you're older and how precious we are to God - I needed that so much. And he was also very right about children not being made for the parent's needs. My mom surely doesn't get what she needs from my dad and I am so drained being in this position.

Sometimes people are not ready for what they are asking for. God knows what you want but gives it in his own time. To see that as suffering is foolish because there is real suffering in this world and not finding a spouse is not in that realm. Everyone has their thorn in the flesh, it could be anything, it’s how we handle it that shows what we are made of and where our priorities are.

Younger single people... should look to their parents for love? And if their parents are incapable? If their siblings are rude and crude? My girlfriend has parents who have always been drunks and abusive, she has a brother who sexual assaulted her.. So how is that supposed to work? It should be ideal, sure, but isn't realistic in the world we live in.. I met her soon after praying to Adonai asking Him to provide me a wife.. I'd been single for 7 years prior. It wasn't until I was truly ready, after being comfortably single that I even asked. She's in her mid twenties and I was the very first person to have ever prayed for her. I know Elohiym brought us together for a reason. While she may not currently be saved, I have faith that He will work in her life, and save her. I hope to help her along the way and I hope to marry her some day soon. God should be the centerpiece in all of our relationships, in all of our lives.
