Yahusha answered him, “Marriage is not of the flesh, nor made by the words of men. It is of the spirit, and
they who are joined in spirit and flesh in the sight of YAHUAH let no man seek to lightly put apart. A
marriage wholly of the flesh is fornication, though it be blessed by many priests.
“Yet marriage is the measure of value. A thing possessed by many is of little consequence. The worth of a coin lacking inscription is unestablished, and the possessor carries it without faith, doubting its ability to buy bread. A woman may be reserved for marriage, or give herself freely for love. She knows her own worth best. But if she gives herself to several, then it is not love, but fornication. “A union is blessed before a priest and sanctified in the eyes of the people. But I tell you, unless the bond is forged on the anvil of adversity and wrought under the hammers of stress and struggle, it is a thing of little spiritual substance.
“Love is not like the thistle seed, blown this way or that according to the prevailing winds of desire and
inclination. It is not the offspring of flesh, but the sunchild of the spirit. It can be proven and established only under difficulties and tribulations, and it is because of the known frailties of men under trial and test that
marriage has been ordained to enshrine it.”

“As the head of my home, I have the right to serve everyone in my home and go to bed more tired than anyone else in my home. I have authority to work very hard at the mission, come home and know that my day has just begun.” -Paul Washer
Wow, what an example of a strong man who is a servant of God.

    • @jellytoast12

Yeah, I know. He never fails to boast about how holy and great he is and how much he suffers for what is right. Then in the next breath, will condemn people as God haters who are going to hell for doing nothing more than not coming forward wailing and crying at the end of his sermons. And yes, he has done that on at least 2 occasions. Sorry but this man has a net worth of 4 million. He can plan his own day anyway he likes. Some fathers tho, and moms as well, have to work 60 hours a week just to put food on the table and keep the lights on. And God have mercy on them if they barely have the strength to walk in the door at night because Paul Washer won't. Here's the link to Washer trashing people who do nothing more than sit in their seats. It begins at the 6:30 min. mark. There is not one thing biblical about this. He is nothing but a legalistic preacher who manipulates through his emotions while heaping massive burdens of works and perfectionism onto the people. ua-cam.com/video/64mVw35aQVU/v-deo.html

true, what then is the role of his wife? Jesus delegated tasks: get a donkey, prepare an upper room, go into towns in pairs to preach, etc etc. I respect Paul, but on marriage the bible is already all so clear. So he comes home tired then heads to the kitchen and hopefully the wife or child will ask to help? so, as a woman, if your husband comes home fatigued from a hard job and HAS TO keep going, that is no marriage and there is no love there.

    • @jellytoast12
      @jellytoast12 2 роки тому +3

@@ickederen114 It's also just plain pandering to the women. And the quote " I have the authority to work very hard at the mission...." Well, besides the fact he owns the mission and can plan out his own day, not everyone has that option. Some people are swinging sledge hammers and cutting logs 12 to 14 hours a day or more. Others are just sitting behind a desk for 6 hours. His example isn't a recipe for a good marriage. It's a recipe for divorce. I started to study this guy about 6 weeks ago because I was curious about him. I listened to his sermons myself, over 20 or so including short bits from other sermons. He is a totally false teacher who denies and mocks those who say they are saved by faith. He manipulates you with his emotion. I have a background in sales and emotion is a strong and effective tool in selling. People hear the emotion, the crying, the trembling and the outbursts of anger accompanied by the sad sad face and they are hooked. He pretty much, with some variations, only has one sermon. His gift is to guilt the most faithful Christian into thinking they will burn in hell if they aren't as good as he is.

@Thomas B I have many times. James is talking about being justified before your neighbor. Not before God. Big difference. The same God that wrote James also wrote this... Eph. 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast" Notice the words.. NOT OF YOURSELVES, IT IS A GIFT OF GOD, NOT BY WORKS." Romans 3:24 "and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." Notice the word FREELY." Freely has a meaning. It means free. John 3:14 "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life." As Moses lifted up the serpent. Read about that in Numbers 21. P Washer would call that easy believism. How hard was it for those who were bitten to be saved???? All they had to do was look at the bronze serpent. And Jesus compares Himself to that bronze serpent. Here is a short sermon by a man who is hated and slandered by reformers. Much the way Jesus was by the Pharisees. Listen for yourself and you be the judge. Compare his words to the Bible. But be careful, your eyes might be opened. ua-cam.com/video/20RnGi35DQw/v-deo.html But if you don't like him, here is a fellow Baptist who is saying the same thing. ua-cam.com/video/hXeFRQ3qsqY/v-deo.html

It is never too late. I didnt have a clear relationship with my dad but when I came to really know Christ and his love and power, I told my dad that I loved him. Ever since, my relationship with my dad has changed for the better only because I obeyed the Holy Spirit to led me during that situation and it made me close with my dad and able to share my faith. Christ has power in his name and praying unceasingly is my goal everyday to connect with God. I am praying for you to reconcile with God first before you reconcile with your children. God bless.

@31:49 if anyone wanted to hear it in context. It may be true, but if that area he speaks of is sinful, contrary to the clear teaching of scripture, then the spouse may be acting as an agent of Satan. I seriously doubt God would place one of His own in such a dilemma for any period of time without a way of escape. 1 cor 7v3-5 The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5 (HERE IS THE COMMAND) Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again (WHY PAUL?)so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
For example, if a person is married for 20 plus years and you wonder while he or she struggles in their walk, then you find out the "one struggling" has been living in 1 Corinthians 7 the entire marriage.
Here is what pastor John MacArthur said in relation to this:
Listen, when you withhold from your partner for any reason, you put that partner in a place where Satan will temp them toward their lack of self-control. The first thing that happens is not only the bitterness and the anguish and anxiety that comes between the two, but then the evil thought that comes into the mind, and then the entertainment of the evil thought, and very often it can lead to an adulterous situation. Any time you withhold from your partner that which is rightfully theirs, you become the agent of Satan.
Now, you say you love your wife, men? Women, you say you love your husband? Then don’t ever put your husband or wife in a situation where they are open to the temptation of Satan simply because you’re selfish. It isn’t right....If I say I love my wife, if you say you love your husband, if that’s really true, then you would never willfully, openly put that person in a place where Satan begins to tempt them to carnality.
Sometimes, you know, we deal with people in the church and friends, and we wonder why they have so much trouble walking in the Spirit. And maybe the reason is because they are so frustrated physically in their own marriage that they are constantly being bombarded with thoughts of this. That’s not fair. You’re not only robbing that person, you’re putting them in a place of temptation, and you become an agent of Satan. - end (John MacArthur - Sermon titled: To Marry or Not to Marry)
I know such a person and it is devastating. Which brings up another question concerning the topic of forgiveness? Does biblical forgiveness demand reconciliation between the parties involved?

What Washer was saying is that we withhold true love from others, and worst of all from God, yet He still loves us.
That doesn’t mean that the person who you described is in the right. We still need to get help if there is an “inconsolable difference”, from pastors, counselors, and most importantly on our knees.

I know .. they are hard to find... Although it's good to desire a good preacher like this ... I have watched all my life people follow a preacher instead of God's word... Their entire Christianity is derived from the preacher.. what's worse is in the US it's not only like this but it's what they think they're supposed to do. If you attempt to have a mature spiritual conversation with these types.. one of the first things they will say is "Well, my preacher says this or that". and all the time expecting you to tell them what your preacher has indoctrinated you to believe. .. The Church and pastors are nice and all but your Christian Life is mostly lived out outside the walls of some church building... A person's relationship with God is a personal walk with Christ on a daily basis enhanced strongly by scripture, prayer, and fasting.

I was really shaken It was sent to me by our One and Only Heavenly Father. No joke!!! The Lord was speaking about me… That’s the moment when I was feeling defeated and really depressed The words that Paul spoke were like God just put his arms around me and said: “everything you’re doing is a service to me” 😭 😭 😭 that brothers and sisters… is the amazing power and the love of The God we serve! that is all I needed to live my life with gratitude and humbleness. It’s still not easy but I know HE has my back!!! Please pray for my husband… I need Jesus to get to know my husband. I fear that his salvation is at risk! He needs to be a good Godly father to these two boys! and I need him to get his act together!! I almost left him 6 years ago but God didn’t allow it! Please pray for him! He’s name is Christopher!!! I feel in my spirit that your husband is hurting from something that he just doesn’t feel safe talking about! My prayer is that the Holy Spirit would send him somebody that he could open up to and become vulnerable with and work through those issues! So that he can be the husband and the father that God has meant for him to be! I have been right there myself! But I no longer need alcohol because I faced my pain and worked through it, I have absolute zero desire to drink a drop of alcohol and I’ve been that way for three years now! it's not masculinity. you're missing the point here. If that's what you gleaned, brother, I suggest highly you read scriptures or listen to it again. It's for discipline that brother Paul puts his children through those rigors. He even references how if he were living on a farm, that those chores wouldn't be necessary. Please get that mindset out from your mind. It's a lie from the devil. There are roles that are defined for men and women. If you are referring to those, then I stand corrected. But any deviation from those predefined roles according to our blessed God's wisdom, you're on a slippery slope heading to fulfilling the desires of your own flesh or the "pride of life".

He misuses this passage spoken about how to be saved (Jesus, the narrow way), and the ravening wolves. Instead of rightly explaining this is about false prophets, he misuses it presumably to instill fear into believers, (or worse - keep the lost, lost). Washer never really preaches the good news of the gospel to give them hope, but a false gospel of man-centered works.
Washer wrongly defines the narrow way, and instead of applying that way to being Jesus, He applies it instead to works or behavior, as if a person’s walk is the narrow way. As if somehow a believer’s salvation is based on a lifetime of works.

    Reflection from a single woman:
I often say-excuses-that I have to take care of ‘things’. I need to be a responsible accountable adult so I am not a burden on others.
‘Real intention is not to be obedient but to make a name for yourself’
This is convicting and can bring sadness to my heart.
As I reflect: what came to me is if I take care of things, if I show others I am a capable person maybe they will value and love me.
I am still looking for approval and hoping to be valued by others here on this earth.
    Father forgive me.

The long and short of it is: tell them the desired behaviour and not what they should not do. In the end, it means the same but, it is the desired behaviour that is heard, not the behaviour that you need them to not do. E.g. you go to the living room and find you precious one jumping on the sofa. Go to the child, gently take him/her from off the sofa, place him/her on the floor and say: "When you want to jump, jump on the floor. Please remember, jump on the floor, we sit on the sofa" and walk away. You may need to repeat it but state the positive/the desired behaviour only. PVEL.

On disciplining children: the Holy Spirit just spoke to my heart in agreement with your point on the level of relationship. It’s discipleship 1stly. When Mary received the news that she we bear a Mesiah, she asked how and the Angel had patience to explain to her how. When Zachariah doubted the same news, he was “punished” because he had longer standing relationship with God and ought to have understood the things of God better than Marry (a much younger woman at the time). 25:00, you’re completely right. I struggle with habitual sin, and yes I should talk with my pastor about it, but in my church the Lord provided a leader which can help me daily on this struggle. An accountability partner who knows what I’m going through, and has overcome that struggle with the help of God.
He is in line with what the pastor teaches from the word of God and so he teaches me how to be in line with the word of God.
If you struggle with habitual sin, you cannot do it alone. Pray for a church that can provide accountability and a fellowship of men (in my case) that can help you
