And for the final day of the holiday, Toothless begged Hiccup for his old tailfin so they could fly together, and destroyed his self controlled tailfin. Just a fun fact not everyone will catch. ☺️🫶🏻

31:24 That was from the first movie when Astrid asked hiccup what he was going to do about stoick and the rest heading off to the nest with toothless :)
Fun Fact: The children of Toothless and the Light Fury are called Night Lights which is just adorable! I was actually gifted little plushies of them by my family due to how much I love HTTYD. I am glad all three of you enjoyed this trilogy so much as it was a big part of my childhood and made a big impact on me growing up. I look forward to more reactions and listening to everyones insight!
Yes, the "what are you going to do about it?" "probably something stupid" between Astrid and Hiccup is directly from the first HTTYD movie when the rest of the vikings capture toothless to take him to the dragon nest, it's so wholesome and sweet that they brought it back.
In the first movie the nightfury was described as being the spawn of lightning and death itself, if i remember correctly. He hasn't been able to use the lightning ability with Hiccup on his back this whole time, so it makes sense. I guess the dragon skin armor made Hiccup immune this time?
Or it could have something to do with his age like the back scales he didn't even know he had until the second movie, that hiccups mum brought out. She says that toothless is a teenager just like hiccup, so it's fair to say that he's probably just figuring things out with time, especially since all the other night fury's have been killed so he can't learn from fellow night fury's. 🤷♀️
I do wonder why Hiccup was unaffected. I mean, in the 2nd movie it made sense that Hiccup was safe because he was underneath Toothless, but this time it's not clear why he wouldn't be thrown off Toothless' back in the explosion.
@carolinaa.4407 additionally, since the suit was made from Toothless' shed scales (like Toothless tail fin being covered with crushed up scales) his suit took on the invisibility as well. Edit: wording
So the whole lightning thing from Toothless before he becomes „invisible“ is actually something he learned from another dragon (Skrill) in the series. Quite a few things from the series can be seen in the movies and that’s just so many bonus points in terms of continuity
This trilogy was my entire childhood. I still remember crying at the end because many people grew up watching this movie and also watched everyone in the movie grow up to adults. Seriously it is one of my most favourite movie 😭❤
Same, I was 18 when the last moive came out but I ended watching the whole animated series and the trilogy multiple times since. I love this story so much ❤
I’m so glad that you guys enjoyed the trilogy. When the first one came out I was 9 and since then I was enchanted by this world. When the last out came out I was 18. And to just have grown with these characters and watch the lessons they learned about needing to become there own person, has truly stuck with me. I appreciate anyone who actually takes the time to watch these films. So thank you guys for being great. It really did deserve that 45/45 answers. I highly recommended, whether or not you watch it on the channel to check out the series and the 3 short films they have. They DO NOT disappoint. And I believe they make the movies better.
There will never be a day when I see the ending of the HTTYD trilogy and not have tears pricking the back of my eyes. The story and John Powell's music just go hand in hand to create these absolutely beautiful movies. Amazing trilogy. Can't wait to see the live action HTTYD in 2025.
How to train your dragon is one of my fave trilogies! Also the “what are you gonna do about it?” “Probably something stupid.” Line is actually a call back to the first film not the second.
Toothless trying to court and impress the Light Fury is, by far, the most adorable animated sequence I've ever seen. That alone makes this movie the best of the three, in my opinion.
Did you catch that the baddie is a reflection of Hiccup, the what if? scenario if Hiccup had killed Toothless when he first caught him? He has the same kind of intelligence as Hiccup too.
Fun fact the strange "mating dances" Toothless did were references to popular internet videos of 2 different birds doing their mating dances. Also there was a cut story line that Mason would have hated then where Drago was going to show up with his own dragon to help Hiccup defeat Grimmel and with a deep appreciation for dragons as his that he was riding saved his life.
Another cool thing I noticed about this movie was that toothless and his love interest (light fury) is a reflection of Hiccup and Astrid’s relationship. Not only the personality aspect but their eye colours aswell are reflected (Hiccup with green as like Toothless and Astrid with blue eyes like the Light Fury) or am I reading too much into it 😂😂😂😂
The farewell wrecked me and then cried again with the reunion at the very end. I still cry even now. As always great reaction and it’s pleasure rewatching these movies with you guys 🎉
Absolutely loved your reactions to all 3 of these films. A cool detail that someone pointed out to me is that the villain in the 3rd one is basically how Hiccup could have turned out if he had killed Toothless like he set out to in the 1st film. Grimmel says that when he killed his first Night Fury he then set out to kill them all. He also builds all the kind of contraptions Hiccup would have if he turned bad. Please react to Encanto, I think all of you, but especially The Oak will appreciate the important lessons behind the film.
27:26 FYI, they're not babies, I think they're fire worm dragons, their whole body burns "hotter then the sun" or so it says, that's also as big as they get. They show up in the TV series. Also, the really big red ones at 27:38 are timber jacks, I think they show up (in the book of dragons that hiccup reads)in the first movie and also the TV series, they can slices through entire forest with their wings...that or their typhoom-rangs, called that because when they start to fly they spin around first. 27:55 good call, I didn't even see the two light furies when I first watched.
Amazing amazing trilogy. My kids and I rewatch the 3rd the most, so I guess that's our favorite. Grown up Hiccup and Astrid always get me choked up lol
Guys, I cried a river. I grew up watching Hiccup and Toothless (especially with the fact that I relate with Hiccup a lot) so it was heartbreaking to see them sperate, have a family, but always having each other in their hearts 😭
This trilogy is definitely going down as a classic. The fact that everyone is already saying that now is just a tell. It honestly sets a standard for future animation that I think no other studio is even capable in following suit of. Every property of this franchise through to the last Christmas special has top notch quality control, like they actually cared about the content of this franchise and the story it tells rather than purely how much money it would make. They actually accepted the principle of “If the quality is there the money will come”, and it worked perfectly. Every show and special is also an absolute treasure trove of character world building content that makes the world feel more full and rich, as well as the characters. A once in a lifetime franchise no doubt.
at 27:27 for anyone interested, those arent baby dragons, they are adult fire worms living in a hive struktur with a Queen pretty much like bees. They were introduced in the Dragon riders or defenders of berk series and have popped up in race to the edge aswell
This is my favorite movie trilogy. The way that the first movie is so incredible but somehow gets even better as the trilogy finishes is just top tier.
Im so Happy that you guys dont blame the Lightfury for The Dragons leaving because a lot of people do that, Its always making me Angry because its not her fault, she would have stayed with them but Hiccup finally realised that it just wasnt safe for them and never will be (and i absoloutely love the Lightfury)
I think the most amazing detail is when Hiccup is saying goodbye to Toothless, it reverses the movement of when he first put his hand out to Toothless in the first movie.
You did not disappoint with this series! I am so glad you loved HTTYD as much as I, and many others, do! I hated seeing it end all over again! 😊 I couldn't ask for more than straight "5's" across the board for the series.❤️ HTTYD: Homecoming is the final short movie (around 30 minutes) that came out. It takes place after Hiccup and Astrid's marriage, but before the family goes to the Hidden World to visit Toothless. It's worth a watch, even if you don't watch any of the other HTTYD content...and there is a lot.😊 "Rise of the Guardians," "Brave" and "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" are all awesome animated movies to think about watching, too.
So to explain why Toothless only does it with electricity, remember the original descriptor for Nightfuries? It read "The unholy offspring of *lighting* and *death* itself." it's very cleverly implied that Nightfuries have a connection with lightning this is also because they are semi-related to Skrills who are entirely powered up by lightning and can even shoot breaths of lightning as well. If I were you guys I'd watch the HTTYD cartoon series because it introduces more dragons and really shows how Hiccup grows up to be a great leader.
39:35... It is interesting you bring up villains because the 2nd and 3rd movies had one main villain (with secondary ones), but the villain in the first movie was everyone but Hiccup. Even Toothless was the villain. But after each act, the villains became allies. Toothless and Hiccup bonded, Astrid and Hiccup bonded, his friends went along with it, and then finally Hiccup and his father bonded. By the end of the 1st movie and the start of the 2nd one, all of the villains were external to his clan.
A Little Fact: The little glowing dragons flying beside Astrid and Hiccup when they entered the hidden World weren't Babies. They are called "Fireworms” and are the smallest kind of dragons. They only become 25-30 centimeters tall. The only exception, is the Queen. She is the leader and the mother of the fireworms and is a lot taller, around 11 meters/36 feet. They prefer living in caves, in a beehive like system, and they defend themselves through heat their bodies to extremely high temperatures so that no one can approach them. The Queen also can inject a deadly venom through her tongue and has a high level of intelligence. They are also one of the few dragon species that also glow outside the hidden world. The closer they are to a conspecific, the brighter they shine.
Seeing the epilogue kinda reminded me of when we watched the final Harry Potter movie. It's always cool seeing a bit of a timeskip and seeing what adult versions of our childhood heroes look like. It was a great series, and you can't go wrong with a good trilogy!
There's a HTTYD animated series set between movies 1 & 2 that you guys might enjoy checking out. I really enjoyed it, and think it keeps the themes and characterisation from the movies really well. It's called DreamWorks Dragons, and there's 8 seasons. There's also Rescue Riders and The Nine Realms, but I haven't seen those ones.
This entire trilogy is just fantastic. Yeah, it's a lot of fun, but it has a surprising amount of depth, and tackles some serious emotional issues, like loss, death, feeling like an outsider, not living up to your parent's expectations, self-belief, etc....The animation is amazing, and the music and sound design compliments everything and makes the overall experience. Seeing this in 3D in the cinema was such a treat, the flying scenes were just breathtaking.
If you love the movies, you should check out the TV series. There's one series that happens after the first movie and they're all young. Then there's one when they're older, right before the second movie. You get to know the characters a lot better.
This is my favorite! The story, the characters, the parallels, the animation, it's all just breathtaking. I remember seeing this in theaters and immediately wanting to see it again. That end scene is just so touching🖤
I don’t know if this is canon, but it kind of makes me sad to think about the end because it was years like YEARS later and they were both there waiting for each other which means throughout the years they probably would both go visit but you know at different times just waiting, hoping the other would show up because they were both longing for each other for so long. Brings tears to my eyes
This movie has some Thor Ragnarok feel to it ,,We are Berk,, and not just because they are both inspired from The Norse mythology. This series of movies made my childhood and I m garteful for them 🤩🤩😏💖💖💖💖💖Love and respect what you guys do .👏👏
I love your reactions along the three movies. This is, by far, the most well-constructed, coherent trilogy. And I agree, this third movie was beautiful. I watched this movie, and by that time, I had my dog, who was with me for 18 years. He got unwell, he was having a hard time breathing... I let him go after I watched this last movie. I cried a river and more. But somehow hiccup's words brought comfort to my soul.
I just checked your youtube 4 times today just because I was so eager to see your guys reaction and it did not disappoint! I love y'all's reactions so much they always make my day :D
That moment of toothless bumping into the wall & doing the dancing & your reactions to it was so funny! 😄 wow! What a pretty sight there from 27:00 🤩 a nice wholesome ending to the movie, felt more lighthearted than previous one.
As I saw some other comments say, I highly recommend watching Riders of Berk (Peacock), Defenders of Berk (Peacock), and Race to the Edge (Netflix). They fill the gap in between HTTYD 1 and 2 with Riders/Defenders taking place shortly after 1 and RTTE a year before 2. I would say just go straight to RTTE cause that's the really good stuff, but there are characters and backstories that you need to know from Riders/Defenders.
I love how the three movies tells the classic Hero's Story. First movie is all about identity. Second movie is about grow up and taking responsibility. Lastly the third is about letting go. It's a wonderful trilogy and my favorite. I am glad you enjoyed it as much as i did when I first saw it.
I'm so happy you enjoyed the trilogy, it's my favorite one. I hope you watch Arcane!!! Arcane is a FANTASTIC animated tv show that is super complex, it's not really for kids, rather for teens and up; it has incredibly beautiful animation and concept designs, and a very moving story. "There is nothing as undoing as a daughter." It's about sisters, found siblings, father daughte relationships, and injustice and trying to make things right. I really recommend it, you'll enjoy it.
i love that the light fury and the night fury put together is called the night lights which is so cute when you take into account the fact the hidden world is kind of dark yet lit by the neon colours where they were born and raised
I’ve been watching your reactions for awhile and I just have to say I love your end analysis. Especially Oak, I feel always touches on topics I feel most reactors miss. Bravo to all three of you. Love your analysis 💜

I love that the flashback to Stoick inspiring Hiccup about the Edge of the World show that he want's to get rid of the dragons by "closing" the sort-of portal. Which means, he couldve also meant peacefully doing that and it improves the 1st movie Version of him
21:35 cool and awesome call back from the first movie when hiccup is reading the night fury description from the book "the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself". Awesome movie glad you guys enjoyed it, and grimmel is the best villain for me because he fights using his intelligence as his main strength unlike drago. Grimmel was able to kill a sleeping night fury, it means he was stealthy enough to not wake a freaking dragon up, and he manage to study the night fury behavior like how they can't survive the cold, and can't fly long distances. Awesome villain and awesome trilogy, and also when astrid and hiccup enters the hidden world and you guys mention the glowing little dragons and called it baby dragons, well those are just small dragons called the fire worms, a type of dragon than is burning 24/7 and the fire worm queen can even reach temperature close to the sun. If you guys plans to react to the series you'll see new dragons their and it's also fun.
I would say he is more evil than Drago. Drago was in front of your face, a tidal wave of borrowed power. Grimmel is manipulative, sly, cunning and could possibly make you like him. That is far more scary.

@@fettel1988 well, to be fair their were way more childish than Clone Wars, even tho that says more about CW than the HTTYD series.
Id recommened the tv shows, yes they can be a little be childish at the start, but the villains in the shows are sooo good
@@Berry_84 It also acts as the entire relationship for the two mains between movie 1 and 2, where it's clear they're a THING.
31:24 That was from the first movie when Astrid asked hiccup what he was going to do about stoick and the rest heading off to the nest with toothless :)
fun little fact! Grimmel is how Hiccup would’ve turned out if he had killed Toothless
And Drago is What Stoick could have been
@@AnCatalyst no
@@cptayne yes he is
@@AnCatalyst nope, 2 different characters completely
@@cptayne he could have ended up like him tho if he wouldnt have accepted the dragons in the end💀
Hiccup and Toothless reuniting as dads always strikes a chord in my heart. They both had a little boy & girl.❤
@@thoughtful1233 he made his suit from toothless shed scales, I guess that protected him
@carolinaa.4407 additionally, since the suit was made from Toothless' shed scales (like Toothless tail fin being covered with crushed up scales) his suit took on the invisibility as well.
I love this story so much ❤
There are canon animated series if you miss the franchise. Riders and Defenders of Berk and then Race to the Edge 😊
The big dragon that Oak noticed is the same alpha that toothless defeated in the 2nd movie. (you can see it has one broken tusk and one cuffed)
Just have to say. Since I found your channel your videos have been a highlight every week 🙌🏻
^
Very Kind of you! Glad you are enjoying and thank you for spending some of your time with us!
DreamWorks are known for their sequels.. HTTYD , Shrek, Puss in boots, Kung fu panda. They are amazing 👏👏
Same
Absolutely loved your reactions to all 3 of these films.
This trilogy finishes pretty strong for most. So glad you guys reacted and enjoyed them ❤
27:26
FYI, they're not babies, I think they're fire worm dragons, their whole body burns "hotter then the sun" or so it says, that's also as big as they get.
"I just noticed he's got braids"
Oh buddy. We watched Astrid tying those in the second movie. If you remember, Stoic had his own too
This trilogy is definitely going down as a classic.
Consistently the best movie reaction vids on YT, Love to you all.
Much appreciated and thank you for watching with us.
at 27:27 for anyone interested, those arent baby dragons, they are adult fire worms living in a hive struktur with a Queen pretty much like bees. They were introduced in the Dragon riders or defenders of berk series and have popped up in race to the edge aswell
No matter how many times I've seen this third movie, I always cry😅
This is my favorite movie trilogy. The way that the first movie is so incredible but somehow gets even better as the trilogy finishes is just top tier.
Never saw HTTYD movies bevor your reactions now because of your great reactions I watching everything
I'm not kidding I'm obsessed with your channel
🤜🤛😁
Same man. I'll get to work and just start one of thier playlists sns listen all day at work. Haha 😅
If you haven't seen the Kit Harrington and Toothless audition, please don't miss it.
That is hilarious.
I watched that bit so many times it was so cute!
It's always make me happier when I'm watching it. It's so good.
I just love this movie so much. Masterpiece. I hate how it's not as recognized as it should be!
😊 I couldn't ask for more than straight "5's" across the board for the series.❤️
HTTYD: Homecoming is the final short movie (around 30 minutes) that came out. It takes place after Hiccup and Astrid's marriage, but before the family goes to the Hidden World to visit Toothless. It's worth a watch, even if you don't watch any of the other HTTYD content...and there is a lot.😊
"Rise of the Guardians," "Brave" and "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" are all awesome animated movies to think about watching, too.
This movie got me sobbing at the end where she saved hiccup and the wedding and all that 😭 amazing trilogy I just ahh 😩😩
I just love to watch how grown up men are melt every time they see Toothless cute behavior)
Actually if you look, the Bewilderbeast IS the one from movie 2. It has the cuff and missing tusk.
I feel like we're just best friends now, watched pretty much all of your videos. Absolutely amazing stuff guys
Mason: "The creativity with these dragons in here is just outstanding!"
HTTYD: Race to the Edge: You haven't seen nothin' yet
There's a HTTYD animated series set between movies 1 & 2 that you guys might enjoy checking out. I really enjoyed it, and think it keeps the themes and characterisation from the movies really well. It's called DreamWorks Dragons, and there's 8 seasons. There's also Rescue Riders and The Nine Realms, but I haven't seen those ones.
The off-spring of Night Fury and Light Fury have been given the name "Night-lights"
I remember seeing this in theater and I pretty much bawled the entire way through.
They have a christmas movie with toothless and his kids it's so cute. It's short but so sweet (how to train your dragon: homecoming)
These movies are some of my favorite stories ever. Toothless is unmatched. HTTYD definitely doesn’t get enough hype!
Top tier trilogy, 10/10, gives you every emotion that you could want
Brings tears to my eyes
the ending makes me so emotional it's crazy
This movie has some Thor Ragnarok feel to it ,,We are Berk,, and not just because they are both inspired from The Norse mythology. This series of movies made my childhood and I m garteful for them 🤩🤩😏💖💖💖💖💖Love and respect what you guys do .👏👏
3D Rick Sanchez was actually kinda terrifying in this
Thanks guys for getting these out so quickly! I’ve seen a few reactions to the trilogy, but by far y’all have been my favorite ❤️
I love this series but my personal favorite is number 2 just because how mature the storyline is for our characters.
39:02 I hope we get a 4th movie where they can return one day or childhood me will be sobbing forever ❤
I just checked your youtube 4 times today just because I was so eager to see your guys reaction and it did not disappoint! I love y'all's reactions so much they always make my day :D
Glad you guys loved the trilogy, the short films and the series are great as well hope you guys check them out.
10 years... I grew up with these movies. I did cry in the theater when it came to an end
I love how the three movies tells the classic Hero's Story. First movie is all about identity. Second movie is about grow up and taking responsibility. Lastly the third is about letting go. It's a wonderful trilogy and my favorite. I am glad you enjoyed it as much as i did when I first saw it.
This was one of my favourite ends to a series, I absolutely sobbed at the end credits 😢 😂
That plot line worked better for Viggo Grimborn, but it wouldn’t work for someone like Drago.
i love that the light fury and the night fury put together is called the night lights which is so cute when you take into account the fact the hidden world is kind of dark yet lit by the neon colours where they were born and raised
i cannot get over how much personality those dragons have! dreamworks is so underrated.
i cry everytime the i watch the last movie. httyd is one of my favorite animated series, it's just so good!!!
I’ve been watching your reactions for awhile and I just have to say I love your end analysis. Especially Oak, I feel always touches on topics I feel most reactors miss. Bravo to all three of you. Love your analysis 💜
I was 30 when this came out and I literally just had my daughter months before. I was crying so damn much at the theatre while my husband was knocked out the whole time lmao good times, awesome movie, and it’s awesome to know that my daughter LOVES the movies too, she dressed up as the white fury last Halloween >
HEY GUYS!! Grown men giving 5-star reviews to a cartoon movie...OUTSTANDING!! And this is why I keep coming back to watch.
If you guys have never seen it...I hope one day you'll react to the movie...Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with the amazing Dick Van Dyke. I'm never bored watching it over and over again since I was a kid. I know I'll continue to watch it clear into my 80s and beyond...it's that good...in my opinion.
Great job, your reflections on the movies are amazing.
~Dawne
This trilogy is hands-down my favorite ever, and I really enjoyed watching you guys react to it. I will defiantly be checking out some more reactions. Keep up the good work!
Soooo, I wasn't the only one who picked up on Eret and Gobber's interest in each other in this movie, right? *Right?*
I love that the flashback to Stoick inspiring Hiccup about the Edge of the World show that he want's to get rid of the dragons by "closing" the sort-of portal. Which means, he couldve also meant peacefully doing that and it improves the 1st movie Version of him
I grew up watching these as they came out I'll forever rewatch these movies and feel endless emotions I love it all I hope the live action is decent
A mix of a night fury and a light fury is called a nightlight.
The favourite book of our daughters which we discovered at the library years ago. The trilogy is wonderful.
I grew up watching these movies, I cried in the theater at the end. Great video guys 😊😊😊b
