    We are coming at you with a new one on how to do KIPPING PULL UPS! Now hear me out... FOUNDATIONS of these and the TTB can be similar and I PROMISE if you master this first step your gymnastics skills will MULTIPLY fast!!! It is the foundation of everything on the rig and rings!
    Working your way up can be tedious and slow, but in the long run this will set you up for SUCCESS. So make sure to hit these drills either before, after, or just on your off days from working out! They are great!!! We will continue to build our way up so all of these things we learn will get you to that great moment of the BAR MU and HUGE SETS OF BUTTERFLY!

      Again, straight pull-ups are better for you. Butterfly will get you higher numbers for CrossFit or something 😂

    Wonderful video. You are a very good teacher.
    As an ordinary lifter grinding out regular pull ups, I knew kipping was "not for me" but had an imperfect idea of what it actually was and why anyone did it. After watching this, I now understand that (1) it is a gymnastics type movement, not a strength building exercise per se and (2) it is a particular part of a sport. I know that is all pretty obvious but I think a lot of lifers who diss these lose sight of this.
    If I ever did want to learn how to do these, I would start right here.

    An astounding explanation in this video tutorial. Technique, mechanics, movement and even what is required to strengthen your pulls is covered in this video. I’m currently practising my pulls daily but just can’t seem to perfect the rhythm and what is needed to focus on the muscle that strengthens the pull. Now, I can so relate while correcting my pulls. Thanks a bunch!!!

    Wow, Kristi! You explained all the steps clearly. I appreciate that you breakdown your explanation and then model it right away. I wished I had seen this before I did the Open 22.3 today. I have the kipping with swing but my problem is to pull myself up to the bar. Thanks for creating this video step by step. I'll share this to my CrossFit friends who is learning like me.

    Even though I have been able to do Kipping Pull Ups for a while now I don't know that I put that much thought into all the areas that it effects. I have been working on the butterfly and man is it tough for me to get the timing down. Your perspective and thought process on pull ups is wonderful. I look forward to seeing your videos weekly.     Dropping after the pull up instead of pushing away is exactly what I needed to see. I drop and finally realized why they don't feel smooth. Good looks on the easiest explanation. Huge hook up!

    Gymnastics has always been my strong suit but been focusing on OLY lifts and aerobic capacity for the last several months. Lately I have realized that my pull ups and toes 2 bar aren’t as strong and flawless as they used to be.     Great video! I enjoyed the build up to the Kipping pull up! Breaking it down to the basic is extremely helpful! My former trainer never really had me do the lat pull downs and more focus on the negative pull ups which was hard for me & my grip was terrible! Thanks for this video!

      Just do pullups the right way, if you cant then work on lat pulldowns untill you can because kipping pullups are retarded and dont do anything other than put strain on your shoulder joints

      strict pullups are great, and we do alot of them, Kipping or butterfly pullups are a skill for the sport i compete in.

    Thank you for the instructional video. Can you do an instructional video for a clean jerk? I was wondering the correct stance and grip for a clean and jerk. Some say a narrow is best and some say a wide grip is better.

      Yes! After our "rig" sessions we will start to move to barbell. But a great place to start is thumb length from the knurling!

    What grip do you use for the kipping? Idk if my bar is to thick or my grip is wrong. When I swing at the top I have to regrip. My hands are sliding of.

      Make sure to lock those wrist! If they rotate on the way down it will put all the grip strength to the finger tips!
