Wait were u talking to me Felix? haha! Hot Sauce and Fish Tacos hellzz yah! I was just chillin not expecting a shout out at all and was like... ummm am i high right now? LOL! Thanks for the shout!
hi, amanda and felix! i grew up in kapahulu - went to waikiki elementary and kalani too. of course, amanda is 8 years younger than me. i really like your videos because you'll film places that i used to frequent when i was a kid. like walking home on monsarrat (however you spell it) and working on kapahulu ave area. one day i will move back when i'm near retirement!
Been binge watching your vids since your Jaycation collab. And not only do yall have great taste in food, I just know from Amanda's band tee collection that she has great taste in music. 🤘
My Auntie has condo at Royal Kuhio. Seeing this video just reminds me of home. Mahalo Amanda for saying..keep these parks better then you received them. Aloha for my Ohanas to urs. is Konos still new location on Kapahulu. I know Haleiwa is still pumping Triple Crown. Thanks for the Show!
Thanks for the all the restaurants you guys have mentioned. I will be Wakiki in middle September. May I ask if you can do Coconut and Taro at McDonald's? Take care and be safe.
My 2 cents on the new coke zero....I feel the old coke zero was actually sweeter and less carbonated, but I usually drink it over ice. I don't know if it is watered down, but felt the flavor wasn't as intense and there is a different flavor at the end like a spice or something. Only had a can to try. Will have to try again. Love Nandings. Ube pandesal looked amazing. Never knew they came filled. Will have to try. Hope the both of you are doing well.
Fish tacos look ono! No pun intended : ) I tried the new coke zero--don't like it--it is less carbonated and has a saccharine-like after taste to me. I gotta try the baby tako. Nanding's pastries are mouth-watering! Great video!
I want to thank you two for your videos. I've found them so helpful in planning. I'm bringing my channel (Tiki71) there in February, staying at the Moana,. The hotel beach bar menu features a $28 cheeseburger and there's NO WAY it can be that good. HA! I'm having a hard time finding a good place for all you can eat snow crab legs. Recommendations? Mahalo!
Sorry guys not part of the #soggyfrygang, I love my crunchy fries!! Definitely will get some fish tacos soon now after watching this video, looked so ʻono!! I don’t know if its just me, but I don’t taste a difference. Probably cause I don’t drink it enough too 😝
Talking about Spanish, have y’all done any Puerto Rican food? I heard there is a food truck and a restaurant called Coquitos. Can’t vouch for them, though. Not all Puerto Rican food is created equal. It would be nice to have a segment on them.
Nice one! I used to work at South Shore Grill and I can confirm the owner is an avid surfer. Bruce, you're the best boss I've ever had😂 The fish burrito will never leave my heart, ono grinds for sure
I wish I saw your Pioneer Saloon when I was in Hawaii! Looks bomb! Can you please review Uber Factory in Wahiawa? Hours are tricky and they sell out early! Thanks for another great video!
Spanish rolls are an all time favorite at our potlucks!! They have so many great small restaurants in Kapahulu!! Mahalo for your videos so funny!! Support Local!! Malama the Aina!!!
Watched your channel for a few months now. Liked it so much I subscribed. As a former local who visits Waikiki annually, I loved this segment for visitors who walk beyond the Waikiki scene for good food. I may have passed you on the street as I was in the same neighborhood on your filming day.
Loved your choices and great to see you posting again. I've been a big fan of Pioneer Saloon, both the Kapahulu and the SALT locations. Love their big menu featuring meats and lots of seafood. My wife loves their gooey neba neba which features natto, yamaimo, fresh poke, and okra. Gooey, slimy but oh so ono! I waited forever for Nanding to open their Kapahulu location. I always had to drive to their Gulick location to get Filipino baked goods for the family.
Pandasal! OMG! Love pandasal! Remember when I was small kid time one of my best friend's parents opened a Filipino bakery and the pandasal flowed like water. Love pandasal!
You went to another place owned by my friends! Jen and Bruce and their kids are great people. Bruce is also one of the pastors at our church, One Love Ministries in Kaka’ako. And yes, Bruce is a local surfer.
Looking forward to that plate lunch review of Pioneer Saloon! Was checking them out online. Literally took my breath away seeing all their ono grinds 🤤. Hint - you all’s need to bring the Vons along for that one.
@@AmandaFelixEatsYou are very welcome guys Hazels wrist is doing a lot better and I am having shoulder surgery on the 21st me self so keep the vlogs coming so I have something good to watch
Good to see you back in action!! Agreed on da new Coke Zero, definitely not improved…. Kinda a bummer. South shore is ono! Mahalo’s for supporting locals! Aloha 😎🤙🏾
I had lunch at Pioneer last weekend. Indoor and outdoor seating was open. It's my go to for seafood plates. Garlic ahi steak medium rare, deep fried halibut etc. So good! I finally upgraded to the shiso wakame rice and it's def a must! Even love their pasta salad. I can't do baby tako. Maybe if it was called mini tako. Keep up the great work!
The custard pie at Nanding's is also good. At my local Filipino bakery on the mainland, Spanish rolls are called senoritas and always a favorite at Asian parties, and ensaymadas have a sugar and shredded cheese topping.
Always on the lookout for a good custard pie. The best IMO was Bakery Kapiolani. Fresh and hot from the oven. Always used to eat plenty when it was warm and soft like warm pudding. But good thing it's gone. I would be a Bumbocha.
Cool, eating fries and taco with chopsticks! No probs, I do that, too. But I know I won't see anyone on da mainland doing that. BTW, congrats for the 16K subs!
Yumm! I think they call those sweet rolls “ Senioritas” here, and they are bomb!!! Am really craving that fresh seafood grill! Here, it’s frozen for who knows how long! Those baby tako look adorable n yummy at the same time!!! Bravo to Amanda for seamlessly picking up the ball when Felix dropped it ( in your bloopers) where he lost his words! We enjoy watching you guys so much; such a cute couple. Your personalities compliment each other, too. Keep up the good work! Hey, have you guys found a good Mexican restaurant? We've tried some in the Kaimuki and Kapahulu area...but were not impressed.
Aloha! Great videos! I would love to visit back home again (raised in Ewa Beach), but now doesn’t seem like a good time. Just a suggestion, for locals that can’t travel right now but miss Hawaii food so much, video of delicious local foods/business that ship to mainland..Thanks and stay safe! 😀
Yeah, you guys are spot on with the Coke Zero! I thought it was just me. My first thought was that it is less carbonated and a little sweeter. If that's what I wanted, I would buy Pepsi! The reason I liked the OG Coke Zero is the powerful carbonation and not so sweet. This is going to be like Coke's past mistake to redo the original formula. Remember NEW Coke? People hated it so much that Coke had to bring back Coke Classic. When New Coke sales tanked, they just got rid of it and Coke Classic became just Coke again.
@@sammatsusaka823 Well, I like Coke Zero (black can) because of the strong carbonation, less sweet, and it actually tastes good without the usual artificial sweetener aftertaste. This is why I don't care for Diet Cook either. We need to band together and write a class action message to Coke and tell them to keep the black can Coke Zero!! LOL!
This video is obviously pre injury Felix. Thats okay. Love it anyway.
