So glad you got to try it. My faves are the Town & Country and the Tonkatsu with Chorizo gravy. They're pretty popular with the workers so they usually sell out by 12:30pm ish so go around 10:45-11:30 if you can. Rudy (The Owner) takes a lot of pride in what he serves to his customers and it shows. Those shrimp katsus are MEATY, high quality stuff.

Aloha Misty!! We love Streats of Aloha! We met them through their ohana Reecie B’s. They definitely pack a heavy plate!! Fried noodles with the shrimp stick are some of our favorites from them. We enjoy the Filipino dishes they do too!! Cannot wait to try some of their other dishes soon! Mahalo as always for showcasing a great spot! Have a great week ahead!!

Thanks for always letting us know the hidden spots and I like that they give a lot.. but lots of quality too. Oh and the dessert.. I would get that at Bale a lot . BAM is right! Those were some huge, delicious-looking plate lunches. The last time I had jello cheesecake was at Zippy's a long time ago. Thanks for the memories.

Try also calling it in. I waited for a bit as they were kind of busy. Unless you don't mind waiting. We ate some for dinner yesterday and I ate some for lunch today. And we still have lots more left! I'll release the walk on Monday. 😊🤙

@Coyote_529 LOL uh oh. Someone said they went at around 1030 and had lots of parking. I went at 1130 and it was a madhouse with all the workers. Make sure you look at their IG because some days they're closed and only do their lunch truck. Seems like it's Tuesdays but just in case so you don't waste gas. 👍

Hoh! Just from the intro Kanak Atttack footage i passed out 😴😪! Even the table is buckling under the weight 😅, garanz can make 3 meals or one massive end of the day feast. Servings so big it's the plate lunch that keeps on giving by finding the taegu and kim chee 🤙. Guava bacon 👀🤤? Love me some rainbow jello!
Yes we still got little bit pork and kim chi fried rice leftover. We made 3 meals out of it. I think it was worth the price and I didn't mind eating it as leftovers. 😊

@MarkFromHawaii I think everything was so ono except the Teri beef was not my style and the kim chi fried rice was mushy. I think if I were to get the Town and Country next time I'll ask if I can sub the Teri beef for something else. 😊

Hey Misty 👋 That Town and Country is one of the best looking plate food ever ! Great choice 😋 On a different note there seems a common theme with the small hole in the wall places, they either close mid afternoon or until sold out. I’m guessing they have loyal local customers !

Aloha Misty: You did find feature a good lunch place on Sand Island. I was amazed, and “growling” after see you present the offerings of this restaurant. Streets of Aloha is a place I am looking forward to visiting the next time I visit Sand Island! For breakfast, the food and prices sound very good - hope you are able to try it for breakfast; definitely vlog the dining experience. I am looking forward to the next great vlog. The plate was awesome and I'd get it again. Maybe I'd sub the Teri beef for something else even if it would cost extra.

Oh sista stop tantalizing my taste buds. Wishing we were there with you. Town and country shrimp katsu looks ono.Oh I saw scallops for 20.00. looks ono also. I don't like sweet teriyaki beef either. I love the savory one. Cuttlefish looks pretty good. Debbie ate those jello squares with Japanese jello. Brings back memories to Debbie as well. Bless you Misty & have a great night.

Wow your mom did have patience and also a knack for cooking because no matter how patient I would be the buggah would be crooked and hammahjang. Like the colors would meld together and end up looking like the water you'd rinse your watercolor brush with. 🤣

Thank you! So sorry but believe it or not I don't like both 🤣 I think I don't like the sourness of it. But there is Toshi's on King St near Palace Saimin (got to go early), Gulick Deli, Matsumoto's Okazuya (diagonally across Gulicks) that make cone and maki sushi. I was told Jay's Sushi in City Square where Youngs Fish Market is makes cone sushi. I ate there but just ordered nigiri and enjoyed it. Hope that helps. There's Mitsuba closest to you but you probably know about them I assume.

Isn’t the white the milk layer? This is similar to what my elementary and high school cafeteria manager called jello cheese cake desert. Does the kimchi fried rice come with the shrimp katsu? I will head out to this place after I retire and have more time to exercise , so I can afford the calories provided❤, yum!
Yes the white is like a milk layer. The Zippy's Jello cheesecake has a graham cracker crust, then topped with cream cheese like a cream cheese pie and topped with several layers of Jello. I think they still sell them in Napoleon's Bakery. The kim chi fried rice only comes with the gochujang pork, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask them to sub it in the Town and Country plate. Not sure if they would do it or not, as that plate only has one scoop of rice. Most of the starch is noodles. 😊

I'm with you on teri beef. It is definitely not on my list for plate lunches. The thing with these types of establishments is that their portions are usually massive. Need to have mini portions also.
I do like minis, but if it's a big plate I don't mind as I make it numerous meals.

What was the prices on the plates
Sorry I don't do prices anymore since people complain that it's too expensive. You can see some of the prices on my shots of the specials of the day or look at people's photos on Google Reviews or Yelp for the price.

Cell phone lot on Nimitz that’s my wife & I go to when we buy food to go lol. Only bad thing is on your left that homeless guy occasionally stands up and yells idk what he saying but he yells for no reason startled us the first time now I just ignore it. He’s a lucky guy I see plenty people give him their left over plate lunches
You know da secret lol. The homeless people don't bother me. I'm so used to them. That braddah is lucky to eat all kine plate lunches. My favorite guy was Walter who used to stand on the corner of Camp Catlin and Nimitz. Sometimes I'd buy him a plate lunch for Thanksgiving or whatever holiday. Haven't seen him around so I hope he's ok.

@jondonut1810 I didn't notice him until editing as the screen on my tint Dji is small. However I always bought lunches for my favorite guys Walter and Jay who people though swung swords under Nimtz Hwy but they were silver pipes because he wanted to be a ninja. I also donate to the Maui Food bank often. Hope you do your part too if you ever see someone in need. We all need that in our community. 🤙
It would be nice if you gave us the price of the plate lunch as you are showing it so we could get an idea of the value.

@@FoodFiend I just realized your readers may not understand the term "kau kau plenty". In the plantation days, during lunch break, the workers would gather around in a circle and put their lunches in the center and everyone would share what they brought from home. That activity was called kau kau plenty. One day working in the pineapple fields, a Filipino man called to me and said, "come, come, kau kau plenty" it was a good cultural sharing experience. Love your videos.
