I've never actually played Mario RPG before. But this video made me go from, "meh, I'll guess I'll get the remake to see what the fuss is all about," to genuine excitement for the remake! Your love for the game is infectious and I'm pretty excited to jump into such a beloved classic. The editing was clean, the humor was on point, and the pacing of information was perfect. If you've never played Super Mario RPG... understand that it eclipses all the RPGs (like Paper Mario, etc.) that came after it. It was really one of the best RPGs ever released on the SNES... and that's saying something, since that time was considered the "Golden Era" of RPGs. It contended with FF3(6), Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Breath of Fire. And these were Juggernauts. Again, if you haven't played it, and don't own a Nintendo Switch or can't play the Remake... you can still play the SNES version on emulator. PC or phone. Play it right now and see what the hype for 27 years has been all about.

I'm so glad this game is being remade. Acknowledgement/NSO release would have been good enough, but to see Nintendo and Square Enix work together to revive this game completely is something we don't deserve, but more than welcome it.

im currently 5 stars into mario rpg and its quite good. i cant believe i waited so long to grab a copy! though to be fair, any game that puts bowser in the spotlight gets points with me. my only complaint would be that the run away command NEVER works. why even have it? sadly a common problem for rpg of the time... (side note. i somehow keep buying games and getting half way through them then the remaster gets announced! pacman world, klanoa, metroid prime, mario rpg, honestly im tempted to buy a copy of Nights even though i dont have a saturn just to try my luck!)

I disagree about Geno being all that cool. It's more the game itself making him cool. Yes, he's a cool concept, especially for its time (Let's take Mario and add a celestial doll that shoots GIANT LASER BEAMS!) but as a character....he's pretty meh. Mostly just stands around to give purpose to your entire journey. Square didn't do much making anything resembling a personality. But he, more than anyone else, REPRESENTS this game, and this game is SUCH a treasure, I believe that's why we STILL hear "Geno for Smash" calls to this day. That's why he's still my top pick at least.
Sony make there RPG Game for ps1 called The Legend of Dragoon 1999 in japan but it was not popular. Legend of Dragoon was popular in United States. So i hope sony get Square Enix to help to make The Legend Of Dragoon Remake. Mario RPG and The Legend Of Dragoon has the best Video Games Soundtrack
I'm fine with Super Mario RPG Remake not including The Legend of the Seven Stars because let's not forget that the two Paper Mario games, which was originally gonna be a sequel to Mario RPG, also featured seven stars lol

And I have been looking up a little bit about it now for the remake and this is the first video that made me realize. It’s still a Mario game so it’s going to be simple and easy! Up until this video I always envisioned it being some kind of like difficult, tedious, mature, RPG. Now it sounds like a good time. I only hope that it’s as fun and charming as paper Mario. The game, not the franchise.

I think the art style helped so much with it feeling unique and fun, It's one of my favorite mario games

Actually the sword’s not the main antagonist. It’s a guy called smithy
I did mention that in video! The sword is much more prevalent that's why I focused more on it
that's the plot twist near the end of the game.
