Hey Myke, I though what you said vegetarianism was really on point. I'm 17 and last month I decided to be vegetarian mainly for health reasons, but within the last couple weeks I really pondered upon the place of animals on this planet, so now I'm full on vegan as of last week. It's honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made. I've been losing weight, my body feels much cleaner, my mood has been much more upbeat, I no longer feel tired after a long day of school or working at my job; it's been great. I've been looking up all sorts of vegan recipes to cook myself and most of them that I've tried so far have been delicious so I don't ever see myself ever craving meat again ever. Thanks to you I checked out that website you put in the description and today I even invested in several vegan cookbooks and I can't wait to try them out. Thanks once again Myke for delivering the excellent wisdom.
MrSaturn97 Man, that's awesome! I love hearing stuff like this. Congrats on the transition. I hope it really works out for you. You're around the age when I first went vegan. It was difficult for the first few months, but, as I said, you guys have so many more options nowadays than we did back in the day so if we can make it work, I'm sure you'll be just fine! Keep it up, man!
Loved your points, I'm not a vegetarian (i love meat way too much haha) but everything you said was SPOT on. I don't eat cats or dogs, but i can see why people would eat them as much as i can see why people eat veal, pork etc. I am the exact same way ICP wise as the guy who asked you, i like their earlier stuff, but i am not a juggalo and their newer stuff is quite shitty. keep it up Myke!
TheEmpyrean910 OMFG...I can't believe I actually have to break this down in the simplest of terms for you guys to actually get it. We're talking diet, correct? If we eat the same amount of meat that we would vegetables, guess what. Our bodies will, nine times out of ten, not react positively. Whether this turns into clogged arteries, high blood pressure, obesity, etc., your body is not made to consume meat the way it is to consume vegetables. I wasn't saying I'm going to sit around all day and do nothing but eat ungodly amounts of kale throughout the entire day and do nothing else. Dude, I don't know you at all, but one of the most annoying things to deal with on UA-cam is people casting common sense aside in exchange for some reason to debate. I'm sure had this fucking idiot Dennzer actually read what I said and thought about it, he'd see that it made sense. Or if he was too dumb to decipher the meaning of something, he could ask for clarification instead of going to some dumb extreme. Instead he was stuck on some retarded notion about plants and was determined to not back down no matter how idiotic he sounded. As far as you go, upon reading what I said, you really think I meant eating ONE KIND OF VEGETABLE until you physically can't eat anymore? Is that really what you thought? Or could I have possibly meant VEGETABLES. As in ALL TYPES of vegetables. Meaning I can sit and make as many meals made from vegetables as I want (which would typically mean 3-4 meals a day) and I'm not going to get sick (baring not using common sense and doing something completely stupid like the scenarios that would cause one to get sick). If you are comparing meat consumption to vegetable consumption, there is no comparison when it comes to how the body reacts to this. Put an all meat diet up against an all vegetable diet. In general, which one do you think is going to be healthier? This is so unbelievably basic that I can't believe I had to say it. Come on, bro. I feel what you're saying, but I think some of you guys on here are really not thinking these discussions out and are throwing understanding of simple statements out of the window in exchange for something to react to.
I guess I didn't think you were talking about an all meat diet because I can't see anyone with a reasonable intelligence actually doing that. I still think it doesn't make sense to compare an all meat diet to an all vegetable diet, since there are a lot of nutrients that you can't get from meat, and vegetables are more versatile in terms of nutrients. That doesn't mean meat is bad for you though, you just can't focus your entire diet on it. It just bothers me a bit when people go to extremes and say "I'm not gonna eat any of this, because people who eat too much of it get unhealthy cause of it" because they don't understand nutrition or how diets works. Clearly you have an understating of those things, but a lot of people you make extreme statements about either vegans or meat eaters are misinformed and don't realize that balance is the most important part about a diet.
TheEmpyrean910 I agree. And if homeboy hadn't deleted his post we could point out what I said. The whole point was a vegetarian diet being healthier than a meat-based diet. Even removing the all-meat vs all-vegetable argument...I don't even think it takes an excessive amount of meat to cause problems for a lot of people. A lot of times it's just the inclusion of meat with every meal (which is the standard American diet) which can cause health issues. The human body is not made to process meat. Sure if you treat it a certain way and introduce it to the body in small quantities, there is a large chance your body will not have an adverse reaction to it. But then again...the same thing goes for heroin. (Relax...I'm kinda joking. Kinda.) The point is, when you have a meat-based diet, balance with vegetables are a necessity to keep the body healthy. When you have a plant-based diet, you do NOT need meat at all. But that wasn't even the basis of my stance or this video. I'm not vegan for health reasons at all. I'm vegan for compassion reasons, which is where the discussion with that idiot spawned from. BTW there are people who do all-meat diets as ridiculous as that sounds. It's supposed to support weight loss. Not sure of the logic here because I never researched it for obvious reasons...
I've been vegetarian for just over a year now. I think my diet is alright, I certainly get enough protein through cheese, milk, nuts, spinach... but I probably don't eat enough veg in general - just like I didn't before I went vegetarian! laziness is the biggest problem.
Jonny Khatru Haha! I totally hear that! When I get home from work, the last thing I feel like doing is chopping up and cooking veggies. I'm trying to get better about that!
Great list for the death metal albums...god of emptiness is my favorite death metal song period. I'm in the minority though I actually prefer the tucker period overall..formulas is my favorite morbid angel album..it has such a great almost psychedelic feel and really unique production that I love..what do you think of the Steve tucker period?
What are your thoughts on Kanye's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" and is it a classic to you? Also will DEHH ever review this album on classic reviews?
Try out Like an Everflowing Stream by Dismember,Left Hand Path and Clandestine by Entombed,Into the Grave by Grave,Where no Life Dwells by Unleashed,Severed Survival and Mental Funeral by Autopsy,Cause of Death by Obituary and Reign of Chaos by Bolt Thrower . My picks for Death Metal.
Honestly, I was never into the whole ICP Juggalo thing, but I ended up listening to all the joker cards and I actually fuck with it. I still don't consider myself a juggalo but idk, I actually ended up liking the records, especially the great milenko. The beats were good and they sounded good on them. Yeah their rhymes and what they say are silly but it still somehow sounds good. Idk so much about their new shit. But I can definitely vouch for their old shit. Lmao idk how and why I like them, I guess it's why kids listen to Chief Keef and 2 chainz etc.
I've listened to bits of everything they made and the great milenko is considered one of their better albums. In terms of lyrics they'll never be nearly as good as someone like cage. That said I know as well that not all songs are stupid silly. They might not get much respect but they've had some friends like Ice-T and for that reason I don't think they should be as hated as they are. Either you like horrorcore or you don't
What I love most about Bukowski is that writing came to him as naturally as breathing or drinking a beer, like it was something he was just supposed to do. I'm also a huge Cormac McCarthy fan; The Road and Blood Meridian both shifted the foundation on what I consider to be a great novel.
Loading Mercury With a Pitchfork is pretty great, if you search on that on google, you'll find a collection of some of his best poem in one of the first links (the 3rd one i think)
I've been a vegetarian since birth, moving out tomorrow so I've got to start cooking my own meals/ chopping my own veggies every night haha, that recipe book should come in handy though so, thanks for that
I personally am not vegetarian or vegan, although I have nothing wrong against choosing to go that route, I want to be a chef and have exposed myself to various kinds of food to be as well rounded as possible and have the most culinary knowledge. I feel meat brings a substantial element to the style of cuisine I want to pursue. However, I do agree with what you say Mike in terms of going out to go on such diet. Another great place for recipes of the vegan persuasion is Vegan Black Metal Chef, who has a channel on UA-cam that I think is solid!
A friend of mine told me about when ICP would do rock-rap shows Friday nights at a bar in Toledo before they were famous. Apparently a lot of their stuff they did was never recorded and pretty good (that seems like a stretch, lol). He showed me some pictures and it was them, but they used masks, not paint sometimes
I couldn't agree more with your 5 Pillars of Death Metal although I think Suffocation's Effigy of the Forgotten deserves some love when it comes to influential and essential Death Metal albums.
CarlHH777 Suffocation definitely deserves to be up there. I'd say Pierced From Within over Effigy Of The Forgotten...but not enough to argue it. Both are incredible albums to me.
Really got interested into the bakawsi book especially when you read the secret and I'm gonna try the death metal one you advised for beginners and although i eat meat i am interested in vegan/vegetarian dishes because they are more healthy in my opinion thanks for the great vid
Myke C-Town Dude, THANK YOU for answering my question !!! It was hands down the highlight of my week !! And I love your standpoint on Bukowski. I never felt that Hank was misogynistic either, he was just dealt a shitty hand when it came to luck with women. I think any guy that's been fucked over by some two timing bitch can relate to Charles Bukowski. Really he's a great writer no matter what he's addressing: drinking, going to the race track, working at the boring post office... He finds a way to say the most profound things in a way that I feel the common man can relate. Also, your reading of The Secret was fantastic !!! And if you want to check out a new writer, find the book Newspaper Blackout by Austin Kleon. It kind of makes me think of Burroughs-esque Haiku. Pretty cool stuff !
Have you heard the album On Strange Loops by Mithras? It sounds like mid-career Morbid Angel with a serious spacey psychedelic bent. It's been an absolute obsession of mine for the past few months, I've been trying to spread word of it to anybody who might enjoy it, it is incredible.
I myself like ICP, not as big into them as I used to be when I was first introduced to them in middle school and high school but I can still find their music entertaining (With Mike Clarks production being a highlight), I respect your opinion as its the general consciences by the general public and their music isn't for everyone, and as I've grown in age I myself realize they are a joke band but hell that can still make for a great career, and they have worked with some pretty legendary and iconic artists through out their 20+ career; Slash, Steve Jones, Three 6 Mafia, ODB, Snoop Dogg, Tech N9ne, Mac 10, Vanilla Ice, Ice Cube, The Geto Boyz, Esham, Kid Rock, 2 Live Crew, Jack White, Bone Thugs, Ice- T & Big Hutch. Twiztid > ICP though.
Yup he did guitar on their track "Halls of Illusions", he actually had a a short segment in their Shockumentary (like less than 20 seconds) documentary about working with them. Alice Cooper also did the intro track on that same album "The Great Milenko"
doomfan12345 I've seen nothing of value on that site...ever. And I think a lot of the people on there find pleasure in being annoying assholes. I know it's supposed to be funny...but I don't find their humor entertaining. Sorry.
Myke C-Town I agree. People dress it up as something that's super vulgar and evil, but in reality, it's just immature people who wouldn't say the things they type.
I tried to be a vegetarian when I was like 8 and I just learned what meat was. I did experience a lot of harassment, especially from my family, but I began eating meat again entirely of my own accord. I just like meat too much. I can try to justify it, but truth is even if I couldn't justify it, I'd still probably eat meat anyway. Much respect for being able to follow through on your lifestyle
bravetherainbow I dunno, man. I guess it's probably not that cool to say you like modern authors. But oh well. I'm a bit too old to be attempting to be cool anyway, right?
Dont Know I don't disagree with that stance at all. I'm not saying I go with what science says 100%. Otherwise, I wouldn't be against animal testing as many scientists still believe this is the most logical way to solve problems. However, I would take scientific statements and compare them with common sense. Scientific research says brains process feelings and sensations. It also says plants have no brain. Therefore it seems logical that there would be no way for a plant to process any sort of sensations. 1+1 will always be 2. No matter how someone tries to spin it.
Meat isn't necessary ,but it tastes damn good. It used to be necessary ,and in some parts of the world, it still is. Can't really eat most meats since I get bad karma with my stomach whenever I do. I could try to justify why I eat meat ,but I know that its not really practical economically or ethically to eat meat. I guess it's a vice like smoking or drinking for other people.
Myke C-Town I don't like doing things I can't justify. I feel it is dishonest to practice that which you cannot justify even to yourself. Got any advice for weening off of meat?
John Doe Do it slowly, man. Maybe try a vegetarian meal once a week for a while. Then up it to two. Then three. And so on. I'd actually suggest, for that one meal when you start, go out to a vegetarian restaurant. I say this because you don't want to start out by cooking for yourself, fuck it all up and then give up on everything, you know? Google vegetarian restaurants in your town and then maybe go try a couple. Then you can see if it works.
***** Yeah, sure. Night Shift is a great collection of short stories. I hate they fucked it up so hard with the motion picture. I also enjoyed Kujo and The Shining. But he was never my favorite author or anything.
I know this may sound very ignorant from the perspective of a vegan, but I find it difficult to reconcile my love for the taste of beef in order to feel like I'm doing the right thing. I feel like I have a conflict with my morality and my love for steak. Perhaps if ingredients for South Indian recipes were obtainable where I live I could find it easier to transition.
Yeah I had a tough transition myself I became vegetarian recently and will be becoming vegan soon. I LOVE EATING MEAT it is so good but it just wrong to me. I can't eat knowing these animals have suffered and they are live things with thoughts and feelings. I had to stop it.
Myke C-Town I used the word stigma, because I come from a family of bible thumping carnivores, and I've already been mocked for trying the Vegan diet. Btw it's been one day and it's going great. Thanks for the recommendation!
Damn myke I did not know you were a vegan I've been a vegetarian for 3 weeks so far I'm trying so hard to be vegan in slowly easing Into it stop eating eggs and drinking milk but can't stop using some foods with milk in them I'm trying though
British journalist Jon Ronson did an incredibly interesting interview with ICP a little while after that 'fuckin' magnets' song that I forget the name of came out. I'll link to it but To surmise: ICP were(are) essentially a christian rap group who tried to lull people in with nastier lyrics and ended up way in over their heads. www.theguardian.com/music/2010/oct/09/insane-clown-posse-christians-god
I agree mostly except covenant and necrotisisim it's way better than heart work. Heart work is good but imo no contest. Massacre From Beyond. Entombed Clandestine. Dismember Like an everflowing stream.Carcass Symphonies of Sickness. Yes it's grind but TERRORIZER Wold Downfall. Napalm Death Harmony Corruption. Stay Metal my fiend !awesome channel Oh shit Gorguts Considered Dead Broken Hope Swamped in Gore..Gore Gore Gore.
I’m a high school student and I've been a vegetarian (verging on vegan) for the past two years. My family’s been, for the most part, cool with it up until about 2 weeks ago. My dad’s decided that he’s all of a sudden a nutrition expert, and is spewing shit like “You’re missing out on essential amino acids and are gonna die within next 10 years” and “All of those beans that you eat are gonna make you infertile.” There’s absolutely no arguing with him, so I was wondering if you could link me to something that proves his ass wrong?
I happen to be a Juggalo but I'm not stupid I look at ICP as entertainers and don't listen to them for mind blowing lyricism as I would get with a Nas, Kool G Rap, Black Thought or Mos Def. just strictly entertainment. and I'm not down with that family shit. that's just corny to me. I was introduced to ICP back in '97 when that shit didn't exist.
Because it's the music that made me a Juggalo. I was down with them before they started that family shit. that started in 2001. and I don't trust alot of Juggalos. it always was corny to me to consider people that are complete strangers family. I'm mostly down with older ICP shit although I do enjoy the new stuff. but the old shit is where it's at.
Also there's old school Juggalos that don't rock with ''that family shit'' because that's just not them the music is what got them to be down. not everyone has to accept that shit. and alot of these new kids are retarded and don't respect anything.
Yeah the family stuff is dumb and played the fuck out, shit didn't start till the early '00 but everything up to The Shangri la albums are pretty entertaining to me, ICP should be looke at as more entertainers, but people (Juggalos included) can take them way to seriously.
Okay, what do you think the "family" part is all about then? I don't think they meant full on you let them borrow a car or just give them $ type shit. I think it's more like "y'all are nerds and y'all need to respect one another." That is how I see it. The music probably is a pioneer in horrorcore but of course it's not the best. In their words it's really just what a killer might write on paper and who they would like to take out of this world.
Hey Myke, I though what you said vegetarianism was really on point. Great video, and good taste in authors. You blew my ears out at the beginning of the video though, that woke me the hell up.
Bukowski is my favorite poet. Memorized The Laughing Heart and Dinosauria We. Have his book Post Office on my desk to read soon.

Yeah, Fantano wears shades indoors A LOT. Don't know why.
Love the channel. are you going to do a top 10 solo hip hop albums of the year. Your my fav out the crew.
God of Emptiness is a great song. I love the riffs.
The best!!!
15:20 damn you got me lol
srsly this video was super entertaining i mean it. one of your best videos no doubt.
ICP song and video "MIRACLES" is incredible......one of the best so-bad-it's-good songs ever written.
What are your thoughts on pescetarian diet or Pesco-vegetarian (I think)
I've been vegetarian for just over a year now. I think my diet is alright, I certainly get enough protein through cheese, milk, nuts, spinach... but I probably don't eat enough veg in general - just like I didn't before I went vegetarian! laziness is the biggest problem.

Thoughts on the new Opeth album?

JayM108 Have you seen the trailer for the Blood Meridian film? Looks pretty awesome.
What?! I had no idea they were making a film. It'll be interesting to see how they depict some scenes.
phew, you scared me a little bit with the list of authors at the end haha
What do you think about Allen Ginsberg and Richard Brautigan?
Arian hmn Damn, I left Ginsberg out! I'm a big fan of his! Not too familiar with Richard Brautigan. Wanna recommend something?

Marcus Bechelli Be sure to check the Post Punk Kitchen site. It's rad!
Dried beans are the secret to eating high protein, vegan food without spending much money.

YoDawgoneeleven Haha...yeah...I dunno how much I believe about it being "good."
Myke C-Town Me neither. But then again, good is relative...to a point.
Surprised Seven Churches wasnt one of the pillars. Are you a fan of Possessed?
I am, but not as much as those other bands. I don't listen to Possessed that often.
That Michael Crichton jab hurt me right in the heart

Myke, what did you think of that new Wale joint, "The Body"? I thought it was pretty fresh.
IntellectualDesp Haven't heard it. I don't really check for new Wale songs.
OHis new project is supposed to be "Old Wale." Thought it was worth a listen.
and also smth else, what was that wahlda clark book. were you serious or what?
Really got interested into the bakawsi book especially when you read the secret and I'm gonna try the death metal one you advised for beginners and although i eat meat i am interested in vegan/vegetarian dishes because they are more healthy in my opinion thanks for the great vid
whatwhatwhat? It's Bukowski. But yeah. Check his stuff out. Thanks for watching the vid!
at Dan Brown I was like "wat"
lol
if there was newer album i'd consider integral death metal it's BTBAM's alaska

Twiztid > ICP though.
stm3790 They worked with Slash? Guns n Roses Slash? Really?
Yup he did guitar on their track "Halls of Illusions", he actually had a a short segment in their Shockumentary (like less than 20 seconds) documentary about working with them. Alice Cooper also did the intro track on that same album "The Great Milenko"
great video
that gambino album is starin right at me
Yeah buddy
What's your thoughts on 4Chan? I personally find it as something that has more exposure and recognition than it deserves.
doomfan12345 I've seen nothing of value on that site...ever.
15:20 hads down GOAT troll
Your top 3 Palahniuk books?

+Myke C Town Hey Myke, can you please put your favourite authors in writing here in the description or in comments so I can look them up. Thanks.
TimmiT Thanks, man!
is it even hip at all to like authors or books from this century? I wouldn't have thought so
bravetherainbow I dunno, man. I guess it's probably not that cool to say you like modern authors. But oh well. I'm a bit too old to be attempting to be cool anyway, right?
yep. so's everyone, I reckon.
Covenant is the best death metal album of all time
spiritual healing is fucking tight , Great Video BTW

YOUR GONNA REVIEW PERFECT HAIR OR DEHH? (BUSDRIVER)
saltydayze I'll be doing it solo. We're a bit behind on reviews on the main channel.
10:10 I laughed a lot
bravetherainbow That's my job!
Myke C-Town well, you didn't do it enough in this video so I felt like I had to cover for you
So the second question came from a teenager that recently learned that animal muscle tissue comes from animals?
Dat finger intro
Meat isn't necessary ,but it tastes damn good. It used to be necessary ,and in some parts of the world, it still is. Can't really eat most meats since I get bad karma with my stomach whenever I do. I could try to justify why I eat meat ,but I know that its not really practical economically or ethically to eat meat. I guess it's a vice like smoking or drinking for other people.
John Doe Hey...you don't need to justify it. If it makes sense to you, then that's your business. My purpose here isn't to judge.
Myke C-Town Thanks for the help bro. I don't know how easy it'll be to find a vegetarian restaurant in the asscrack that is North Carolina
So do you like older Stephen King then?
I had to stop it.
samuel kidwell Have you tried beef substitutes?
Myke C-Town I honestly haven't. I think there is a stigma about eating it which made me apprehensive to try it. Would you recommend it?
samuel kidwell What kinda stigma? Yeah, I'd recommend it if you really want the flavor of beef, but do't wanna eat meat.
Myke C-Town I used the word stigma, because I come from a family of bible thumping carnivores, and I've already been mocked for trying the Vegan diet. Btw it's been one day and it's going great. Thanks for the recommendation!
Damn myke I did not know you were a vegan I've been a vegetarian for 3 weeks so far I'm trying so hard to be vegan in slowly easing Into it stop eating eggs and drinking milk but can't stop using some foods with milk in them I'm trying though
sean GETOFMYJOCK Yeah, it's tough in the beginning, man. Keep it up! It gets much easier.
***** Yeah, I dunno how much I buy it. I wonder if they're trolling.
Fuck ICP buy my CD.
awe man not all new Stephen King is bad lol

Stay Metal my fiend !awesome channel Oh shit Gorguts Considered Dead Broken Hope Swamped in Gore..Gore Gore Gore.
I’m a high school student and I've been a vegetarian (verging on vegan) for the past two years. My family’s been, for the most part, cool with it up until about 2 weeks ago. My dad’s decided that he’s all of a sudden a nutrition expert, and is spewing shit like “You’re missing out on essential amino acids and are gonna die within next 10 years” and “All of those beans that you eat are gonna make you infertile.” There’s absolutely no arguing with him, so I was wondering if you could link me to something that proves his ass wrong?
get a bitch pregnant. it's the only way.
We’re closing in on 10 years, you still alive?
You started veganism the year I was born - also the year I became a vegetarian.
DrMopinker Thanks for that polite way of calling me old. :/
Myke C-Town Make another video about your old music discs, grandpa myke!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DrMopinker Hahahaha!
Im pretty sure U don't give a shit about Roaches.
Please!!!!! Don't confuse juggalos with strange music fans lol js I hate that, icp is trash
Mike Sears What's the point of being a juggalo if you're not down with that "family shit?":
