Palestinian-American historian Rashid Khalidi analyzes Joe Biden and what influences his view on Israel. He describes Biden as “someone who's clearly been brainwashed by the Israeli politicians and the lobbyists who have focused on him for his entire life, starting with Golda Meir. He has described her impact on him. We can go on what he’s said. He was taken by Golda. And I think he has a casual contempt for the Palestinians. Many of the things he's said are insulting and dehumanizing to the Palestinians. What he said about Palestinian casualties. He's a man who decided support of Israel was an important part of his political persona early on. And there are many, many, many statements by him, “if Israel didn't exist, we’d have to create it, I’m a Zionist” and so on. He’s surrounded himself with people like Blinken, like Sullivan, like Admiral Kirby, who have a contempt for and ignorance of the Arab world and of the Palestinians.”
Rashid Khalidi (history.columbia.edu/person/k...) is the Edward Said professor of modern Arab studies at Columbia University and was an advisor to the Palestinian delegation to the Madrid and Washington Arab-Israeli peace negotiations from October 1991 until June 1993. He is the author of: The Hundred Years' War on Palestine: A History of Settler Colonialism and Resistance, 1917- 2017 (2020); Brokers of Deceit: How the U.S. has Undermined Peace in the Middle East (2013); Sowing Crisis: American Dominance and the Cold War in the Middle East (2009);The Iron Cage: The Story of the Palestinian Struggle for Statehood (2006); Resurrecting Empire: Western Footprints and America's Perilous Path in the Middle East (2004); Palestinian Identity: The Construction of Modern National Consciousness (1996); Under Siege: PLO Decision-Making During the 1982 War (1986); British Policy Towards Syria and Palestine, 1906-1914 (1980); and co-editor of Palestine and the Gulf (1982) and The Origins of Arab Nationalism (1991), and The Other Jerusalem: Rethinking the History of the Sacred City (2020).

Luckily I now know better. Had it not been for modern social media I'd have never known who were actually in the wrong.
The illegals storming the southern border should be feared. Not for the color of their skin, but because they don't share American values. Some cultures just don't mix well with Judeo/Christian/European values upon which America was built. Like oil and water.

Single Issue Referendums with thresholds and a social contract means Communities can vote their own laws.
A Public Authority can audit police and prosecute bad cops in our own courts.
Nationalise resources and give Indigenous peoples the right of Sovereignty over them as Guardians.
This can be achieved through a General Strike or Velvet Revolution, much like the Occupy movement, peacefully occupying State Buildings until a People's Mandate can be implemented.
With the appropriate checks and balances, you could have a national digital forum where qualified professionals can debate the issues in a public setting without all the disinformation and bad faith antics, hatespeech etc.
Any vote would need to pass the 70% threshold, with a veto or _rewrite_ vote needing 30%.
The issues would be debated, the public educated, and then a vote taken. Votes that fail will have to wait a year before trying again. Any new proposal (Citizen Initiated Referendum) would have to reach a threshold of support before it made it onto the register. This would be subject to a Social Contract (New Constitution) that forbids human rights abuses and discrimination.
That can be written in the same manner based on the core principles we all share. Councils and Boards could operate in the same fashion at Scale.
It works in a way that obligates people to better educate themselves ( that is to use logic and evidence in their reasoning ) for a better understanding of the issues, and then take collective responsibility for the outcomes. As opposed to the divisive US v them scapegoating and bi-partisan finger pointing the current Capitalist Pyramid Scheme runs on.
We need Government by People's Referenda, through Mascot Candidates or Peaceful Occupation of the Capitals until one is established. Make it an annual March on Oct 14.
What about our Oligarchs? What about our Deep State?
