I wish she would have stayed away from Bobby and been free to love who she REALLY loved. RIP to Whitney and Bobbi Kristina. At least they are together again. 😭🙏🙏🙏💕
Except love and happiness. All the things that make life worth living, I feel for these people so much, its very sad when you think of it. I mean you get blessed with phenomenal talent, you are famous and beloved and maybe fabulously rich and all that but the other side of that is you cease to be free, you can't just walk around a mall, you have to keep going with insane scheduling, performing, traveling and mobbed by fans who maybe don't respect boundaries, and then it becomes difficult to have random connections with everyday people, you always have to be on your guard and on top of all the pressure and possible loneliness you can't react or in any way let the mask slip and simply have a bad mood day. Then there is the impossible demand to keep looking fabulous, especially with women, you can't go outside with bed hair just to toss out the garbage or you end up on some terrible magazine pointing out how jacked up you look, exhausting!!! And its all because you got talent, anyway, rant over.
this recording and backdrop is from the movie "The Bodyguard" and its one of the most powerful movies out there in my opinion. She was such an incredibly talented singer, her range is incredible and the power, strewth me! Close your eyes, you are not alone
I was 16 years old when Whitney and the Bodyguard change the course of the music world.I remember as a teenager everyone playing this record and album completely out.Now being 43 years old,I still get teary eye as this brings so many memories back as I see flashbacks of my life...Time passes by so quickly. There will never be another Whitney.Through the decades this song was the soundtrack of my life.
she is the best, when i listened to the words and realize why my husband sang it to me what he was trying to say, very sad makes me cry all the time i heard it. he was dying!
Her singing was so effortless-she had an amazing range, such sensitivity and emotion in her voice. The voice of an angel that truly touches your soul. RIP lovely woman-You were one of a kind.
If this isn't movie song GOAT, it ties for 1st as GOAT movie Song. The song was written to heartfull explain or tell a real-life story, and Whitney elevates this song to a level that cannot be IMO surpassed for a movie song.
She made the whole world sing this song. People forget that we all have failures in our life. I still love her and missing her, and my heart aches every time I hear her voice.
When I hear Whitney Houston sing this song I cannot stop the tears because it is SO beautiful. There are truly no words to describe just how beautiful it really is. NONE. Rest in Peace with the rest of the angels.
bruh......you FEEL music more than ANY reactor i've seen. most reactors listen. you......it goes THROUGH you. it's amazing to watch. and i'm not into Whitney too much. but....YOU made me feel the song. a song i've heard too many times. rock on.
This is great version! You should check out Kevin Costner’s tribute to her at her funeral. Kevin hand picked her for the movie and picked this song! He also asked her to sing acapella (sp?) in the beginning and take that long pause before the big notes! Quincy Jones jokes that Kevin should become a record producer because it was such a great idea! Great channel big guy
Dear R&M -- Thank you for taking the time to share this wonderful information. Background always make me appreciate great performances even more. Respect!
I'm probably one of the few people who love this song who also loves the Dolly Parton original just as much. I don't think I could pick which one is my favorite, they're both awesome in different ways. Whitney's version has more dynamic range, more power, and is just more impressive in a lot of ways. But Dolly's original is so sweet and heartfelt and plaintive that it stands on its own. It's really great. This one is too close to call for me.
Whitney's version is great, but personally I prefer Dolly's - more genuine emotion considering it is not really a 'love' song, but a parting from a good friend and colleague :-) xxx
Yes it can be a hideous world, but music like this and people like you make it very beautiful. You are a deep soul, and I love watching your reactions and appreciation of the music I grew up with (not to mention it validates my great taste in music haha)
Whitney, like most the legends, like Elvis- started singing gospel. She is the best singer I ever heard. A truly blessed vocalist ( R.I.P) GOAT.. CHECKOUT AN AWESOME GOSPEL SONG THAT WENT MAINSTREAM. Rod Stewart - " people get ready""
I mean, this is the pinnacle! She’s unmatched, what a gift. And her beauty matches that voice🥰 Thanks to Kevin Costner, we have this gorgeous/iconic version of this song. They wanted a different song for the movie, but it was Kevin‘s idea to use Dolly Parton‘s country song. Then Whitney turned it into THIS!
She was the total package. Beautiful, awesome singer and great actress. Miss everything she could have accomplished had she lived. Miss her very much. RIP sweet lady.
Not sure if you've done it already, but Whitney's version of the National Anthem is the best ever. Especially because of the time period in which she sang it, during Gulf War, and at the Super Bowl.
What an amazing voice. Truly one of kind. Nobody besides Whitney herself knows what kind of struggles she was facing when she passed, and nobody deserves to die like that. Regardless she was a beautiful lady, an amazing voice, and a wonderful talent that was taken from this world way to soon. Thanks for your reaction!! You're Awesome!! 🙂
I always cry when Whitney sings this song...she had so much to give, gave her all in her music....the road she chose was a difficult one and it cost us her.....
“ So goodbye, please don't cry ” I try not to, but since you’re gone it's damn difficult not to. 😔 RIP Nippy, you now live through music and inside my heart ❤️
She was a lost soul god bless her. Sang like an angel makes me cold she was beautiful no one can sing that song like her that will always be hers forever love Sandra from South Wales stay safe
She was the voice of a generation without a doubt! Her voice was a huge tapestry of my life. I can still remember where I was when I first heard it and asked who is that woman??? I fell in love then and there in the dentist chair as a matter of fact, and I couldn’t wait to get out of there and get to the record store and find out. I have been a lifelong fan. It’s so tragic what happened to this woman. She should’ve been protected much more than being a cash cow for her family and friends
Try the original by Dolly Parton. Best version imo, she wrote it as a farewell to her co-worker/mentor Porter Wagoner when she was leaving him to pursue her solo career.
Her voice was epic as was her rendition of the National Anthem during the Super Bowl. Beautiful voice and perfect pitch. This was a very nice movie also. Costner spoke at her funeral.
Beautiful woman, voice like an angel and I don't think we will hear its like again. Kevin Costner really cared about her. He wrote her letters to encourage her to fight her drug addiction and offered her support. His eulogy at her funeral was beautiful. I hope she is now at peace, she had little enough of it here.
So many talented artists die way too early..... Even though they are famous and we love their talents, that's not to say that they don't or didn't have a gaping hole in their soul like many of us have. You spoke of trying to distance yourself from the world.... I believe that many of the artists that we have lost were just as confused and frustrated as most of us regular humans are about the human race. They couldn't understand how things were like they were either especially when there is so much beauty that us humans can absorb into our being instead of the negative and dark. No matter how much they sang about it and sang it TO us, most humans just turn their backs to the messages and walk the other way. Thanks for spreading the beauty of the world, JB!

No song, no movie, no performance can every affect us unless it is telling the truth -- and the truth is that love never dies. Heartache, betrayal, circumstances can all get in the way -- but if you loved someone once, you love them still -- even if you came to despise something they did in the end. JB, watching you makes me appreciate songs I already love even more. Thank you.
Whitney was never more beautiful than she was in this period.
Whitney was an Angel. What a voice! No one can ever compare.
The incomparable Whitney Houston...no one could touch her....at this time...R.I.P sweet lady, thank you for your gift to us....🌹🇨🇦
The clarity of her voice will never be heard again!! RIP Whitney!
This has to be the most beautiful song, sung by the most beautiful singer, that ever existed. I am in tears, as usual when I hear it.
When her mouth opened and that POWERFUL voice rolled out like liquid gold, it gave everyone chills.
Whitney had the greatest voice of all time!! 💖
YES HER VOICE IS ONE OF A KIND AND NO ONE WILL EVER HAVE A VOICE LIKE HERS!!! She IS 'THE VOICE'! 💘💘💘
Whitney was amazing. God, I wish she would have stayed away from drugs. Hopefully she rests in peace now.

There will never be another Whitney. So beautiful with a Angel's voice. Can you imagine what she would be singing now.

Did you know this was originally written and performed by Dolly Parton?
hahatoldyouso I did not know that! I love love love to hear about the originals of cover songs!, and I really like Dolly Parton‘s voice!
Eleni33 Koro the Dolly Parton version is also played during the movie The Bodyguard

Nope. Her management did it.

i think it's peerless and it's that note....that high note that just brings it all home.
