  • The performance with SU10 seems to keep getting better.
I'm sure Microsoft isn't optimizing things specifically for a user running a large number of background tasks like OBS, Zoom, LetsView, FaceTracking, all while running triple monitor scenery and two touchscreen instrument panels with Air Manager. I think this is a big ask for a PC that has enough trouble running the simulator, even without all the background tasks. That said, it seems like Asobo finally has the sim running stable with good enough performance that the sim is flyable in this configuration. I'm running high graphics with a Ryzen 5900x, RTX3080, 32Gb RAM, and an M.2 drive.
I'll keep posting videos with my setup as new updates are released by Asobo and Nvidia. I figure I'd share what i'm seeing for people who may be thinking of building a similar setup.
    [Edit:
    Discovered two new issues:
    1) My Avare navigation app screencasted via LetsView is lagging by 2-3 minutes.
    2) G3X Touch Bezels in Air Manager, created by Crunchmeister, don't work since new Air Manager update.
I'll need to figure those two things out.]

Looks like I better start saving up!!! 🤯

Crunchmeister here - what exactly isn't working with the G3X bezels? I'm sitting in the RV-14 right now and I can't find anything wrong with them. Some further explanation about what isn't working would be appreciated so I can fix it.

On a side note - if you're using the new Air Manager 4.2 beta, don't. It's packed full of bugs and breaks tons of stuff. I suspect this may be the issue you're having. Unless directly testing for SI or developing stuff using the new functionality added in 4.2, you likely shouldn't be using the beta.
As of writing this, 4.1.5 is the latest stable version what everyone should be using.

Yes, that's what I'm using. My knobster and your bezel stopped working completely. I'm confident it's air manager that's the issue.

@@mcorrive12 I can pretty much guarantee it. It breaks a LOT of stuff and even Ralph, the owner of SI, recommends NOT using it outside of the 2 scenarios I describe. Typically their betas aren't this buggy, but they're adding a lot of new stuff under the hood. IMHO, it should almost be v5 instead of 4.2.

@@mcorrive12 On a side note, I'm not sure if you're a Discord user, but if you are and you haven't already, join our Discord and you'll have direct access to us at any time. It's always good to have input from the community on what we're doing. I unfortunately can't post the link or UA-cam will flag my message as spam, but the link is available on our Github page and on the Simstrumentation thread in 1st post on the MSFS forum.

@@ottopilot6536 Thanks again. My plan was to revert back to my last working version of Air Manager and see how that goes. I'll let you know if I have any issues doing that. I have a feeling I'll be back in business by doing that.

@@mcorrive12 I can pretty much guarantee it. We've had a couple of people on our Discord report issues we couldn't track down "after the Air Manager update", which is what prompted me to ask if you were using the beta. In all cases, switching to the release version fixed them.
In case you didn't know, you can run both the Beta and stable versions at the same time. You just have to install them in different directories. But honestly, unless you're actively testing or developing, it's not worth the hassle. There's nothing in the beta that will make a difference for end users. New features are always back end features geared towards instrument devs. And you won't see said instruments until Air Manager makes it out of beta and into the public branch and devs publish said instruments.
