I've climbed that mountain to take pics of the sun setting over water (an odd thing on the East coast of oz). Got to the top and we realised we were above the cloud layer, and the sun was below it. Doh! Nice work.
Wow what a view.. You guys don't know how advanced this was for the time and I'm pretty sure it was sketchy! I can get the sense of thrill here! You're a legend in my eyes buddy!
Stunning as always Juz :) Massive kudos to you for going back for the antenna! You were so right, that footage needed to be recorded :D Massive respect to your camera man & supporter for making the effort too! You guys rock! :D Incredible views!!! BTW: your QAV kinda looks a bit like a Space 1999 Eagle (spaceship from a 70s tv show).
long story, but basically we were there during some post flood works and the area was closed to the public and was classified as a construction/work site.
I must admit, its a really amazing video. With regards to loosing the aerial, at 0:36 - I know how you feel mate. - I have a saying for it.." I'm that unlucky, I could buy a frigging SPOON - and it wouldn't work" No worries mate! - the "pain in the arse " was well paid for my the breath-taking footage.Your a legend! - keep it up.
Congratulations Juz, your videos are a work of art, you have great taste. I wonder if you use as your Gopro camera fpv or some other uses for transmission. Why do not you use your Naza in aviation fuel? Would it not be safer to have recourse RTH him. Big hug from your fan from Brazil.
Hi Vis is for safety. Very common here in Australia. If one of those guys accidently falls down the mountain, your a lot easier to spot by a rescue team in the bush if you have hi vis on.
Great flight! Besides the superb images the music is really cool. I know the original score was by Oasis and it's called Wonderwall, but I can't figure out who did this version. Can you please help?
All your video is so rock steady..smooth as silk..You use only raw footage which makes your Videos even more amazing..I must say though I like the sound from the live feed..
Hey Juz, great vid. My friend and I are planning a trip to Tasmania in Mid October with the plan of doing a heap of filming/fpving similar to your videos. In the fleet we have a ritewing Zephyr, Scarab Y6 Hex, and a dji F450 flamewheel, all fpv'd up and gopros all ready. Just wondered if you want to come....lol. My friend lives in lilydale not far from you I think. Would love to catch up sometime and exchange ideas etc...before we head off.
Great juz! This spw antennas are so breakable. I guess thats why you didnt just throw it in your backback. What a bummer moment. Good you got it anyways. Sitting just in front of your house or on your couch is way too lazy anyways :-). I just maidened my tbs disco with naza and gps today. Vid shall follow. Great platform! Greez, rcschim
I've forgotten an antenna before, but I didn't have to walk down a mountain to go and get it - just how far did you go. And what was the deal with the hi-vis jackets that seemed to be worn/discarded around ?
Enjoyable stuff. Did you ever stop to think that you might not need to drag your qaud with you all the way to the top..just fly it from wherever your car sits!
hey nice vid i am thinking of doing it the cheap way with a blade mqx and 5.8ghz but would love te see wat you see when flying wondering how the video quality is keep up the good work man
Great vantage point to fly from, got a couple of questions though. What sort of range do you think you'd get from there, and speed were clocking, looked pretty fast to me. Nice to see a brief glimpse behind the scenes
Juz, have you ever lost a quad? You know, crashed it and unable to be recovered? That would be a tear-jerking moment. $800-$1000 a piece. Especially the unrecoverable HD footage. Have you considered a GPS telemetry package and handheld GPS for insurance?
Im guessing they are to make locating yourself in a unfammiliar enviroment easier. Seems like a great idea. Might start using something similar myself.
Your videos are very cool btw. Question is...what kind of licence/certificate do you have to fly that? I mean in friends/family station is cool, however I some of your clips are in a carpark and BMX track....
I presume you went back to the car to get the antenna? I presume the high vis clothing and towel so you can see yourself on the hill, good idea... I wouldnt have thought of that!!
That TV news station in Aussie land should have used this inspiring vid imo rather than the house fly in without saying it was your house! LOL! I archived the news story on YT channel.
Have you ever lost a quad? I'd love to have the balls to fly out over trees, etc but am too scared of losing it. In this video if a prop broke I take if you would just accept the loss, or can you insure it in some way?
Great video - wonderful footage - amazing example of steady, well piloted aircraft.... ( really really SHITTY music! ) - Sadly, it "ruined" an otherwise EXCELLENT video. I would have gone for something else...almost ANYTHING .....-else. By the way, where IS that anyway?
Thanks for sharing that amazing footage, quite spectacular and nice slow flight so we can take it all in....You are da FPV man of Oz for sure..!!!!!!
Long trek back to the car for the aerial but thank for doing it. So worthwhile. Fantastic place to fly.
>Brilliant video, what a place, worth walking up the mountain twice for these scenes!
Another Great Video! I would love to live in your country.
Rick~K
Great Video, love your editing and flying is a thrill to watch.
thanks Reg. I like the sound of the motors too.

Nice work.

Very very nice Juzzzz. Must have been a bear trying to get a dingo to take ya all the way up there. Breathtaking. NICE !
Another GREAT clip mate. Just insane Justin! Really great music and coverage with other camera as well and last but not least nice editting. Great one

haha cool. just mute and play whatever ya like. As per the video description, the location is Mt Oberon, Wilsons Promontory, Victoria.
Awesome Video and behind the scenes with the QAV:D
I used to forget stuff quite a bit before I built my ground station:)
HAHA! Nice, juz! I knew you weren't gonna leave us hangin'! Beautiful place!
i just love the flights you take us on, what a great place to fly.

long story, but basically we were there during some post flood works and the area was closed to the public and was classified as a construction/work site.
Nice vid man!!
Love the smile when your comin in to land.

Great flight. Nicely flown. I love the intro ;)
I miss the early excitement of the 2011 quad era. Discovery and amazement.
Inspirational... great to capture some amazing footage of this special place. Any plans to go back & re-shoot again?
+David Martin I wish...maybe one day I will
I subscribed because you went back for the antenna :) Great flight!
Panoramicly beautiful up there
Great video, and a great place to fly!
Another great video. You must like the QAV. That thing is huge compared to my X525.
As usual I love your video... even without antenna! Bravo Juz ;)
If I ever hit the dislike button is was a accident, I enjoy these so much I watch them often. There needs to be a Super-Like button...
It's good to get to see you "at work". Great location.
Nice views. I wish I could have the support of a few people sometimes. You look so Zen like when flying FPV.

thanks for the tip. I have an "articulated diamond" antenna now which helps a lot.
Great footage; always a pleasure to watch your videos. Inspirational. BTW - I take it you had to walk back down the hill to get your antenna?
Awesome flight ... thanks for going back to get the antenna ... btw where were you flying
Great vantage point to fly from, got a couple of questions though. What sort of range do you think you'd get from there, and speed were clocking, looked pretty fast to me. Nice to see a brief glimpse behind the scenes
only problem with the CC3D is its never in stock

Yes, yes, yes!!! That was nice.
I just ordered QAV 500 can't wait to get it! Thanks for the info. Im going to use the Naza system for a while. Is the CCD much better?
Juz, have you ever lost a quad? You know, crashed it and unable to be recovered?
That would be a tear-jerking moment. $800-$1000 a piece.
Especially the unrecoverable HD footage.
Have you considered a GPS telemetry package and handheld GPS for insurance?

Im guessing they are to make locating yourself in a unfammiliar enviroment easier. Seems like a great idea. Might start using something similar myself.

I presume you went back to the car to get the antenna?
I presume the high vis clothing and towel so you can see yourself on the hill, good idea... I wouldnt have thought of that!!
Can you see Tasmania in the distance?
where do you land your plane while up tight slopes like that?
That TV news station in Aussie land should have used this inspiring vid imo rather than the house fly in without saying it was your house! LOL! I archived the news story on YT channel.

After playing minecraft all morning my first thought was you should be careful near that lava block.

Thanks Wilson. I use a separate CCD FPV camera.
Naza safer? No thanks. I would never trust a NAZA to do anything except "fly away"
juz70 hi there. Sorry to take you years back but is the CC3D more stable on qav500 rig? And can you connect an external gps to cc3d?
Is this Spektrum DX7? With different antenna?
