And Thank you so much for your videos, I am learning and enjoying!
So nice of you to say. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
I am fascinated by the upper level art market, and have been watching Christies and Sotheby’s auction replays over the last few weeks. The multi-millions paid for these pieces is only the most obvious expense! The majority of these bidders have paid consultants, for both financial and art investments, interior designers who chime in on where these pieces will “work” in their spaces, specialists who handle and “place” or secure the object, and lighting specialists…not to mention the cost of shipping, insuring and “maintaining” or preserving these incredibly valuable pieces. The entire process at this level is pretty mind blowing and I cannot get enough! On the other hand there are those who simply purchase and store art as investment which is another complex world that I find far less interesting and also a little sad as I believe art should be enjoyed thoroughly.
You could probably open 100 museums with all the art that’s in storage. It’s insane!

Thanks so much! And thanks for following along on this journey.
Really glad to see a Monet sell for more than the ridiculous rothko.
💰🥂🎉
Love those stories
So glad you like it!
That Basquiat sucks, the Rothko sucks, the Diebenkorn is okay, the Bacon is blah as usual. ( i mean they all are unremarkable if you really look at them). Yay for the Monet, its a beauty, the Picasso is not his best but will do.the large J Mitchell single canvas is awesome, she was absolutely fab.
