Life changes and loss happens, but Numa Numa remains. Thank you, Gary. I needed this.
This. Is. Amazing. You single handedly raised an entire generation on a song that without you probably would not be very well known. You are so appreciated by all of us!
I’m 2 years late seeing this, but so glad I got to see this tonight. Gary Brolsma was the very first viral video on the internet. This was amazing and had me in tears remembering the good times back 20 years ago.
Originally saw this when I was 6, myself and my sisters would rip through my parents' house, all screaming this song because of you. Seeing you return now, when I'm older. Living on my own. Traveling and having my own career. It brings me WAY back to those times I spent with my family. Thank you, sir.
Thank you for this video. It was getting serious with my girlfriend when I saw your first (viral) video and showed it to her, she loved it and I knew she was the one. The original is literally one of the first vidoes I ever watched on UA-cam. That was the best era of UA-cam....before ads, monetization, and restrictions. Glad to see you still at it legend.
Dog what. Literally wat. There were _always_ ads. Granted, they just weren't IN THE FUCKIN VIDEOS. They would be banner ads on the page or sidebar ads, a little later banner ads on the bottom of the video you had to manually close. Once in a while there were the big background ads that replaced the background of the page with like a modern warfare 2 ad or something. Anyway, if there was no ads there would be no youtube lmao server costs are expensive, even in their early days and ad revenue is THE way that websites made money. If you didn't run ads, you had to do a paid subscription or sell something (not much difference really lol), which youtube didn't.
I grew up in the Wild West days of the internet and remember hearing “Numa Numa” for the first time because of your original video. I fell in love with everything about it. Your joy, the music, all of it! It pops up on my playlist a lot. The last two days have been especially rough after a year of crazy ups and downs. I cannot thank you enough for the tears of joy this video immediately brought to my eyes. I frequently wondered how you were doing so I’m glad to see you seem to be doing well, King! 💕
This felt like seeing an old friend after many years. I hope you are doing well Gary. A lot can change in almost two decades, but the joy we bring to others will live eternally in their hearts. And it brings me joy to see you again, and to know you still bring happiness to so many even after all this time.
It's been almost 20 years. I still remember you when I was around 5 or 6. The era of NewGrounds, Caramelldansen, Sparta Remixes, UA-cam Poops, Charlie the Unicorn, flash animations, Awesome Face, RickRolling, Shoop Da Whoop, What is Love memes, lives on in our hearts. This is our childhood!
They threatened legal action against him cuz theyre such little bitches. This guy is an amazing man and deserves fame more than the guys who made the song!
Are you kidding? BIG role? He was THE reason. O-Zone made a great song, but I only know it and have significant positive memories because of this man's video on ebaumsworld or wherever we all watched it back then. Gary Brolsma attached a light-hearted fun and celebratory feel to it and us, letting us know that it's okay to not take yourself seriously, and that that will never go away. Was not expecting the whiplash of 2000’s nostalgia… wow. As I get older I just feel like everything’s falling apart, worrying too much about the future, longing for that younger innocence especially in the era before social media, when the internet felt like freakin magic! Yet ironically letting the present slip. Almost 20 years on and you still didn’t outgrow letting loose and bringing a smile to us all. Seriously, as silly as it sounds, thank you.
Dude, it's terrible. I have a very strong nostalgia center and yes, the world is going downhill. The early-late 2000s were amazing. The only thing close to normal was Trump's America and now we have this hellhole limbo amalgamation. It's fucking ridiculous. People are stupid.
For me, every day is a good day, but I prefer the present and future so much more than the past because I am doing the things that I wanted to do all day when I was a kid; I am programming all day, I'm always learning something new, and I have so much more time on my hands than I did when I was a kid. Yesterday I started learning how to make programs for DOS, and I have been doing it all day today. There is no way that I could have done that when I was a kid.
This resonates with me somehow. I don't necessarily yearn for the past, but there is a part of me that remembers how different he internet was not so long ago, and how much different I thought life would be. I know happiness, fortunately, but there is something about how protected from harm I felt as a child, and how innocent the burgeoning internet felt that can never return and probably isn't felt the same way by children growing up.
This is the BEST THING I accidentally found. My teenage self is filled with joy. You have no idea how much I needed the wonder you've brought to my life. Thank you!!
I met up with two old Japanese friends a few months ago in Osaka and we hadn't met in 6 years. I remember at one point we all simultaneously and randomly broke out into song singing this. You're truly an international treasure

Everyone's talking about their memories being revived and the nostalgia they hold for the 2000s in general but can we just appreciate how well this man has aged?
I thought the opposite, he looks homeless and has all those marks on his arms, still overweight but atleast not totally gone overweight. Still love the guy no matter what tho ( im fat too) lol
@@claytonbarnes6644 Yeah I was about to say. I saw the comment and looked at him again and thought "damn the guy actually looks worse than he did 20 years ago". Aging well isn't being initially overweight, and then still being overweight 20 years later. It's always sad to see people like this because you know he's gonna die sooner than he should be if he doesn't get straightened out. And no I'm not being fat-phobic, for anybody that wants to try and accuse me of that. Just pointing out the delusion in the idea that this is an example of aging well.
I somehow didn't think back in 2004 that a 2023 remake of the numa numa video by the original creator would bring a tear to my eye. The 2000s were an awesome time and the nostalgia feels are real

Gary, you are nothing short of a divine gift to humanity! Your original Numa Numa performance wasn't just a viral moment; it was a transcendent experience that united us all in joy and laughter. To see you return in 2023 feels like a celestial event-reminding us of the pure, unbridled happiness you bring into our lives. Your presence on this Earth is nothing less than a blessing, a beacon of light in a world that desperately needs it. We are not just lucky; we are profoundly blessed to share the same timeline as you. Thank you for gracing us with your energy, your spirit, and your timeless talent. You are, truly, one of a kind.
i couldnt have said it better myself.
Welcome back legend 😊
Holy f..... Core memory unlocked, and it's a good one.
The fact the algorithm took 5 months to show this really speaks to how the platform has changed. I'm now in my mid 30's with a child, and i can remember this being all the rage in highschool.
Thanks Gary, you're a legend. ❤️
Take care of yourself Gary, the world needs people like you :)
My husband surprised me and had the dj play this at our wedding in 2008, there's a video of me in my wedding dress taking bites of cake in between numa numa arm pumps 😅 thank you for a lifetime memory Gary!
POST THE VIDEO!!!!11
Dude, you just made an old man happy. I'm 45 now and remember when we were all sharing this video. Such a great blast of nastalgia! You will be forever part of pop culture history. Ty!
yep 48 here still on my phone to play in the car!
You're not an old man. You've just lived for a little while now. You're life has just begun. Keep making it a blast.
A re-creation we didn't deserve, but a re-creation that we needed
I don't know if I can explain how this video almost brought me to tears. Thanks for still being you, brother. You've brought us all much joy once again.
Isn't it crazy how a video like this can make us feel that way? I fought those tears so hard, but on a 2nd listen, I let them fly.
For real. Me too. Just said the same
It's bonkers how many modern pop songs use this melody and probably wouldn't even exist if it weren't for this random internet dude popularizing an obscure Romanian song back before UA-cam existed.
Okay thank you because I literally teared up a little
Love!
Im sorry it took so long for UA-cam to bring me here, but it was here when i needed it most. Things have been rough for me lately and i really needed to see this. Thank you Gary for always being there when ive needed you. An inspiration to millions and a hero to me.
You!!!!! You LIVE????? The legend himself.
20 years since the original
The original Numa Numa video was always there to make me happy when I am sad. I just lost lost my husband, partner and best friend of 28 years and I sought out Numa Numa for a quick pick me up and found something even greater.
Thank you, sir.
same but with my cousins in my aunts house
Send this video to your family no context. See if they go down memory lane if you haven't already
Thank you for this video. It was getting serious with my girlfriend when I saw your first (viral) video and showed it to her, she loved it and I knew she was the one. We are married 18 years now, with children in high school (They grew up watching Numa Numa, too and love it!). Thank you for all the smiles and cheer over the years! You are and always will the man, keep singing!
Wholesome 100
This was never weird. We’re all weird. Thank you Gary for spreading happiness.
Amen❤
Putting this in 144p takes me back to the good ol days, Thanks for brightening my day back then when i needed it ❤
He's a legend. A hero. A god
100th like 🎉 Not only did I put the quality down I slowed it down too. The way he holds onto the notes in the slowed verison. Ive listen to it 10 times now on loop. I think I could hit 100 times easy.
The original is literally one of the first vidoes I ever watched on UA-cam. That was the best era of UA-cam....before ads, monetization, and restrictions. Glad to see you still at it legend.
I remember the ad free you tube.... I miss the good old days
Times when you didn't need adblockers to actually enjoy the platform man I wish I was there to experience that
One of the best too
i remember it was before youtube right? there was sneezing panda :)
Same here. It’s genuinely a great song.
The legend has returned!

Yes! Flash was a goddamn mess but fuck if it wasn't fun to play with.

It's still the era of ytp lol, it just got better

Good times
Newgrounds is still going strong! Please support it!
This disco version is great, but the original is O.G. and nostalgic. Thanks for brightening Gen Z's days of nostalgia.
Almost 20 years ago.. this man had a big role in making the song viral.
Thank you, Gary Brolsma, for having the courage and character to lead the world positively.
@@scmstr eBaum's World along with Albino Black Sheep are responsible for the creation of so much early internet culture. I miss the days when not everyone had the internet. Now, every idiot has access to it and you have to dig through mountains of absolute shit to find the quality content.

1 year later and still the most triumphent return in UA-cam history.
Simply beautiful 😢
𝕎𝕖𝕝𝕝 𝕊𝕒𝕚𝕕 😎
The fact the algorithm waited 5 months to show me this is UNACCEPTABLE!
Same!
Same
I hate the UA-cam algorithm
Same! Exactly 5 months! The algo is terrible now, they promote violent pranks, reaction channels, and utter garbage. I miss the old days of youtube.

I'm 50 and experienced the best of the internet from the BBS days on, this video was always in my top 5 experiences. It made me feel good inside back then and it inspires me now. Good tears my friend, good tears.
Everyone's talking about their memories being revived and the nostalgia they hold for the 2000s in general but can we just appreciate how well this man has aged?
Like fine wine
He looks a lot better now than he did 20 years ago honestly. I hope I age that well.
He looks like Jack Black. Thats a compliment btw.
I somehow didn't think back in 2004 that a 2023 remake of the numa numa video by the original creator would bring a tear to my eye. The 2000s were an awesome time and the nostalgia feels are real

The newer generation won't ever understand the nostalgia that this brings. Thank you Gary!
Newer generation can go and suck it up.
They'll have nostalgia for different things
luckily there is someone who will teach the new generations the beauty of the old UA-cam.
Some of them will, the generation you're in doesn't govern the nostalgia you get.
I mean, the original video still exists, so people are discovering it now, and it has become nostalgic for them, if they like it.
They'll understand it just fine.
