    I like it that your initial guideline is lower than you used to cut it. That definitely works better for a blurry fade. Keep bringing the videos. You’re getting better and better!

    Key is I have found, always always start the initial guideline low. That way give yourself enough space to go up. It’s easy to make mistakes & before you know it, you’r at the perital ridge with your 1 guard !!!

      That’s true and good advice. Man it’s amazing what people can do and how creative they can be. I was in federal prison recently and because of COVID they took our hair clippers so we would cut hair with new razor blades hooked on the teeth of a black comb and I had some of the best fades I’ve ever had from those razors

    I can't do the cut how I want, because in mirror I am holding the beard trimmer wrong way (not straight and it is hard for me to see also the back of the head, which is covered by the clipper). Any tips for that? I tried first time, but after half hour I get mad and went bald.

    Isn't half guard closed shorter than no guard open? I thought no guard open is around 2,5mm when 0,5 guard closed is around 2mm, it depends on setting of blade and blade type itself but once set the blade, differences between the lengths are the same i think. In this video it seems like you go with longer setting (no guard open) then shorter above that (0,5 closed). it is confusing and I may be wrong, so I will appreciate if someone could refer to this

    I cut my own hair. And also other people hair. From my experience I found that u need a bigger mirror with a Handel. Has to have one so ur hand doesn't hurt in the process of u holding it. And try to avoid and countertops so u have a better eye view of ur cut

    Do you recommend getting a self-haircut mirror?

    • @AlexKouras
      @AlexKouras  3 роки тому

      I wouldn't because I never used one before and don't want to give you a bias response. I prefer using my $7 Walmart mirror. It's cheaper and for me, 100X better than a handheld mirror.

  • @somnorila9913
    @somnorila9913 Рік тому

    Tried this a few times but couldn't do it. It's too annoying and and difficult with things being opposite and having to bend the hands and neck at weird angles. So i just go zero everywhere and done. Still takes more than enough time but definitely way faster and way less stressful.

  • @___________2169
    @___________2169 3 роки тому +1

    I came up with a solution to help with not holding the hand mirror. Get a chair and a stack of books or boxes and put them on the chair. Stack the books or boxes until the stack is level to a wall mirror and put the mirror on the stack so you don't have to hold the mirror.

    Hey Alex I had a question, in the video at 10:58. Couldn’t you use the 1 guard lever open half way to fade in the 1” guide line? Lmk. I’ve been following you for awhile and love your videos bro. Aloha

    • @teoteppich
      @teoteppich 3 роки тому +2

      Its not that easy. You need the half-guard to blend the 1 open guide line. Because when you even try to blend the 1 open guide line with 1 closed, you still have a little line left. That is so because the no guard open and the 1 guard closed have too much lengh in between if you know what I mean.

    • @charlesakau9614
