I like it, but the thing that bugs me the most is how at about 0:04, the guitar riff normally does a cool thing where it crams a few notes in even fewer time (same goes for later repetitions of this part in the music). What you did here, however, is that you repeat the part what already happens at 0:02, dropping this "cool thing" and thus making this part feel a bit more linear.
Ok so I had to listen to rrthiel's again and you're right I have zero excuse for missing that LMAO The guitar patch itself I'm not really happy with how detuned it was no matter what I did, but it was either this or a soundfont patch that would've been painfully obvious that it was from a soundfont... but at least I know now
I explained this in another comment just a second ago but the guitar patch itself I'm not that happy with, the VST I used didn't let me tune it the way I wanted it to. That's aftermarket VSTs for ya I suppose I don't think I'll ever use that VST again, I used it for John Tay's Fortress and it sounded fine there but the lack of pitch bend and versatility just doesn't make it worth it anymore ngl. It sometimes breaks too which is always fun so no more of that dw
