Been riding in FiveTens for over three years, now they're just begging to let them die. Gonna try the Vices now, hopefully they won't disappoints. Thanks for the review!
Great review man. I'm coming from skate shoes which are super soft with shallow tread so it sounds like I would like the 5 10s, need something that doesn't completely taco over my pedals!
I do have a somewhat wider foot, and my Freeriders fit my wider feet much better than the Rideconcepts Livewire I tried in two sizes - that shoe was much narrower than the Freerider. Ride Concepts recommended I try the Vice, as it is their widest shoe line. I was tempted to try the Vices, but seeing that my Freeriders fit fine, and I like the thinner sole for pedal feel - and most importantly the Freeriders with the canvas toe box actually does flow a noticeable amount of air if you spread your toes apart - the Vice does not have similar material in the toe box to provide as much ventilation as the Freerider. Worst thing about the Freerider is if they get soaked, they stay soaked for two days.
Thank you Thank you! Awesome review! I recently bought the freerider, and I find them slipping on the pedals on loose trail, not really that comfortable; slight numbing on the right foot bottom pad.. does clean up really well(muddy wet trail). Waiting for the ride concepts for my wife to be shipped.
not that i know that much about flat pedal shoes but i do know that the 5-10's are hands down 1 of the grippiest shoes on the market period.. so just wanted to say it may be something else causing u to be loose on pedals... def look into it cause I've never heard anyone say had a problem slipping on pedals with 5-10 ever... and i watch thousands of reviews
thanx for doing vids man they help so much... just curious which ride concepts have the grippier soles?? live wire or the other type? not too familiar with there diff options.. appreciate any and all hlelp bro.. thanx again for doing the vids u do!!!!
IDK why people think the FiveTens are so grippy. I find them to be lacking in that department. I've had better luck and more grip with hiking shoes. These RCs look like the next ticket for me though. I'm digging that tread pattern. The thing about hikers is they really engage the pins between the lugs and lock your foot in place. The FiveTens get sloppy if you don't have 100% of your weight perfectly flat and square on the pedal. The scars I have on my shin from pedal slips all happened while wearing FiveTens. Maybe they're fine for XC kind of riding. But in the chunk, or being playful on the bike, they fall down. But I'm going to try out these RCs. That tread pattern looks like it will lock down the foot on the pedal with the pins engaging the tread well.
Hi, did you try 5 10 shoes on longer rides (100 miles or above) and do you think they would be ok for whole day xc trips? What can you tell about ventilation (do your feet get too warm in the summer :] )
You definitely could. I'd be wary of spending all day every day in either as they are designed to be worn with flat shoes and not necessarily for walking. I find the Ride Concepts slightly more comfortable for general walking.
What is your opinion on Freeriders after Addias rebranded them with Addias label on the tongue. Do you think it changed the actual feel and quality of them?
@Dr. J MTB they only licensed the names not the rubber compounds. I have the original pre addidas freeriders and the rubber is the exact same. The new freeriders have a different rubber than the OGs.
All those shoes are made for skinny girl/kid feet. If only those dudes would make a wider shoe. I hate foot prisons while I’m riding. Sticking with my Xeros for now...
Great review!!
Great product! Let's see something similar to Livewire with Max Grip rubber!

How does the RC fit compare to 510? I wear 290 mm in 510 but that varies between brands.

Any more update on these? Also how is sizing compared to your normal shoe size?
How wide are RC vs 5n10?

No rock garden test?
Which one has better ventilation? Is it freerider or vice?
Great video bro! i got the hellion they were to bulky.i send it back, i hope this ones will be more narrow.
I live 3 hours away, but drive down to hit that trail. Love High Roller.
what do you think of the vice vs the livewire ?
good question im curious which has the grippier soles
How does the RC vice compare to the 5 10 freeride PRO version?
Which one would you prefer for bmx and for school
Ride Concepts 💪🏼
Awesome review .. sold on the RC. Cheers 👍

Which is wider?
Today i ordered the yellow 5 ten !
Hold up ? After a year missing the follow up comment
Hi, excellent review. I wear 510 freerider size 9 US. Planning to get the RC livewire should I get size 9 or same 9.5 ? Thanks!
If the Freeriders are snug, id opt for the 9.5. If the 510s are normal to lose on you, I’d stick with 9.
@@DrJMTB thanks for replying
Do these run true to size?
Is either of these shoes wide then "marana etnies"?
Do you think I could wear these to school/Casual and mountain bike in these too thanks

@@DrJMTB ok I might look into the 5 10 sleuth shoe then
@@colemiller9938 definitely a better all-day wear options, and still a great flat pedal shoe.
@@DrJMTB thanks for the help
Good review!
Thanks!
How about sizing? True to size? If you wear vans what size would you wear for comparison? Thanks
True to size for me. I don't wear vans. They seem to fit about 1/2 size smaller than Five Ten Freeriders if that helps.
Dude my five tens are destroyed. On some areas there are no circles visible anymore
got ya... how old are they though?
@@weathdoneI think they endured 20t km over the course of two years
@@peterYOUpanne no wonder. Ha. They served their purpose well.
I wonder if the Ride Concepts would feel as comfortable (or last as long) without socks?!?!
We may as well add "indentions" to the dictionary, it gets used so often to mean "indentations".
What enlightenment! This changes everything!

Adidas and No

Imagine not knowing that the crew behind ride concepts is the OG five ten crew.
They must have left their rubber chemist at Five Ten because they still don’t have it completely dialed in comparison.

No. Freeriders are actually super wide. Ride Concepts are relatively narrow... or maybe I just have "girl feet".
