There is a park at Desapark city where people will walk with their dogs there and even to the mall nearby. This area is where most of the expats stay. Maybe you can pay a visit. Just 30mijs from KL city centre
Petaling Jaya is one of the oldest satellite city just located next to Kuala Lumpur city. It's more tuned down, quiet and affordable compared to KL, but just as modern and well connected. It's located in the state of Selangor, which is currently one of the richest states in the country.😊
@benfishermin I am not sure but a Chinese expat lives there(vlogger). She used to work in UK, then Singapore in banking. Sometimes Japanese from mount kiara will go there too. But I am unsure whether it is expensive or not to an American.
Local dog lovers are mindful of our moslem community but having dogs as pet is as common too. I live in KL city center and I have a dog. He is walked around my neighbourhood and we frequent dog friendly cafes. Of course you can find more pet owners living in suburbs where there are lots more landed houses. Most suburbs known as Taman will have their own community parks like the one you went. Locals have their own pet network eg dog FB group , cat, fish etc. Naturally it is harder to keep pet dogs if one lives in apartment condos. The rules are stricter. Stay longer make friends with the locals and your perpective will definitely widen up and you will find more to explore. Malaysia has lots of surprises to make it a lovely country to stay long term. And its more than just KL or Penang though I personally love all the smaller towns. All the best to you Ben.
i am a muslim and have several dogs myself, but since we live in the highland and rural part of malaysia, absolutely bliss for dogs to run free range. but it is hard for you folks to visit this part of the country, malaysia is full of “hidden gem” or what we 80’s child call it “dragonballs” 😂
Outskirt of public park in KL, no walk the dog. In Damansara Jaya there was a park and people walk the dog. Even in 1990s I remember being licked by a bulldog while sitting on bench after playing sport
@@benfishermin by the way this place is just couple kilometers from the place I grew up in early 1980s, it is called Damansara Utama. My primary school just few steps behind. Thanks for the visit my dear brother
Haha yes it’s VERY easy to get lost, I was having real problems finding that rainforest and skatepark. By the end of all this I was completely exhausted
The RiverCity KL is a pet friendly (dogs and cats) mall. It's a small mall, with pet friendly cafes. Desa Park City is bigger and more dog friendly HOWEVER many dog owners do not pick up after their dogs which is disgusting. Its the most basic thing
There’s a rooftop rain forest as well and rock climbing area on 5th floor. You need to wear trainers in oneutama for the amount of walking 😂. If I am not mistaken they have an app for the map, it will direct you to any shop.
Ben you should have a pet then got a chance making friends.. you know what I mean 😀 If you have some local friends it would be easy to understand and enjoy Malaysian life..easy to find some job opportunities or just hang out with locals or even foreigner friends and so on.. Enjoy your digging in hidden gems in PJ and SJ -(Subang Jaya) then Shah Alam..And back to Ampang and Keramat and so on. To know Malaysia is to love Malaysia 🇲🇾 👍
Well there’s no way I could have a pet at the moment with my lifestyle, since I don’t have a home, but in a few years I will probably have a dog. I have quite a few friends in KL 😀
It is illegal to sell raw milk as a food in Australia. In NSW, all milk sold (except goats milk) must be pasteurised. Milk is pasteurised to kill any harmful bacteria.
Wow interesting, in the US it’s legal. I believe it’s legal across SEA but I’ll have to seek out an actual farm or service that sources it fresh daily.
It’s true. Now I’ve been in Sabah for 1 week and it’s much different as well, I meet many locals every day and have conversations. In KL I barely end up talking to many people on a daily basis.

Completely missed it somehow 😅
welcome to Sarawak in Borneo Ben.
So far I stayed a week in Sabah, great experience, will be visiting Sarawak too on this trip soon 😀
Petaling Jaya is one of the oldest satellite city just located next to Kuala Lumpur city. It's more tuned down, quiet and affordable compared to KL, but just as modern and well connected. It's located in the state of Selangor, which is currently one of the richest states in the country.😊
I have to explore more of PJ for sure!
You can go to Desa Parkcity, especially over the weekend, you may see a lot of dogs
Gonna check it out soon ✌️
Check out Genting Highlands, Redang Terengganu
I will for sure! Thanks
you can go to nearby which call Desa park city park
Gonna go see this place too 🙏
PJ is the city with highest pay jobs in Malaysia. so you're gonna find lots of high class businesses like food etc
Ahh okay thanks!
Desa park is new. Of course it looks better
Then I bet it’s more expensive too right?
@benfishermin I am not sure but a Chinese expat lives there(vlogger). She used to work in UK, then Singapore in banking. Sometimes Japanese from mount kiara will go there too. But I am unsure whether it is expensive or not to an American.
Bandar Utama has one of the most expat in Malaysia
Great area for me
PJ OLDTOWN is a parallel universe stuck in da 90s people wearing fanny pack like mcfly back to da future
Lucky for those people that 90s and 2000s fashion is back in style now 😂
Local dog lovers are mindful of our moslem community but having dogs as pet is as common too.
Well-said😊
i am a muslim and have several dogs myself, but since we live in the highland and rural part of malaysia, absolutely bliss for dogs to run free range. but it is hard for you folks to visit this part of the country, malaysia is full of “hidden gem” or what we 80’s child call it “dragonballs” 😂
Outskirt of public park in KL, no walk the dog.
In Damansara Jaya there was a park and people walk the dog. Even in 1990s I remember being licked by a bulldog while sitting on bench after playing sport
For me it brings back memories of home since there are so many dogs around in America
@@benfishermin by the way this place is just couple kilometers from the place I grew up in early 1980s, it is called Damansara Utama. My primary school just few steps behind. Thanks for the visit my dear brother
Other malls have a new wing. 1Utama has a new wing and a new new wing 😂😂
You should go to I-City next
Thanks i need to check it out
Make sure you're back on Aug 31st for Merdeka Day.
I think there is also a mini water surfing area in 1 Utama
Ah cool I missed this
This mall is too damn big. Ive been there several times and manage to get lost every time 😅
Haha yes it’s VERY easy to get lost, I was having real problems finding that rainforest and skatepark.
There's a secret garden at the rooftop of 1 Utama mall
Ahh I gotta find this next time
@@benfishermin ua-cam.com/video/_3yUdkc_Dxo/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
So Petaling Jaya and Jesa Park have dogs. Check. Good to know!
Yea for me it’s nice to see 😀
Bro go drink tea morning at gurdwara sahib petaling Jaya near eye specialists hospital in pj it's Sikh temple
Thanks I gotta pay a visit to this area
I live in Malaysia for 54 years but never enter 1 utama yet
I highly recommend checking it out, I enjoyed it
There’s a rooftop rain forest as well and rock climbing area on 5th floor. You need to wear trainers in oneutama for the amount of walking 😂. If I am not mistaken they have an app for the map, it will direct you to any shop.
Wow it seems like they literally have everything in this mall lol
Ben you should have a pet then got a chance making friends.. you know what I mean 😀
If you have some local friends it would be easy to understand and enjoy Malaysian life..easy to find some job opportunities or just hang out with locals or even foreigner friends and so on..
Now you are really surrounded by locals. Not like in KL, full of foreign workers.
It’s true. Now I’ve been in Sabah for 1 week and it’s much different as well, I meet many locals every day and have conversations. In KL I barely end up talking to many people on a daily basis.
Yakiniku kuro is Great!
Nice I gotta try this next time
Ben I declare you Malaysian ..
Ha thank you 😁
Thanks for showing the place. Can’t stop eyeing at the women lol
Forest in One Utama
🌳🌳🌳
1Utama is my no 1 favorite. It is in Damansara, more specifically.
Yea one of my new favorites too! It’s easy to spend the whole day there 😀
Go to Sunway piramin in PJ
I need to visit this place soon thanks
I bet you wouldn't wanna come back to kl once you landed in borneo
Haha I still love KL. I was in in Sabah for a week and now in Sarawak. It’s a great experience so far, videos will come soon
Does anyone know are any malls pet friendly in PJ and KL???
Good question!
@@benfisherminMegah Rise Mall , Jaya One Mall .. both in PJ
Have you been to Desa Park City ?
Not yet but I will check it out soon and make a video
This time is PJ
Dogs are considered unclean for Muslims. They can have hunting or guard dogs but not pets like the Westerners have.
Yea it’s definitely the complete opposite as America, where people treat dogs better than actual people 😂
@@benfishermin yeah you were in NY but San Francisco is like the world has ended. The dogs are so lucky compared to how the humans live. Apocalypse is here.
Desa park is nice but it stinks like a public toilet for dogs😅
Haha 😂😂
Desa park city
Will go soon 😀
Go eat Marco rest steak ground floor reasonably good ground floor that’s what I do in One u
Good tip I’m gonna try this next time
