    Wow, this place looks amazing! I really want to go, but only have a truck, no Jeep or side-by-side. I was just at Alamo Lake, but on the park (south) side. I think I may put this on my list for the winter, probably getting too hot to do it any time soon. Thanks for sharing this wonderful and lesser known place. My god, those photos at the end are spectacular!

    I just discovered your channel and I’m loving it. I work in the hard rock mining industry and I’m in school studying to become a geologist. Your passion for mining and geology is contagious. Keep up the good work!

    I have been down a lot of slots, but that was the first time I have ever seen modeling in one. The looks were dramatic. Well done to the drone work and the stills. Oh yeah, yours were pretty good too! Be safe and stay healthy 😷⚒

    Love the slots, and I don't mean Vegas. I almost learned the hard way not to travel through the big blots without knowing the weather WAY up stream and traveling alone. I was the last solo hiker to do Lower Antelope Canyon without a guide. In August 1997 I got run off a long solo backpack in the San Juan Mts in southwest Colorado due to an extensive forest fire. So I picked up a book on Hike on the Colorado Plateau in Durango and did a car camp/day hike trip all over the Plateau. I took in Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, three days of down one canyon and back up the next on at Cedar Mesa, Valley of the Gods, two days at Navajo National Monument including overnight camping at the base of both Keet Seel and Betatakin ruins. I next headed to Antelope Canyon. My first mistake was not reading the entry in the book... I just saw the photos and thought "I have to see this". I got there on August 11 and did a very long hike down and back up the slot. Afterwords, I headed to Page to do laundry, eat real food and rest for a couple of days in a motel bed. In watching the local evening news the next day, there was the report of 11 deaths after a flash flood wiped through Antelope. Live and learn.

    Hi, just discovered this video...it's great! Can you tell me how we get to the slots in this area? You mentioned an easier way to go there and if you can give us the coordinates or directions, that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Keep up the amazing work!

    Elley: do you happen to know the GPS coordinates of where you are parked at 4:48 in that vid (at the entrance to the tributary slot canyon that you walked)?

    Hey Dan, it’s easier to just carry the drone. It films just fine by hand.

    Could you have climbed out of there in an emergency? Love the fashion in the rough!

    • @ElleyKnowsRocks
      @ElleyKnowsRocks  3 роки тому

      Yes I could have climbed out of there in an emergency. That’s kind of why I was playing around in the very beginning with my head upside down. I wanted to see if I could stretch between the walls. I’m glad you like the fashion thank you for watching

    Should have packed in a pan and shovel. The Artillery Mountains have historically produced silver, GOLD and copper.

    What would be good books and websites for a 9 year old that wants to take on geology ❤️ he loves loves watching your videos!

    • @ElleyKnowsRocks
      @ElleyKnowsRocks  3 роки тому +1

      Well 9 is a tough age. You could get a national audubon geology filed guide and that would keep them entertained with pictures of minerals and good charts. There are not a lot of books tailored to young children just because geology is a tough subject. But your could start there :)
