I have jumped off of cliffs on skis in Colorado (Vail.) Yes, I have the video. I also have a friend who is now bedridden for life after a motorcycle crash. I also got a mTBI. I am not saying not to have fun, but be aware of the risks and limit them, or don't. When people throw all caution to the wind and make numerous dumb decisions, it catches up to them. It is as simple as that. I disagree that life is short. When you are in daily, chronic pain, it can feel quite long. Laugh at me now, but one day, you will likely learn this lesson.
Beautiful trail and footage of the hike. Friendly tip to travelers: To preserve the pristine waters and environment do not abandon trash or contaminate the environment through the wear of commercial goods like bug spray and sunscreen. If needed, use organic bug repellant recipes (like citronella oil based repellant) and wear sun protective clothing (hats, sunglasses, gloves, thin long sleeve shirts) over sunscreen. I agree! Let's preserve lands for the indigenous people! Next time you visit my homeland--England--please do not buy anything from anyone who does not have super white skin and an anglophone name. We Anglo-Saxons have as much claim to our ancestral homelands as the Hopi have to theirs. Let's return all lands to the native, indigenous people. Beautiful idea!

This trail definitely will be on my bucket list. So incredibly beautiful, almost unreal! The color of the water is insanely blue. Thank you for sharing. Another great video…great job!
We just got back and I want to thank you for this video. It was super helpful for planning and setting expectations. For sure the most intense, treacherous and unforgiving hike I have ever done but absolutely rewarding. We decided to camp up a bit higher and day hike down to the LCR. It saved us some hiking the day we hiked out. I also found it to be buggy down near the water (mosquitos and some biting flies..we were there in October). Also the researchers seemed to have the high ground/shaded camping areas so only beach camping seemed to be available. We filtered water from the stream that was to the right of the helipad (facing the water) and it was less brackish than the LCR water…still wouldn’t want to drink a lot of it as it definitely has some salt in it but it did the job for cooking and getting us out. Keep on adventuring!!
I just wanted to write that for your efforts you deserve at least 100K and UA-cam did add... Well done on the way, I just came back from the area and your video, really a big surprise😀

saw the thumbnail and instantly had memories of many small rivers feeding the colorado. it's been over 25yrs since i was there, so glad you had it all to yourselves
Truly amazing place! Your video helped us prepare so much. Unfortunately, about .25 mile from the river, my husband suffered a fall due to loose rocks + dirt from recent rains and dislocated his shoulder and cut his thigh pretty bad. He’s a beast and managed to finish the hike and we got to the beautiful blue river. Thankfully we followed your advice and had the Garmin. Got heli’d out and also called for another person who got injured. Navajo Ranger said it was because it was a full moon… he gave me a jr badge so I’m proud ;) haha
Awesome spot! I did the raft trip 25yrs ago and hiked up from the bottom to another incredible spot on the little Colorado that was deep and you could dive off the surrounding rocks into the pools! Not to many people will ever experience this place

Reminds me of going to Supai Falls, has similar pools and waterfalls. But its a much easier hike on a well maintained trail or taking horses is another option. Also lots more visitors to Supai.
I was lucky enough to be able to backpack to Havasu Falls back in 2018. Although it was beautiful, it was WAY too crowded. This hike to Little Colorado is too much for me (57 and 4 spine surgeries), however, I am doing a motorized rafting trip down the GC next year, so I will get to play in these falls. I hope they are this blue while I am down there.

What an incredible hike!!! I'm now adding it to my list of backpacking trips to do :) Did you do the hike in August? Is that when the water is that icy blue? Thanks for such an amazing video!
Thank you Emma! Our brown failed attempt was early April, and our hike when we got the blue water was mid May. When you get your permit, make sure to ask the rangers for current conditions, they should be able to let you know. I imagine our first failed attempt was from snow runoff making water levels really high
As someone.that has never hiked, this video had me in awe the entire time. I didn't want it to end. Here I am 51 years old and I am starting to get this hiking/exploring bug. What camera did you use to shoot this video? It was beautifully shot and put together! I just liked and subscribed to your channel!
Hey Kevin, thank you for this! It's really beautiful and really well done! Just a couple questions for you.. did you just go recently? Because I wanted to know what months the water would be the bluest. (I've read that fall is really good too also)... obviously the hike up seems to be the worst part, but I've read things saying just how sketchy the terrain is, but from your footage, I didn't see anything that seemed incredibly sketchy - just your basic kind of scrambling...(though I know the pack makes it that much harder.) I did Grand Canyon, rim to rim, a couple years back, and it's obviously the ascent that's the hardest part, so I just wanted your honest thoughts about the hardest element of the whole thing. Thank you so much for your time!
We just got back. The hike down was worse. Lots of loose rock so with a 50 lb pack you need to be super careful. The hike up took as the same amount of time down. We camped in a wash about 2.7 miles down so we day packed to the LCR. Hiking back up to our campsite during the heat of the day was horrible so I also recommend beating the direct sun (we hiked in at first light and started hiking out by headlamp). Hope that helps
Hiked this in June 2018, and holy crap we had the whole spot to ourselves, but it was HOT. Definitely didn't know how gnarly the trail was. We also ran out of water and struggled but it was well worth it.
Sorry if dumb question but why was the water so blue and how/why does it change from brown to blue? does it matter what time of year to go? also maybe I missed it but was the water warm or cold? thanks for sharing!
It really is! Such an incredible place. The rim hike we did last year was the bright angel trail, not sure if that’s the one you’re doing. But if so, this is an entirely different place outside of the national park
Ah I'm sorry to hear that, such a bummer. Maybe it was only the rain before, for us it was spring run-off but same thing just high water levels. The 2nd time we attempted it we made sure to ask the rangers about recent reports and this is how we ensured the water would be blue on that attempt
10:13 were you allowed toward the confluence? I’m trying to plan a trip but want the most out of the experience! I want to actually speak with some of the natives and learn some of their ways! I know it’s probably not likely but just put my feet in the waters where they meet and feel that energy..
I believe you are! We did not do it because our main goal was just to camp down at the LCR, but maybe next time! The confluence would be so cool, but I imagine the trail is overgrown, maybe river crossings, and tough route finding
Thanks for the beautiful video! Is it possible to hike from the lower little Colorado river (when you are coming from the Hopi Salt Trail) to the Havasupi falls (i know you need a permit) but is it a way to go from there? If the is no trail you think it’s possible the hike in the river from the hopi salt trail to the Havasupi falls or the water is to deep to be able to hike ?
No, but maybe you can get the 10 miles to the confluence with the Colorado River. This is very far from Havasupai creek and impossible by hiking. cheers
Thanks! Bri likes hiking poles and I think she packed hers but tbh I don’t really like using them too much! Unless there’s a day over 15 miles or over 5k feet of gain
Amazing guys!! So stoked for you. What a redemption!! Also, I appreciate all of the "how-to" tips, and including the phone number. Awesome job, fantastic video!

Ah I'm sorry to hear that, such a bummer. Maybe it was only the rain before, for us it was spring run-off but same thing just high water levels. The 2nd time we attempted it we made sure to ask the rangers about recent reports and this is how we ensured the water would be blue on that attempt
How many hours did it take you to get to the water? Is is possible to hike down and back up between sunrise and sunset?
cool place! was the water itchy on your skin? I guess all the minerals from the blue water can cause itches
Great video and unique scenery!
Amazing place! Thanks!
Super helpful. thank you.
glad to hear it, thanks!
What is the water temp? Looks beautiful, it reminds me of the Japanese hot springs...
I don’t know exactly but it was so nice and refreshing
Thanks for the beautiful video! Is it possible to hike from the lower little Colorado river (when you are coming from the Hopi Salt Trail) to the Havasupi falls (i know you need a permit) but is it a way to go from there?
If the is no trail you think it’s possible the hike in the river from the hopi salt trail to the Havasupi falls or the water is to deep to be able to hike ?
No, but maybe you can get the 10 miles to the confluence with the Colorado River. This is very far from Havasupai creek and impossible by hiking. cheers
so beautiful ! Thanks ! Why not used hiking sticks ? Looks scary!!
Thanks so much for this great introduction. Was wondering what temp the water is?
What time of year did you go when the water was brown?
April 7th! However, this may change year to year based on rain, snow, etc.
Keep in mind this is/was an ancient trail used for holy pilgrimages by many local tribes that date back to before America. The utmost reverence needs to be practiced in such places.
Buenos videos mi compa minimo mi 👍y este come chin***s sus videos y mas los de ford y clasicas al 100
very good
I appreciate the support!
how long did it take to hike one way? I don’t want to camp overnight so is it doable in one day?
Great video guys beautiful! Don't mind the miserable complaining types who think everything is only there for themselves. Thanks for sharing and keep on sharing so other can enjoy places like this too! ✌
What month did you go? Wanna find that blue water.. was it cold water?
The water was really nice and refreshing when we went, we did it in mid May
Beautiful
Thanks!
