And you have to wonder what were they going to do with an opened/used palette. Just throw it out - why then not let the customer keep it? It was their mistake. That did not make sense at all.
I’ve had multiple broken palettes. PMG sent me new ones when I sent them pictures and told me not to send back the broken. Bobbi Brown didn’t even require pictures and told me to keep the broken one. Selfridges said they were sold out so I could return for a refund or take a reduced price based on one shade being broken. Sephora and Ulta made me send the palettes back.
I was really hoping for something else at number 1. I was like.. maybe it wont be that light neutrals ND palette at no. 1. Maybe. I was fully expecting that palette in that spot though.
If I had to only buy from one eyeshadow brand Natasha Denona is that brand. I just feel like she listens to her customers, improves her formula, and offers something for everyone. What more could you ask for?
True! I kinda miss that with PMG? Most people wish for something else already, and yet she is still on the pink train. And while I understand Charlotte's reasoning for her love for Mothership XI, I was immediately disappointed when the first swatches were released.

Following you, I’ve found my favorite eyeshadows, even though we have different coloring! I’m very pale and very cool, but I love very basic neutral palettes with beautiful shimmers. That YSL quad was one of my favorites of the year. Just perfection.

Palettes I've loved this year, ND Yucca, and i need a nude. i absolutely love these palettes. I tried a lot of indie brands this year. Cosmic brushes blow me away. I've now got 4 of their palettes. Blend bunny sugar and grudge i love. Nomad Ghost town USA palette is great. Oden's eye Jewels and gem palette is so good. Unearthly cosmetics Sorcerous smoke palette is so beautiful and Devour is amazing. I bought alot of palettes because eyeshadow is my favourite part of makeup 😊
Might I suggest the Cle De Peau quads for beautiful, luxury eyeshadows? Great for all ages, especially mature skin, understated elegance and crazy longevity. They top my 2023 list.

I just realised that the PML mothership is the only eyeshadow palette I bought this year. I feel like it must be incorrect, but I really think it was the only one, so I guess it's my top pick! 🤣 I have gotten good use out of it, I really like it, especially the 6 pans you highlighted. I use those the most.
My top is Xenon, second place would have to be Nomad Cosmetics Ghost Town USA. I love the What’s Up Beauty dragon eye palette, too. Would love to see you review more indie brands!

Hi Charlotte, I enjoyed your ranking. I particularly liked the Dior Backstage Silver Essentials and the Lancome Louvre Richelieu Palette. I too bought the Lancome Louvre palatte after watching your review. I was surprised that it wasn't ranked along with the other palettes that you tried in 2023. Also I really like the Natasha Denona Yucca palette. I haven't played with it much but I'm looking forward to diving deep into it in the spring. There were a lot of good releases this year.
This #1 foundation is the most beautiful one on your skin. Better than the usual ones you wear. Your skin looks soooooo smooth and the warm tone is perfection!

My ranking from loved to most loved-YSL-definitely gorgeous but understated, Nars Laguna-natural glam, PM bronze quad-one word amazing-especially if you pair it together with the more “boring” Nars Laguna then you really do have the best bronze pallet!! But like u the number one goes spot goes to Madame Denona-Joint 1st place to my two absolutely loves of the year are the starlet and the I need a nude eye shadow palettes.Honestly love these two equally and use together all the time❤️Everything you need to look completely goddess like xx thank you for the best review Charlotte 😘😘💞

I had similar feelings about The Golden One! The formulas were great but there was something about how it all came together that I didn't love. Happy to have C3PO on a palette though!

Xenon surprised me the most , ND nude and Danessa Myricks lightworks are equal ones for myself and stunning companion palettes . You have tempted me with xenon it to would be a fantastic companion palette to the DM lightworks. I have also been looking at the DM groundworks palette that you can use anywhere on your face , contour , eyebrows lip liner etc . With all of those I think thats a collection complete well in theory 😂😂😂😂😂
Today I used the Huda Grunge, but pulled in some extra sparkle from Xenon. The Xenon is my #1. It is stunning. Many shades look the same from afar, but they are not. Each has it's own character. From PML I got the Love Iconic Infatuation, the pink one. It's my first from Pat, and was super through spring & summer. Then I added Bijoux Lunar Nightshade, the one with the teal shades. Finally, I got Morphe 'Tease the Season and it happens to be excellent. Waiting for Fire Rose to come to America; thinking about YSL and a $$ Chanel highlighter. Happy Christmas 🎁❤
I ~really~ need to get the Natasha Denona Xenon palette. As you say, it's really just up my street, being a cool sort of winter coloration girly with dark-ish blue eyes. I mean, the one time I really did a smokey eye look with smudged out black and silver colors (several years ago), it caught the eye of the one man who loved me for me. However. I really do need to get the Lisa Eldridge Sorcery, Vega, and Myth palettes, because they are the kind of color stories that really go well with my coloration. The Rabanne quad: Easy to clean, just buff on a boob! 😂😂 2023 was my year to finally start buying Natasha Denona. I was very heartbroken by the direction I saw Pat going. I didn’t buy Mothership 11, though I have the first ten. Instead, I got Glam, Yucca, Biba, and INAN. I love them all, for different reasons.
I agree with what you want from PM mothership with neutral leaning cool basic b. I think her divine rose to infinity are basic but can we please get away from pink and red and I guess that’s why the first mothership is my fave. I love my Prada eyeshadow and it would be in my top 4 of the year but I have a different color story and it has the best taupe/silver shade. Xenon is for sure a very beautiful palette. But if u don’t like a blue and grey look it’s pointless. I tried every shade and even with a light hand it doesn’t matter, it pulls blue.
I spent about 6 months getting on email lists, checking listings and scoping out American and european websites to get YSL Stora dolls, and in the end i did a drunk christmas Google and it was suddenly in stock! I've got it now and it's absolutely perfect for what I wanted which was a small, work friendly, prettily shimmery and pigmented palette. Is it worth the price? hmmm... not sure, but it's lovely anyway. I need a nude has also become my everyday staple, it's just so versatile and hard to make mistakes. Neither of these give drama, but they give you reliability and prettiness, and that's what i want for work and getting out of the house quickly, as well as the base for more exciting looks (taupe or nude crease goes great with coloured shimmer)
From all the eyeshadow palettes you mentioned I just bought one : the ysl stora dolls quad. Glad to see it is on the 3th place. ( the palettes that are still on my mind, are pretty grunge, the 9 pan from charlotte tilbury, and ND I need a nude palette) But if I am onest to myself I don't need those. I love a good small palette for every day. And I have palettes that I love that I have not jused enough this year, I think of LE Vega palette. I love my VB signature and tuxedo palettes to wear every day to work. If I want sparkle I have some sparkling singles from CT or oden's eye. And I have some cream eyeshadows from LE, RMS and VBB. I had some splurge at Black Friday Sale. I think I can shop my little collection for some time. But I love to watch makeup video's like this. I was dead set on getting that YSL palette. And then I swatched in store (two different t times!) and was so disappointed. I did get the I Need A Nude palette though so still a win!! 😊

Has anyone else or Charlotte too - have you noticed any midi Natasha denona palettes with shadows starting to crumble for no reason? I have the retro midi and its only 9 months old and some shadows are braking up into little balls and crumbling, it's so disappointing... I can still use them but it's not nice as the fallout is insane now as I try to put loose shadow on... is this a known thing with natasha denona?
I once bought the YSL couture eyeshadow in the colour Babylon Rose and it was awful, it just disappeared on my lids. So it was the worst this year. But everyone else is blown away by it. I am so irritated. Maybe it was just the colour? Anyone else here?
I love that huda palette. I use the glossy black shade as a liner with an angle brush. Easiest, blackest liner for me and it doesn't smudge. Natasha Denona I need a nude, Huda grunge and Danessa Myricks Groundwork palettes are all neck and neck fighting for number one. "I need a nude" and groundwork palettes are the best combo together. Huda grunge is a more popping version of "I need a nude" on my skin tone... So I can't decide. I also love the Dior Nightwalk. Least favourite was actually the Yucca palette. On my medium tan/,olive skin tone the mattes look so sad and just blend into my skin like nothing unless I choose to go green... but I rarely wear greens. BTW I did a wear test between "I need and nude" and Huda's Grunge palette (making similar looks) and Huda won. It didn't fade as easily.
Dior making you return an eyeshadow palette that was their mistake to have delivered to you, and that will probably go to the bin when it reaches their wharehouse 🤔. Not great, is it?
This year, for the first time, I had to deal with ND customer service. Just awful. I’ve been on a 7 year hiatus from UD and have yet to break it, they make it so easy to do anyway, and I can’t say how long this one will last, but if it’s in direct proportion to the level of service I received then I’d venture to say, at the very least, 5 years and a whole hulluva lot longer from her site. I couldn’t believe how horrible they were at fixing THEIR mistake, instead acting like they did nothing wrong. I must’ve taken a flight to the distribution center to fulfill my own order and did it incorrectly OR they just figured I’d give in, which turned out to be a safe bet.
My number one palette of 2023 is the Natasha Denona My Dream palette. I don’t think it came out in 2023, but this broke b*tch couldn’t afford it till 2023 😂 I saved up my Ulta points until the sale came, and used my points on top of 20% off, so I got the palette for 30 bucks! 😊 I had been eyeing this palette since it came out. I didn’t like the McGrath 6 pan brown palette from the Love collection. I found it at TJMaxx, and actually returned it. It was nothing special, and I think my cheap GlamLite palettes are better quality than McGrath. I don’t know why people spend such a high amount on high-end palettes, when indie palettes are such better quality, and most of the time, a much cheaper price.

Xenon is for sure a very beautiful palette. But if u don’t like a blue and grey look it’s pointless. I tried every shade and even with a light hand it doesn’t matter, it pulls blue.
I spent about 6 months getting on email lists, checking listings and scoping out American and european websites to get YSL Stora dolls, and in the end i did a drunk christmas Google and it was suddenly in stock! I've got it now and it's absolutely perfect for what I wanted which was a small, work friendly, prettily shimmery and pigmented palette. Is it worth the price? hmmm... not sure, but it's lovely anyway. I need a nude has also become my everyday staple, it's just so versatile and hard to make mistakes. Neither of these give drama, but they give you reliability and prettiness, and that's what i want for work and getting out of the house quickly, as well as the base for more exciting looks (taupe or nude crease goes great with coloured shimmer)
This was my top palette as well!! The Patrick Ta Major Dimensions was a close second. I think I need to try out that YSL quad!!
From all the eyeshadow palettes you mentioned I just bought one : the ysl stora dolls quad. Glad to see it is on the 3th place. ( the palettes that are still on my mind, are pretty grunge, the 9 pan from charlotte tilbury, and ND I need a nude palette) But if I am onest to myself I don't need those. I love a good small palette for every day. And I have palettes that I love that I have not jused enough this year, I think of LE Vega palette. I love my VB signature and tuxedo palettes to wear every day to work. If I want sparkle I have some sparkling singles from CT or oden's eye. And I have some cream eyeshadows from LE, RMS and VBB. I had some splurge at Black Friday Sale. I think I can shop my little collection for some time. But I love to watch makeup video's like this. The last 2 years I watched every video from you thats gone live. Keep up the good work! Love your channel! ( I found it because I was looking for some good LisaEldridge reviews)

I only bought one palette this year but oh how I love it: ND’s I need a Nude ❤ Was very restrained and waited for Cult Beauty’s Black Friday Sale as I am on a very low buy this year. But it was so worth the wait - totally agree with your assessment of it Charlotte!

Loved your video, Charlotte. You have all of my favorites in it. I don’t know if I could rank them. There are a couple others I wear on the regular, but they are indie palettes that might be difficult to get in the UK! Wishing you a Merry Christmas!!!
I was dead set on getting that YSL palette. And then I swatched in store (two different t times!) and was so disappointed. I did get the I Need A Nude palette though so still a win!! 😊

Has anyone else or Charlotte too - have you noticed any midi Natasha denona palettes with shadows starting to crumble for no reason? I have the retro midi and its only 9 months old and some shadows are braking up into little balls and crumbling, it's so disappointing... I can still use them but it's not nice as the fallout is insane now as I try to put loose shadow on... is this a known thing with natasha denona?

I use an eye primer and wait a few minutes before applying shadows

I once bought the YSL couture eyeshadow in the colour Babylon Rose and it was awful, it just disappeared on my lids. So it was the worst this year. But everyone else is blown away by it. I am so irritated. Maybe it was just the colour? Anyone else here?
I love that huda palette. I use the glossy black shade as a liner with an angle brush. Easiest, blackest liner for me and it doesn't smudge. Natasha Denona I need a nude, Huda grunge and Danessa Myricks Groundwork palettes are all neck and neck fighting for number one. "I need a nude" and groundwork palettes are the best combo together. Huda grunge is a more popping version of "I need a nude" on my skin tone... So I can't decide. I also love the Dior Nightwalk. Least favourite was actually the Yucca palette. On my medium tan/,olive skin tone the mattes look so sad and just blend into my skin like nothing unless I choose to go green... but I rarely wear greens. BTW I did a wear test between "I need and nude" and Huda's Grunge palette (making similar looks) and Huda won. It didn't fade as easily.

This year, for the first time, I had to deal with ND customer service. Just awful. I’ve been on a 7 year hiatus from UD and have yet to break it, they make it so easy to do anyway, and I can’t say how long this one will last, but if it’s in direct proportion to the level of service I received then I’d venture to say, at the very least, 5 years and a whole hulluva lot longer from her site. I couldn’t believe how horrible they were at fixing THEIR mistake, instead acting like they did nothing wrong. I must’ve taken a flight to the distribution center to fulfill my own order and did it incorrectly OR they just figured I’d give in, which turned out to be a safe bet.
My number one palette of 2023 is the Natasha Denona My Dream palette. I don’t think it came out in 2023, but this broke b*tch couldn’t afford it till 2023 😂 I saved up my Ulta points until the sale came, and used my points on top of 20% off, so I got the palette for 30 bucks! 😊 I had been eyeing this palette since it came out.
I didn’t like the McGrath 6 pan brown palette from the Love collection. I found it at TJMaxx, and actually returned it. It was nothing special, and I think my cheap GlamLite palettes are better quality than McGrath.
I don’t know why people spend such a high amount on high-end palettes, when indie palettes are such better quality, and most of the time, a much cheaper price.
