As someone that lived and worked in A.V. pre building boom and before LA Co sent all the sec 8 ppl up because no one down below would rent to them anymore, I can honestly say "They paved Paradise and put up a parking lot". It's a shame. If you had known A.V. before the late 80's you would have seen a completely different place. Now it's over crowded, over priced, crime riddled and plain dirty. Doesn't matter how you dress it up and market it, it's still now the butthole of the High Desert. 🇺🇸🙏✌
Exactly! all the dregs of LA moved up here and destroyed what was once a promising place in the AV. I cannot wait until I retire, 10 years to go. Been living here for the past decade due to my job. I was here in the beginning of the 90s active duty. Now a civilian working in aerospace industry. I have seen it get worse and worse as the years went by. My son wants to stick around here when he graduates college, but I told him it would better serve him to not stay here. I told him if he can get a job out of state, that would be the best move he would ever make in his early adult life. If he wants to stay in Cali, I told him to look for a job in San Diego and live with his older sister. My youngest daughter, however, she told me she cannot wait to get out of dodge.
@@GitiffanSo it's more riff raft up here. It's still the lily suburb, and not Compton or Watts. I commute to Reseda, and in comparison it's very serene over here by the prison.
@@Eugene-pt5lu Lancaster is still a 💩hole. West side beyond the prison is much much better that anything east of 20th St West. Gunshots daily, and recently Don Sal's on Lancaster Blvd got shot up by a drive by. Of course the daily dose of reckless drivers.
@@Eugene-pt5lu yet these past three weeks the AV Scanners FB page has been inundating us with reckless drivers causing wrecks, hit and runs, vehicle vs pedestrian hit and runs, gunshots and people getting shot, mothers egging their daughters to fight and joining the fight themselves, the list goes on and on. Lancaster is a 💩hole and nothing you say will make it seem less of a 💩💩💩💩💩hole.

We've lived in Northern California for several years now and absolutely hate it. It snows from September till the end of June so we are considering buying land there to get away from the severe snow. It looks beautiful. I'll take hobos and dust over chest deep snow any day!

It was once a great place to grow up, but that was the 70s and 80s. Lived in the AV for 31 of my 57 years. You couldnt pay me to live there now.
