Love this song...one of Delerium's Signature songs.
First heard this at a famous hippy rave in Camden called Whirlygig back in the early Noughties. They always used to play an epic tune at the end of the night. On one of those nights, I heard this and it was a spiritual experience. Sarah's haunting voice with Delerium's spine-tingling composition make this the kind of track that lives with you forever. Steeped in memories, I can still remember the impact it had on me the first time I heard it. Mentally, physically and spiritually, it is phenomenally impactful. A testament to the power of music. ❤️

I heard this at around 7 years of age in 2001, and I remember thinking it sounded New Age but nonetheless I felt harmony in the melody and a sense of inexplicable peace, today at 24 years old it makes me wander into my relationship with the Almighty Lord Jesus.

the climax on its own it pants, the 3 minutes and 21 seconds leading up to it are what sets the scene and really makes it a magical experience to listen to, every single verse is a work of art, with the the heavenly soundtrack to accompany it. My favourite part is the "heaven holds a sense..." bit, because of the uplifting sound in the background

Wow, never heard the original version. Amazed on how so many songs were transformed with Trance. Really made remix something different and special. Unlike today where they change a few small things and call it a remix
Well actually it's a parallel to how original remixes went. Did you know that the concept started in Jamaica in the 70's? Dub was big, local producers would share their reggae jams and then other producers would change their mixes for different live events. These mixes weren't massive changes either: A few less dub lines here, a bass boost there, more delay ticks on that snare etc.
Dub instrumental variations of popular tracks got pretty big, then it all kind of spilled over into disco, ragga, jungle, eventually drum'n'bass and so and so forth as DJ's everywhere tried the same thing.

This song is on the Brokedown Palace soundtrack, that's where I heard for the first time back in 1999. After the movie I went straight to Virgin Records, got the soundtrack and one of the employees asked me if I had heard the remix by Air and Tiesto so I ended up buying the maxi-single. If I recall Tiesto's version is the best trance remix ever.
