Absolutely love the way the game is coming together, keep it up man! The Aqlantis and Amoubapod arts are some of my favorite you’ve ever done and that’s saying a lot since I’ve been a big fan of the more recent Chaos Galaxy arts. Truly all the best.
episode 9 of this series showed up in my recomended feed, so I went back from the start to watch the whole series. binged the whole lot in a day, it's really fun to watch you develop this game! I am a big pokemon TCG fan, and my wife is big into yugioh, we both love the evolver idea as a concept. some really original stuff here in terms of mechanics, and I think that really provides a good hook for an original TCG that's not just a rehash of one of the big 3
These are great to see! I noticed when you were flipping through cards, you angled them in such a way that the bottom left side was visible. If you don't mind the feedback, if you stick some small relevant stats (cost and power) on the top boarder and/or left hand boarder of the card, you can see them faster and more naturally when flipping through your hand and deck.
Its awesome that you have gotten good at drawing really good art on a small scale. That is something that most artists have trouble with, but you're doing great.
Another great video💪 Really loving the alternative artworks for amuobabot and also the colored backgrounds and shadows give the cards an more polished look! Keep up up the good work🫡
I really enjoy this series, but I’m still trying to understand how skill manifests in this game. Could you please explain? 😊 1. Choosing which defender to play: Is this purely situational, or does it require deeper strategy? 2. Choosing who to attack: Should I always attack the highest-power defender that has lower power than my attacker? 3. Targeting: How does skill factor into choosing the right target for actions? 4. Using the coin: What role does skill play in deciding whether or not to use the coin? Also, have you considered creating a digital version of the game for online testing? I think it would be a great way to introduce the game to a wider audience and explore strategies more efficiently.
1. As long as the defender’s level is your evolver stage + your dice roll, then the situation depends on what defender you should play! 2. Choosing to Attack another defender doesn’t matter, as long as your defenders attack is higher (lower attack is better though so you can save a higher attack defender for attacking an evolver) 3. The coin (steal token) starts with the player going 2nd. Instead of rolling the dice for their turn, they may steal the opponents roll from their last turn and pass the token over to their opponent - so it’s best to use this if your opponent rolled a 5 or 6
Defender ability idea: Play: If a (element) defender is in play, Draw (x) cards. Or Play: If a (element) defender is in play, Add (x) to your roll. There are lots of ways you could go with this idea
@ChaosGalaxyTCG Also got the idea just now to make an ability constant while a defender is in play and maybe put it on a low HP defender, like for example While in play: Block all effectors that boost a defenders HP
I have been absolutely enjoying this series so much!! It's so nice seeing someone else doing their own tcg (as I am doing my own). I wish i could draw as well you haha. Keep up the good work!!!
I actually quite liked the face-down mechanic. It definitely added some strategy and risk to the game with defenders that kill attackers when killed. Effects like that only work as "gotcha!" kind of effects when the player doesnt know that is what they are triggering, or if something can redirect an attack from it. Either the game needs this mechanic or one like it, or some new interactions need to be planned for those kinds of cards, because a "kill the defender that killed this defender" starts looking like a prettybinsurmountable wall once you get a juice or two into it
You should make a card that can atack the evolver even when there are enemy defenders. But it isnt very strong so you have to have a few to even kill the evolver.
Here’s some more inspiration for card art/gameplay/etc: (1) Coral: Aquatic living organism with a Rock appearance. Coral offers some fun color incorporation for card art as well as some symmetry between these opposing deck. It’s an interesting concept; especially if you consider abilities. Maybe a camouflage / deflecting ability. (can’t be hit by defenders 350+ / redirect opponents attack) I’d like to see your take on incorporating this into either starter deck. (2) You mentioned “Trap” cards and my mind went to Stalagmites. Sharp, Icicle-Like cave formation feature that comes from the ground. Not sure of a gameplay effect though, but it’s a cool visual and can be added to the Rock deck. Hope this helps! Happy New Year and Happy Holidays!
This has been such a fun series! Have you thought about for a new type of card, being like a "trigger" card?A la your instant spells in other games. And it could give some turn interaction as well. Such as "If a defender dies from battle you may trigger this card: destroy attacking defender". Can't wait for the next video!
Yeeessss Friday treat. Loved the video, loved the extra behind the scenes bits. I love the visual updates too, especially the alt arts and coloured backgrounds 🙌🙌🙌 I'll keep saying it though, would be easier to follow and easier to comprehend and compare cards with you knocked a zero off of the power numbers. 48 vs 50 instead of 480 vs 500 etc.
Thanks!!! And really do you think?? I feel like the extra zero makes the numbers seem bigger and cooler 😂😂 also if they were single digits they might be slightly confusing with the defenders’ level next to it?
@ChaosGalaxyTCG I definitely see what you're saying, bigger numbers are cooler, but I think it's worth a try, maybe a play test. I heard this in some card development video some time (can't remember where) and also wasn't sure at first but making it simpler makes the game easier to understand and also equate cards to each other more easily. I definitely take your point on having a few single (ish) digit numbers could be confusing, but plenty of games do this. Marvel Snap uses coloured shape and border to differentiate for example. Worth a try! See what you think
@@MinedFire yeah I wish I could put out more videos but I need to do a lot of work to get enough content for each one so gotta be a slow and steady process unfortunately!

Yeah I find it surprisingly confusing too having loads of cards called ‘XXX’ with no artwork - I guess art in tcgs is more important than a lot of people think!
If you’re still taking card idea suggestions then I think an interesting Evolver line would be some sort of doubler line, with effects like “If you roll a 1/2/3, instead of adding this card’s level, you can double that roll instead.” (I don’t know how strong this is so it might need a downside or just be a 1/2 roll instead of a 1/2/3 roll.) “Double one Defender’s power, but kill it at the end of your turn.” “Double power buffs/debuffs” “Once per game, you can draw a second card.” (I almost want this to also apply for every draw effect for the turn you activate it only, but I’m not sure how vital drawing will be for this game.)
Happy New Year Dude! Love what your are doing. Very inspiring. Your videos are great content. Only thing that rubs me the wrong way is the „Loser“ tag in your introduction. Trap cards/react cards that react to something that happens on field that you hold in hand would be interesting. To balance them, maybe your evolver has to be a certain level as well. Additionally: maybe an archetype/card family could be based around debuffing defenders' attacks?
and i got a question now, how do you publish these and make them sellable stuff? how do u print A looooot of em and make dif products? am i going to far?
Could be cool to have an ability on some defenders that when they die, they flip face down with 0 stats. It would immediately die to a 2nd attack, but 2 blocks could be really useful on a mid level defender.
What about an evolver line that start with an seemingly normal house then adds more to it and in the end there's some twist to it i just love the idea of a building as an evolver line
Perhaps instead of doing a hell and a heaven type, just do a "spirit"/"ghost" type, some sort of undead type that fits both heaven and hell themes that way your not limited to just demon aesthetic
