I raced an 04 Challenge Cup bike for a couple years, and what an amazing machine! Taught me so much more about the art of racing than the 600 and 1000 ever did.🤘🏻
Nice save at around 5:00. :) Started the biker life in ‘92 on a Rd350 Lc 31k. Similar power but not so hi-tech suspension/brake (it wasn’t bad at all but this rs is like a real gp bike.) it is good to see proper 2t bikes in their best environment, the racetracks.
Perhaps don't brake so early on the high speed corners and wouldn't harm to get a bit closer to a lot of the Apex and you'd be spanking that SRAD. I like the way you drift wide while on the throttle exiting a lot of the corners though. Nice. I appreciate it's a ride day and we all hold back a little for the sake of our pride and joy, but plenty of missed opportunities to throw it up the inside safely imo. Nice vid. Wish I was there.
I have a few questions. How often do you clean your power valves (they are two on the RS 250, right?)? It seems you don't have a steering damper. How do you avoid a tank slapper? Is it lubricated via oil pump? I imagine that coasting (letting off accelerator without clutch) with premix (without lubrication from the oil pump) is bad for the engine as it gets a lot less oil for the given RPM. Does oil pump solve this problem completely? Really nice track day you have documented here.
With stock engine, fully desrestricted and adjusted, like mine: i send to the mechanic every 5000km's to clean valves and lubrificat the power valve cables. It has 2 power valves because the engine is a Vtwin. The power valve system has to kick and smooth as silk, so every thing needs to be clean, lubrificated and adjusted. Pistons MUST, change EVERY 15kms. Best advice i can give you and thats what i do. Steering damper, Yes, should use..... I have the oil pump working and until today i havent had any problems, maybe because i dont leave too much the engine at hi-revs without THROTTLE. Every time i shift a gear down, i give it a litlle throttle while the clutch is pushed and when i'm going down hill in traffic and can not acelerat, i push the clutch and give a few times of throttle to put some nice misture to lub the cylinders because this bikes need to be taken care of
I'm 100% sure it's 15000 kilometers. Don't forget that if a piston is new, you must do a run, usually lasting first 1000 kilometers (correct me if i'm wrong about run in distance).
Great stuff - I'm old school and had no idea a 250 was so fast. It now becomes clear why the government removed these and a couple of other 250s from the learner approved list whilst allowing, say, an earlier XJ750 of the 1980s! Just goes to show how much technology has advanced! Col, NZ.

You have great, fun and rare bike! Great agility and power. Don't sell! Which one wins drag race 1/4 mile GSXR 600 or RS 250cc?
Hi. GSXR 600 Has double of engine size and wins but the Rs 250 will be crossing the finish line a second after 😊
@@franciscosantos5505 Aah okay 😊 But anyways RS 250cc > GSXR 600cc. Its more funnier 😊

" Pistons MUST, change EVERY 15kms. " Did I read it right? Did you mean 15.000 kms or real 15 km-9,32 miles?
