I had a mk1 RS250 for a few years and they are great bikes. Im no racer but it was a really quick bike. In the right hands these bikes could be real tools
@@aaronrockefeller5077 They have hardly changed the chassis in decades as it was so sorted almost 30years ago, RSV4Rs still use an evolution of this chassis.
I enjoyed that. Just working on my Rs250 mrk1 96 Rossi rep, sorted carbs Friday after being off the road for a couple of years in garage, tried to start up, engine is seized 🙈. Having a look tomorrow, had wd40 in cylinders all weekend. 🙏
Glad see another comment thinking the same as me. This was no way near the bikes potential in the bends. The Rs250 was a monster in the bends fast in fast out. It looked as though the rider was either fairly new to the track and or was just being overly cautious to not interrupt the other riders lap too much. It is a far lighter bike and if you keep that band in its will sing the whole damn way round.. Crap endings for reliability but an amazing bike when cared for. Get on the power a little sooner would be my only advice watching this but overall a good cautious ride
I worked in a shop with one of these on the showroom floor and an RGV 250, back then as a teen I was only interested in motocross bikes my gaffer would let me work off bike payments with my wages top bloke. I wish I’d of got my hands on one of them 250’s now.
Can not see the rs 250 win, but it is a timeless flymachine. At least it kills before or in the corner. I would not be able to ride that hard with mine. Love the two strokes baby....!! (Have one by the way...)
Its a feature on the aprilia dash to give indication reaching redline engine revs. U can set it to whatever revs you want, but it loses its setting everytime you disconnect the battery or let it go flat. Quite easy to reset but I have to look up the process each time haha. I have left a paper print out in my tool box myself
That temperature really amaze me, it shows how well the bike is tune and build. But i want to know what with the slipage between gear, is it cause by quickshifter, or clutch?
This reminds me of production racing in the 1980s were we raced the little Yamaha 350 LC in the open class against Suzuki GS1000s, Kawasaki kz1000s and Honda CBX1000s and nine times out of ten the LC would beat them.
bring back the 2 strokes
They are making a comeback.. Yippee.. ! 👍
@@karlpedersen7 really?
2 stroke is sound, feeling and power like a beast! Just passion. Never a e bike !!
I watched about five minutes of this and suddenly realized my neck was hurting from willing the bike to go faster.

Lovely power band and light.
How does a bike this age feel compared to newer chassis? Only heard great things from the Aprilias
Older chassis from aprilia are better than newer ones. Only state of the art with no matter for the costs. Only pure forged aluminum

my thought was the same... he was feathering it into the corners
Yes be was racing but conserving too lol
If I had one no way I would use it on a track In fear of crashing this beauty

Deffo happened
Even if Suzuki lose, it still wins
Underrated comment.
Thats Pat on the GSXR.. a Taupo regular.
Any decent rider on the 1000 would be quicker UNLESS it was a very technical circuit. Which this track is not 👎
No 2 stroke go breeee

WHY DID I SELL MY RS250 😭
How can 250cc bike can race with 1000cc ❤️❤️
