Amazing. Voice is very fresh. He sang Tristan over 150 times. The the singer with next most performances had 50. Lots of hard miles on that voice, but very little wear.

Lauritz makes a very apt Borge stooge - that look of hurt surprise, for example.
Opera voices use to show signs of wear as singers get older. Melchiors voice didn´t!
