Very true in movies things for the military go wrong
2000: Sebastian becomes Hollow man and uses his power for personal reasons
2002 : norman becomes the green goblin then loses his mind and kills people
2008: bolonsky becomes the abomination and has rampage in new York
Bad mistakes that are military related

Something to consider is the name of the movie 'Hollow Man' representing a sociopath. Sociopaths often fake personalities, pretend to be charming, proclaim to be God, often feel empty inside I.E. 'Hollow' after the serum took effect he felt liberated, went crazy and his true self was released. Just a thought.

Miss Lissy It invalidates it completely because you used the wrong term, please educate yourself on terminology before writing some things on the internet. A sociopath merely manipulates the people around him to his will.
The real hollow man in this film is Sebastian because he is willing to do everything to succeed his project, without caring about his subjects.

I think it is not because of the serum that the animal turned back visible. It was electric shock that did the job. When they tested it on the Gorilla subject, it was about to turn invisible again, then they use the shocking device (or whatever it's called) to keep it alive. Thanks to that it became visible. However, when they used the serum on Sebastian, they didn't use the shocking device so he turned back to invisible. At the end of the movie, when he got electric shock, his body turned visible (not entirely).

Ha, thats funny because Hollow Man is one of the reasons I QUIT visual effects. It consumed 1 1/2 years of my life toiling on the camera and head tracking for the invisibility shots. I kept working for 10 more years, but it taught me to hate rotation (body tracking). Back then it was manually animated - not computer motion capture as done today - and I pitied the animators that did the full-body rotomation.

Not EVERY unit is holding onto thermals 100% of the time.
      Or....they aren't engaged 100% of the time.
Thermals are almost useless on hot days near certain materials. Perfect time for invisible ambush.
And just like special units...that go in with MINIMUM equipment....they are only sent for 1 task only.
So..send the invisible in first, ambush and sabotage...and only then will survivors know to even use thermals.
Hopefully their shit is already fucked though. So they are weaker already.
So...as much as we THINK we're smart, there's always a reason to use even the most simplistic, basic, types of attacks in advanced wars

@@dannyd4339 yea...there are many ways...but not all of them used...by everyone...all the time..
There's a reason we have sniper teams, special units, advanced units, air units, and then just plain infantry and so on.
They all serve different purposes. You're thinking too narrow. You're only applying this idea to one simple situation.
Spies are part of the team.
They would test, then create a better situation where maybe not needed in serum form and works quicker...or something. ADDED with other tech they are creating..making some pure stealth boys lol
Put it like this...as a gunner in iraq.I was in a few trucks where I wasn't covered...theough sniper areas. Because not EVERY unit was outfitted that way. We have the designs and many trucks DID have bullet proof shielding around the gunners perch. But many did not. And those that d idnt were obviously attacked with sniper fire more. And those that were more protected...were attacked with I.E.D.s more because the shielding created some kind of limitations in speed of turn and therefore reaction, and therefore overall attack.
Point is...not EVERY location is outfitted at all or 100% of the time with EVERY defense there is to have. There are always openings and different avenues of approach,
MGSV actually portrayed this very well.
Catching them off guard when they alsomdont expect all the bells and whistles is still a great strategy

Very underrated film. An interesting revisitation of the thought of Platone but in a sci-fi / horror key.
What I think the public does not appreciate about this film is that half of the time it follows the character of Sebastian and becomes attached, but when he starts to go crazy and become bad, then the public is confused and in pain… Personally this is one the main reasons why I love this movie and the final question that leaves us: did Sebastian become a monster because of the serum or why did he have power?

    • @agonleed3841
      @agonleed3841 5 років тому +3

He became a monster because he fell into a space in his mind where he BELIEVED he could do what he wanted.
And it was like an example of "The minds of men" and by that, I mean PEOPLE. Even women would try to get away with shit they normally wouldn't do, if they thought NO ONE could see them.
But...a lot of people wanted to BLAME it on the serum.
So we saw that as well. How people will blame other things instead of taking responsibility or how others will blame things for you, instead of making you responsible. All the while this character was just fuckijg people's shit up.
It was a great fucking movie lol

And because it's main way of communicating with the humans relied on visuals....after the invisible test...pretty sure that many things were, by it's understanding, ignored. If you've ever been admitted in a hospital for a long stay, you understand that frustration.

The story, performance's, music, and special effects was outstanding and incredible. Kevin Bacon did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Sebastian Caine as he put tons of emotion and depth into his role. A brilliant yet arrogant scientist that has hunger for power and once he has that power it really takes a dark and sinister turn as he is tempted to use it for evil intentions. 😱😰 To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍😎👍💯

I found the scene where he turns slowly invisible so cool, creative and effective! The idea that the serum affects the body part by part is just genius.
Also the reason why I think he's so damn creepy, especially when wearing the mask, is you can't see his facial expressions any more. So to no point you can tell if he's serious or playing around.
Thus that transition from prankster to psycho slowly intergrades.
