I agree. I actually think that’s how Katie knew Dan was murdered. The part where he said Sigfredo called to tell Katie it was done and he heard her say “I know” Wendi drove by and saw the ambulance and cops there so she probably told her brother and then he let Katie know.

@@rozanne799 He was charged with the death penalty. The only solution for him to escape that charge is FLIPPING which is taking a plea. Self preservation is always there when it comes to plea deal. Even Katie is wanting a deal for her sentence after her conviction. The prosecutors have a job to find EVERYONE accountable in this murder so Rivera's testimony is relevant for the conviction of the above (Katie, Charlie and probably Donna). Murder for hire cases are difficult to prove without someone taking a plea especially with many players involved (Wendi, Harvey, Donna, Charlie, Katie, Sigfredo, Luis)

Honestly, the whole being born into the Latin Kings thing makes me feel a bit sympathetic... just saying... probably more so, because he’s not using it as an excuse- it’s just a fact of his life and all he knows... or has ever known... which is essentially a life’s mentality of literal survival...

Happy Tappy He is a criminal. He admitted that he knew that they are going to kill someone. He is not a saint. He is only cooperating for lesser sentence because he doesn’t want a death penalty.
Somewhat honest at best. The thing is he's lied so much at different times that he's confusing himself about what to be truthful about as far as the small details go... but I believe he's being truthful about The Adelsons funding the job.
These lawyers are horrible, they are pretty much testifying instead of asking questions. They are dreadful. They need to prosecute the whole Adelson family. The wife and the mother and possibly the father.
Money talks... 🤷🏻♀️ or incompetent investigators 🤷🏻♀️ or incompetent prosecutorial staff... honestly, when the opening statements were done, I was completely turned off and disengaged from this case; because the magnitude of details that were provided without any visual aid to afford anyone the means to keep up with all the alleged connections made it turn into a Charlie Brown teacher talk- you know Whot whot whot ... even the reporters for this trial commented on the difficulty in keeping up with the facts... they are all over the place with this case... I feel like some of the details should have been preserved for the sentencing phase... and what’s wild, is if “they” actually want to charge the Adelson’s they are literally giving away EVERYTHING they have on the case... which is ignorant as is, but even more so, when considering that Wendi is an attorney herself, and clearly knows how to evade answering questions with anything definitive... (on the real, she essentially demonstrated the way to answer questions without actually answering questions); this is significant, because it makes nearly everything she said speculation, and the ONLY things that can be used against her or them, are the things that the prosecutors have physical evidence of. That combined with Wendi’s ability to coach whomever with testimony (keep in mind she TEACHES law, which entails all the dynamics of every element) Which equates to what- no case, no accountability, and basically the “perfect” murder... Lastly, I feel this case is being presented so poorly, that it simply sounds speculative. Aside from Luis’ confession, they have nothing. Because you’ve got to have motive and a body. They’ve got the body... but without a connection to Luis, there’s no case... it clearly wasn’t a vengeance thing on Luis’ part and definitely wasn’t a gang assassination 🙄 and the way they are going against Luis’ credibility, they are going to lose the ONLY person who is admitting fault 😂 funny but not funny. We all know what happened... but good luck holding the right people accountable...
Rivera agrees that 'family is everything'... Yet he could watch Dan Markel drop his 2 little sons off at daycare and still go ahead and watch Garcia execute him... then he gets a plea deal... what a crazy, sad world we live in.
He is a man that could have contributed to society .going to Harvard...they just didn't take any man...a man that is well educated, a father ..you just don't do that 😕 that include everyone the masterminds too...could have married somebody else and have more children...deal with him kindly...divorces happen everyday...why commit two sins???
Yea...although if the plea had not happened, more than likely KM would still be sucking money off Charlie, Charlie would still be boating with new girlfriends, and Wendi, Donna, and Harvey would still be living large without diarrhea.

Well, if family is everything, money is "more everythinger". 😂😂😂 Seriously though, money is indeed more powerful than family in certain circumstances. And when people say, "family is everything", I'd take that as they're really just talking about their OWN family...and, apparently, they don't care about other people's families. So, "family is everything" is a phrase that people use based on their own values, interpretation, and meaning of that phrase. It doesn't have the same meaning to different people.
Listening to Luis talk knowing that his life could end at any time should mean something....I feel sorry for the man who was killed and I think that the ex-wifes family are involved and hopefully they dont walk away free from their parts. I hope that Luis family are not harmed because he spoke and gave evidence.

All of the defense lawyers are clowns. They just keep asking the same questions. They expect him to remember the exact words he used 5 years ago. I think his story is consistent and believable.
I am concerned for the lady attorney here. I think I hear her admitting to multiple crimes when she repeatedly claims she "axes" people. "I axed you" , "I axed him". Please, someone call the cops
Too funny!! All that education and no one taught her this simple word!! Especially when she's going to be AXING a lot of questions in her career...And her pronunciation of "remembo" cracks me up!!
The defense is making themselves look so bad. It's obvious they're trying to confuse him and make him contradict himself and he's not falling for it. I don't like that he helped with a murder but he's a dang good witness. And it looks like he's just telling the truth. If there are any contradictions it's probably just an issue with remembering really tiny details.

By mentioning how he drove past Wendi and she was walking in the neighborhood when they went to get the job done … she will be charged. Then she went back again driving this time around and had to be detoured by the cops/crime scene. The prosecution said it right - she couldn’t help herself. SMH. Wow
I have hardly watched , incredible Wendi was walking in neighborhood right after shooting..that means LOTS of residential cameras have Wendi at scene of crime not just driving nearby once
Despite the fact that Luis participated in a heinous crime, he comes across as truthful. He and Jeffrey LaCasse gave credible testimonies in my opinion. May justice be finally served.
This trial involving the hitmen in Tallahassee is intriguing and tremendously sad. This case is sad because this father was murdered because he wanted to be a good father. These people are here because somebody wanted to interfere with married people issues.

She asks also about mdma and cocaine consume. A big issue at 1:19 of the questioning was if the paper with the picture of Dan Markel and address was b/w or colour. Rivera gave different answers in the depositions or didn't remember. "But the deposition with me you described it as in colour!" then she stopped immediately thinking it was BS and not relevant. Judge at the end: he cocaine selling where the money (allegedly) comes from is not ot probative value in this case.

I see now that I've watched a bit more, that these attorneys are trying to impeach his testimony. This seems wrong somehow, given that without his cooperation they might not have had much of a case. This lady does a better job than the male attorney, but honestly I get so sick of them raising their voices and trying to make a huge statement about this guy's honesty by quibbling over what exact words were used. Nobody remembers everything down to the details of what words were used to convey an idea. Luis is not being fake or dishonest here. He seems to always be himself, and to try to be truthful. I now feel a deeper sadness for him, knowing he did not actually shoot the victim. Had he been raised with the same opportunities that the ex wife had while growing up, I wonder what he might have done with his life.
"Without his cooperation they might not have had much of a case." You realize these are the defense attorneys, right? The state brings the case. The defense tries to undermine the case. Are you beginning to understand?

Luis Rivera is perhaps with more hear and compassion than the psychopath narcissist Wendi (and her family) who contracted to have her wonderful husband killed. Wendi never cared for the children she gave birth to. I feel sorry for those kids.
Yeah, because a person with compassion and heart helps kill a total stranger, who is the father of 2 small children and has done absolutely nothing to him, for money. Please! Give me a break!
This is when it got absurd: 15:30 lawyer asks “you do take your job as a father seriously, right?” Luis replies “yes, mam.” This guys seems legit but he is a career criminal who has five kids; he ain’t a good father at all. I don’t care what he claims. The court must not allow defendants to claim such ridicule statements under the oath.

Wow. I did not think Garcias lawyer scored a single point, but she is very good. Well prepared, so much to the point. She didn't establish any real lies, but she sure managed to make him look a bit confused on facts and dates sometimes. I think she may actually be able to sneak in some doubt, however unreasonable. Her opening was already real impressive. It amazes me how many extremely intelligent, talented, highly educated, experienced and well spoken women are seen in these US trials, either in law enforcement, as procecutors, defense lawyers, judges, in forensics, forensic medicine etc. Only few I considered as less than excellent and often I found them better than their male colleages. I seriously don't think we have so many of these great female professionals in European courts.
@Gerald Williamson obviously you are just repeating what you wrote in your own post with which I totally disagree. Male lawyers habitually bark annoyingly loud and harsh at witnesses all the time with few viewers complaining, why should women not be tough and harsh voiced? The female prosecutor is a very fine lawyer as well, she with a nice, soft voice and a different style, more like a snake that will soothe you then bite, where the defense lawyer has her tough style. However the prosecutor stumbled when Rivera said he could not refresh his memory by reading earlier depositions because he can't read and write. And she did not know how to deal with it - this is something she knew and should have been prepared for. Thats the only error I could see in her work so far.
Luis saying he saw Wendi walking with the boys on the sidewalk the morning of the murder is strange. I would think that the phone experts would have been asked if Wendi had traveled to Dan's before the murder. Wendi took her phone the second trip when she drove by Dan's 90 minutes after the murder and evidently saw the crime scene.
His claim was they saw Wendi and the kids the day BEFORE the murder while they drove around and scoped out the scene. That has been proven not her per TPD … (allegedly unless they're lying/pretending still about this case). The boys were in school at that time … per TPD … thus, it couldn't have been Wendi and HER kids. They were just paranoid. Because the woman allegedly got on the phone after she saw them. It's an upscale neighborhood. That part could have really happened … if the neighbor didn't recognize just their CAR inside THAT neighborhood. Or, is he straight up lying? To pretend he's never met/seen Wendi … just incase he really has? Most likely just 'paranoid' from all the cocaine use combined with residents in that neighborhood would be suspicious of unknown CARS in the areas. Most especially if they had just had a string of robberies recently. And, they had! Wendi going out of her way to drive by the crime scene just moments after the murder … is going to be smoking gun. Her phone pinged in the area. Marks time and location. Then she went to ABC liquor and continued on her path to lunch where she conveniently IGNORED all incoming messages on her phone. Her phone was lighting up during her lunch …. everyone asking her about what was going in her old neighborhood and or was her ex husband okay? No replies from Wendi. And, Rivera … has always stated he's known it was for 'the lady' about her kids. And, Wendi knowing both Dan's schedule and Jeffrey L. schedules on that day. Luckily, Jeffrey L. changed his schedule last minute … and didn't tell anyone, not even Wendi. HE would have been right there near the crime scene leaving for his planned trip … had he not left the day/night before.
@@margaretlee-reed814 Where did you see the details about Wendi's phone blowing up during lunch and people knowing about an incident in her old neighborhood? Was that presented in the trial? Also what was the timing of the call that Rivera says happened between Garcia and Kaddie after the murder during which Garcia tells Kaddie that the murder is done and Kaddie tells Garcia that she knows already? I think that the shooting was 11 AM and that Wendi's drive by the scene was around 12:30 PM. (90 mins vs. moments -- and of course this still points to Wendi's guilt).
@@KenDanieli Also, the alleged phone call to allegedly Katie was quoted from newspaper articles. Thus, was there or was there a phone ping to back that phone call up? Once, the state showed evidence that the family IS unequivocally involved ... and the steps they took in totality everyone they "used" may have been involved or NOT. They've decided Jeffrey was not. One must determine if that could be true of Katie just as well. Because Wendi didn't know Jeffrey changed his driving schedule last minute. Is it a great possibility that she was just FINE framing him? Looks Like. Including involving another innocent person. The TV repairman. And, could the phone call have been over - Garcia immediately hangs up - and states out loud to himself or Rivera - "you know I gotta call my baby momma"". (And, dose.) Or, Garcia simply calls Katie and tells her I'm done without context provided or known - and allegedly she says "I'm done"?) Who knows - given the source and what HE was facing - the Death Penalrt. Because how is Garcia so involved? Who did Charlie contact in 2013 for the murder for hire julki g? Katie? Really? They had BARELY met each other. One should ask who Charlie really knows. He gets his mom to pay Katie as his "assistant". (Okay) But, the job or payments stop about the same time as Rivera's arrest ... not Garcia's arrest? Or, was that another Coincidence? And, Garcia's alleged jailhouse confession - "I wish I had never involved Katie". Presuming the statement is even true. And, in Leon County - 50/50 at best. And, again no context. Phone call pings only? He gave money to Katie for deposits into her account? He doesn't quite understand the bump - "Katie and Tuto"? (No way to know for sure without context.) Could Katie have easily received money from Charlie - enlisted Garcia without telling him who Dan Markel was related to - and then Garcia enlists his BFF? (Sure - easiest route) But, did "that" happen? Maybe not. But, it doesn't line up perfectly with everything else now released/known. Garcia seems to know a lot of details. But, even then it seems he only knows but and pieces. (Hurry up get the job done he's leaving town tomorrow or soon? Jeffrey was leaving town "to orrow" and Dan was leaving g town soon? Correction: Rivera not Garcia knows a lot of details. No idea what Garcia knows. He's never stated openly. And above it should have stated ("I know".) not ("I'm done".) Sorry for confusion. And, where was Katie's phone pings all morning the day AFTER the shooting? Most especially when Jessica just "found/saw" the money. Still wrapped. Not dispersed. And, instructed by Rivera (I believe I've the phone) don't touch? And, what time was that? (Can't believe TPD hasn't pin pointed that down ...or maybe they have.) Some times you have to give someone enough rope and just let them talk. Obviously, they have to see/hear what everyone else does. No?

@@rozanne799 The prosecutors welcomed his testimony up to Charlie's trial (and possibly Donna's trial) even if he's a career criminal. Not even Sigfredo or Katie can't do this

@@rozanne799 He was charged with the death penalty. The only solution for him to escape that charge is FLIPPING which is taking a plea. Self preservation is always there when it comes to plea deal. Even Katie is wanting a deal for her sentence after her conviction. Honest? Dude he lied left and right in every deposition lol
These lawyers are horrible, they are pretty much testifying instead of asking questions. They are dreadful. They need to prosecute the whole Adelson family. The wife and the mother and possibly the father.
Someone please explain WHY the adlesons are still walking around free, no charges, not required to testify, why Wendyi was given immunity...

@@nancyleehampton8 Exactly. It is definitely easier to believe people are bad rather than looking at the entire scenario. I see a lot of good in this man.
Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't trust this man. He's a rat and that's a big no no in gang life. He's going end up dead in prison.
Must have been beyond hard for Dan Markle's parents listening to him explain that they bought motorcycles with the money hat they were paid to kill their son
Magbanua's lawyer likes the sound of her own voice too. Ugh
How many times do we have to hear her say “ you swore to tell the truth and only the truth” how about we ask her about what she did on a certain day and ask her several times in case she needs help remembering.
In the right surroundings this guy could have been a good and I believe intelligent person.
He is intelligent and smart. Just his circumstances in life were not conducive for his personal intellectual development.
On the other hand, where did these defense lawyers come from? They are irritating. How is he able to tolerate their incompetency?
Since watching Georgia do her stuff i haven't seen any other Attorney in her league IMHO
I following from the UK 🇬🇧 and I'm glued to it.
Free rivera. Arrest all the addelson
.. worse than dirty laundry family
Don't be a fool.
Tara's tone of voice is so loud and agressive towards Luis Rivera, she is so rude to him. He come across as a kind person who was mistreated as a child n did not have opportunities and love. My heart goes out to him and his family.
Your heart goes out to him?? The Man literally will kill anybody from money.. I don't care what your childhood is like ....that is evil!
@@astrialindah2773 If we were more compassionate towards folks of color perhaps people like him would not existe.
Why are the women in whatever profession labeled as "aggressive"
They're both rude and condescending. Ironically, GC is the only one who treats him with some ounce of respect.
@@Lilly_434 And lets remember it was Luis Rivera courage to speak out that gave the cops the road map to investigate the mobster Miami crime family.
What difference does it make what color the pic was????
Karma will come for Wendy and her family
I hope the detectives arrest her but they may need Charlie to give her up or they may have phone records to implicate her.
sad i like this criminal
That is sad. Because he'd have no problem shooting you in the face if you had something he wanted.
Grow up.
Of course you do. Attorneys are very unlikeable.
It's hard to believe this man had many days to think about killing Dan and deciding to do it.
There is no reason to feel anything for these two killers. They made a choice to take an innocent human life for a few bucks.
Agree
Luis Rivera is perhaps with more hear and compassion than the psychopath narcissist Wendi (and her family) who contracted to have her wonderful husband killed. Wendi never cared for the children she gave birth to. I feel sorry for those kids.
Sad, sad, sad, this wasted life. Does he know how precious he is in God's eyes?
Exactly!
They’re all evil, but seriously don’t say this dude is better than the Adelsons.

How do you know if he's a good father? You aren't there when he's parenting. What does how many kids he has have to do with how good a father he is?
She’s trying so hard to catch him lying.
This Jamican attorney is a joke.
Andy Holliman she’d be alright if she’d ever make a valid point 🙄 She’s got a voice that should be able to be infamous in a court room for shutting down any defense... However, instead her voice has turned into this twisted pecking and picking of information... Im curious what the jury thinks already... I could see this being a hung jury... even with a confession lol

She's Katie's lawyer, not Sigfredo's
Totally disagree, she sounds like she is screaming, same as her opening

Hahahahah..."how do you get pay when selling cocaine?"....hahaha...Rivera's face says it all...With greens.......lol
@@KenDanieli Local papers? Or, police records released after Garcia's arrest?podcasts?
@@KenDanieli Also, the alleged phone call to allegedly Katie was quoted from newspaper articles. Thus, was there or was there a phone ping to back that phone call up? (I presume yes but missed hearing it in all of the cell phone data?) But, it's hearday because it's Rivera's word. And, he's shown he lies to avoid death sentencing. In addition to they had more than two phones. Could drunk/high Rivera be confusing two different phone calls made on two different phones? And, do burn phones ping? If not ...are they sure the FIRST call went out to Katie? When did Rivera allegedly hear Garcia tell someone it's done? And, that's presuming Rivera didn't call someone saying the job was done? Did either or speak with Wendi? Would Wendi or could Wendi even recognize their voices? Maybe not. It's possible the only phone call police picked up first by phone records was a non burn phone? Possible Garcia didn't worry about contacting Katie ...if she's totally unaware if a murder? And, presuming the conversation took place what is context? Murder? Robbery? Drug drop off/pick up? Rivera's claim it was a "robbery" per Garcia. What was Katie told (if anything) about the trip? Presuming she's aware they are out of town? (*The owl comments are from Rivera ...again. Show us the Instagram record. If Katie KNEW of everything ... then why we're Donna and Wendi jumping through hoops to frame Jeffrey? Once, the state showed evidence that the family IS unequivocally involved ... and the steps they took in totality everyone they "used" may have been involved or NOT. They've decided Jeffrey was not. One must determine if that could be true of Katie just as well. Because Wendi didn't know Jeffrey changed his driving schedule last minute. Is it a great possibility that she was just FINE framing him? Looks Like. Including involving another innocent person. The TV repairman. Did the trial point out WHEN Donna made that call ... ro Tallahassee ..for her daughter's alleged broken TV? Where Wendi can conveniently cover for Charlie. Oh, Hitman ... he's a joker?! The "sickness" that surrounds this case is dark.
@@KenDanieli Also, although exact timing of Garcia's alleged phone call to Katie is unknown I do recall they had been driving away for quite some time. Over an hour? But, under two hours? (About the time Wendy would have known - may have known "it's done - I Know") Coincidence? All We di needs is a burn phone to use and then dump? No?
She always says, “We’ll come back to that later”. 🙄
That’s so annoying why take up a little later. WTF?!?
Katie’s lawyer wasn’t great in my opinion. She argues issues that don’t matter and make Luis look better and more likable
Actually everything she said mattered. She impeached him at every turn. When the state tried that, prosecutor asked the Judge for som guidance when she learned Rivera was illiterate...the judge said "I don't give guidance".
And you claim she makes him more likable? Why do you like a murderer who wouldn't bat an eye if he was asked to kill you for money?
