- First I would like to mention...
Honolulu-The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (formerly State Civil Defense) has cancelled the monthly test of the statewide outdoor siren warning system scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2015. This cancellation is to avoid confusion as Hurricane Ignacio moves by the Hawaiian Islands.Tests of outdoor sirens and the Emergency Alert System are conducted simultaneously, normally on the first working day of the month, in cooperation with Hawaii’s broadcasting industry. The next regularly schedule monthly test will be on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at 11:45 AM.
OK, now on to this video.
MAKAHA, Hawaii- Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HI-EMA), formerly known as State Civil Defense, together with the City and County of Honolulu Department of Emergency Management conducted siren testing (Modulator 6024B) at Keaau Beach Park Tuesday September 15, 2015 at about 11:10 AM.
Residents nearby may hear the siren sound six to eight times for 30-second to one-minute intervals during the identified timeframe. Testing will include short blasts known as “burps.” During the tests, technicians will check that installation work on this siren has been completed properly.
