Connor, just want to tell you that I spend about 3-5 hours a day on Orioles related news, research, etc and while I sometimes disagree with some of your takes, I find your analysis and context to be the best

Love the Stevie "Dr Poo Poo" Wilkerson shirt while talking about pitching! Don't know if you meant to do it, but it gave me a much needed chuckle thinking of Wilkerson's save. Good stuff!

Heard Jim Palmer say why not bring back for 3rd stint Terry Crowley as hitting coach .Many Orioles team hutting records were all set when Crowley was hitting coach .

I just can't let go of the way the middle of the line-up looked like deers in the headlights - especially in the second game. Santander's swinging/check swinging strikes at two balls that bounced in front of the plate? Cowser so amped up he was swinging before realizing a ball was making a bee line for his body(a lost trying run)? And although always a free swinger, and really just back from injury, Mountcastle looks terrible regularly swinging at pitches nowhere near the strike zone. Can a new hitting coach(or psychologist?) help teach how to relax more in the playoffs? Don't know. But certainly not getting past the first round doesn't help get more experience at looking as calm as Mullins did? And there must be a sweeter spot for the playoffs between playing smaller ball(like the Royals) and this year's radical change swinging much more for the fences. On a positive note? Kudos to all the pitchers!

Do not bring Santander back it’s another Chris Davis situation. Use that money and pay Burnes. I would like to see them get Kyle Tucker.

    -Resign Santander
    -Sign Fried
    -Cowser extension

Yes.... It still hurts but I'm not panicking this is still young as hell team that needs to learn to hate to lose more than love to win. This i guarantee will stick in all those young guys craw... Grab some power and some arms in FA and let's go again!! Go Birds!

We need a reliable bat or two that can hit the ball with RISP and less than 2 outs.

I would give Burnes a blank check. I'm extremely hesitant on Tony. Yes he had a great season home run wise. But his Batting Average went way down. We all know what happened the last time when the Orioles resigned a 40 home run .230 average guy.

I am there too. I think they could allocate that money elsewhere. I would love to see Burnes back, just not sure they are willing to give the years that would be required... But Burnes certainly seems to be someone who prides himself on taking care of himself, so I do think he's about as low of an injury risk as there is in pitchers these days. A trade for Crochet or targeting Fried would be my B options. Would love to see a good lefty like one of them come into Camden Yards and thrive

@@ravenlunatic1168I'd love to have Burnes back (duh). My only concern is a long contract because of injury concern. Conversely, I'd be overjoyed with a shorter contract in years and a massive AAV so the team isn't locked in long term in case of an injury, but doubt that gets it done. That said, I agree with you about Fried or Crochet. Honestly, if I had my choice of Burnes or Fried AND Crochet, I'd take the two lefties. Imagine those two with Eflin and Rodriguez

As the second half played out, resigning Santander looked more and more necessary. Burns didn't come off as someone who thought he was coming back, and after losing 1-0, it seems less likely he'll want to

Great analysis today. I’ve been wondering if the hitting approach was defined from on high or if the hitting coaches were making that decision. I dislike the approach and get hives whenever I hear the word “aggressive “ but if changing the coaches won’t change approach then the only reason to change is if the teaching is the problem.

Liking Profar for OF if we don't resign Tony. He's a switch hitter with 80 playoff at bats (.265 playoff average). Hit .300 against LHP in 2024. Still productive against RHP .268 and would platoon perfectly with Heston.

To me, Burnes must be resigned but you can let Santander walk. We can find production from RF without him. Personally think Mayo is the ideal RF'er of the future with that massive arm of his. Furthermore, the impact individual coaches make is far more than you seem to realize. They arent simply yes men for the front office. We don't "know what works" because nothing has really worked to this point. We are an above average baseball team, that's the goal?

The hitting was VERY bad. Whatever the philosophy was didn't work. I think the other analytical departments caught on to the orioles approach, and we didn't adjust to their adjustment.

I want Sonny Gray and Ryan Helsely... Bautista Helsely would be lock down. And Gray is still underrated. It wouldn't take a ton. Helsely only has 1 yr left and Gray has 2.

Come on Conner, the failure is batting, pure and simple. We need a new battle coach, because all second half the battle coaches till let everyone swing at anything. There is no hitting discipline that I see, except in a few individuals. We need someone that can get their eyes seeing balls and strikes more quickly and do simple things like effectively bunt and slash a hit to the opposite field for a single.

I do think owner will open the checkbook I think for once Orioles will be very active in free agency. I wish Orioles would fire both hitting coaches no need for 2 hitting coaches I think Orioles as an organization need to show that heads will roll if you don’t produce when it counts. October only matters and this team needs to be more selective and have more discipline in the playoffs next year. I think orioles fans will be very happy the team we will have for 2025 people forget we have Means, Bradish and Rodriguez and closer Bautista coming back too this pitching staff even if we lose Burns has potential to be better in 2025. I’d rather have Santander back over Burns if I had to choose

Let Burnes move on that kinda of money and years for a SP is ridiculous. Look into more affordable Starting Pitchers......Evoldi,Sean Manaea, Michael Wacha, Kikuchi, Zack Littell (trade), Lance Lynn or Kyle Gibson 1 yr deal only on either one of them. Keep Santander if he would sign a 2 yr $40 million otherwise let him walk. Keep O'Hearn good value for the money and a low k rate hitter....Try to trade for Helsley (Closer).. Arraez (hits for high average)..Yandy Diaz (low k rate hitter and no I don't care if you have other first baseman's).

Nothing happening until Elias and Hyde are replaced. They did great with rebuilding the team but they don’t know how to go for a World Series. Elias’ comment the other day said it all he wants “a better outcome than what we just had” not even thinking about a World Series which should be the goal after tanking and making the fans sit through 52 and 54 win seasons
