Mullins walk off against the yankees
We should have been in on Buehler. Can’t believe we let the red sox outbid for a one year deal.
Without a doubt Jackson Holidays first homerun so excited for him!
THANK YOU for bringing up the elephant of Baltimore's perception as a deciding factor for FAs. I have worked as a journalist in the past and the sports reporters I knew all told me that a lot of white players don't want to move to Baltimore. It's sad, but is a reality that we need to discuss.
Favorite moment was the Anthony Santander’s grand slam
Look this was really not all that surprising given he lives there and what better team to play for than to be close to home base and get to enjoy the new additions to his family even more. O’s can now be aggressive in resigning their young position players. Yes a front line pitcher is import and but so is half dozen young studs.
Yay
Untouchable Young Players: Rutschman Mayo Holiday Henderson Westburg Cowser Kjerstad Bradfield Jr. Honeycutt Rodriguez Povich Bautista Basallo
Send in the proctologist to fix the thumbs of the front office!
Favorite moment has got to be the Mullins walk off double against the Yankees. I mean, defensive errors galore and good base running ❤.
Who do we need to include in a trade to get Dylan Cease? Let me start with a package that might work, but I don't think its good for the O's: Mayo, Moncastle and Povich. Please substitute other names that could work. Same also to trade for the Mariners' Castillo.
The Sunday game in Cleveland when 0's scored 9 runs!. I missed Gunnar's 1st ever game the year before. This was sweet because I hardly ever see BLT win against Guardians/Indians 😊
My favorite Orioles memory from 2024 was the win against the Braves on June 13. Was there and the atmosphere was electric.
My favorite Oriole moment of 2024 was Anthony Santander`s walkoff Grand Slam!
Very disturbing that we did not get Burnes. We are not better than last year and we got eliminated in the first round of the play-offs. Connor i love your podcast, but you have got to quit drinking the Koolaid., not getting Burnes is a major setback. I thought Burnes was going to get more money.
I’m curious as a mariners fan what the orioles would give up for Castillo. Are Kjerstad and Mayo untouchable for Luis? Ideally I’d like one of those two plus some combination of Mountcastle/O’Hearn/Urias or possibly a backend starter.
I doubt Elias would include Kjerstad or Mayo in a trade for Castillo. Gilbert or Miller? Absolutely.
This is ground control to Major Mike.Your free agency pitching market is dead.Your feeling effects of Dodger blue and liftoff isn't working for you.Can you here me Major Mike?
Your uneducated comments about right leaning baseball fans and players need to stop. You need to be replaced by someone who views everyone equally. Claiming white baseball players don't want to come here based on the media they watch is appalling.
My favorite moment of the season was when we got the new owner that was willing to spend lots of money to compliment the stars we already have that we built from within. And then watching our GM do exactly the opposite of what he was told to do
6 yrs good luck with that Arz.
Need to call the Pirates and get Mitch Keller and Mike Burrows for Heston and Westburg.
Will Kyle Braddish get his number 39 back?
As far as I'm concerned The Orioles finally did have their ace. And as usual once again new ownership same old story. Not willing to spend the money on a big contract for a proven ace. The fact that we do not have one now. They should have given him whatever the hell he asked for and got him locked in for at least four or five seasons this is exactly why they will never compete for a world series. I'm starting to question michaels judgment. Building from the ground up he was great. But sometimes you got to spend big money and they're still not willing to do that. I get the whole Chris Davis thing. But Corbin Burns is not Chris Davis. Let's just be grateful that he went to the national League and not the AL East. So we've lost a slugger who hit 44 home runs last season and now we lost our ace. Looks like we've replaced Anthony with a guy who can't stay healthy. He is a great player when he's healthy Tyler which isn't often. I think it might be time to move on from Michael. You see the teams that win world series are willing to spend money on big contracts. If you're not willing to spend the money you won't win it's that simple this is not rocket science. Now we have an owner who is willing to spend the money and a front office who's more worried about sticking to their game plan then they are winning That's how it looks. They have squandered so many opportunities over the years. You're still a young man You haven't suffered decades of losing like a lot of us have. So I don't expect you to understand. Maybe you'll be as fired up as us older folks in a couple more decades if this continues.
The owner david is willing to spend big but the person we need to blame is the general manager because he doesn't wanna spend money despite the owner gave him an ok to spend big this off season so I hope the owner david fires him hire a new gm that is gonna listen to the owner n spend big.
@mordezylberminc9134 I just said pretty much exactly the same thing above you a few hours ago Connor can spend this anyway he wants I don't watch him anymore because a couple of years ago I gave him some construction criticism and he acted like a child but I don't expect anything less from his generation. He was so angry he went as far as to make fun of the fact that I have tourette syndrome. Like the rest of his generation he can't take no for an answer or anyone disagree with him or they're automatically terrible people but don't know what they're talking about. Even though I've been watching this team since before he was born long before he was born. I agree The GM is ego is getting in the way of signing good players. He wants to continue to do what he did in Houston so he can get the credit for building a team from nothing. He already did that now you need to compliment the lineup with some big name players and now we haven't ordered this morning to do it but he's not. He fired immediately for somebody who is willing I'm not taking away from him what he did he did a great job building this team or rebuilding this team. But at this point his philosophies are not going to be good for us going forward The team is already rebuilt now we just need to add some star power. Connor is not a dumb guy he knows his stuff to a point. But he's not willing to speak the truth he covers for them. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see this is exactly what's going on. I don't know if he sees this too and just ignores it or if he just doesn't get it. The fact that they let an ace leave us when that's what we've been looking for and you're not going to do any better than Corbin Burns. They should have offered him whatever the hell he wanted for however long he wanted. And they let Anthony Santander slip away That's 44 home runs out of your damn lineup and you replaced him with a guy who's always injured Tyler O'Neill He's good but he's healthy but he's never healthy He's never played a full season of baseball. And on top of all of that they still haven't signed our young players to big contracts or extended their contracts. I mean if you're not going to buy outside the least you could do is at least extend the players that you have. So now they're not going outside to get any talent and they're not keeping the talent they have. And the fans are supposed to not notice and not question this
The O’s were discussing a franchise record contract with Burnes according to Bob Nightengale. He just wanted to be in Arizona with his family.
I'm really curious about what O's offered to Burnes. Heck do we know for sure if they made a serious offer to keep him around?? A 6-year/$210M deal for Burnes is certainly not outrageous. In fact It's very reasonable and I like it better than the 8-year/$218M deal that Max Fried signed with Yanks which to me is borderline outrageous.
Our front office is impotent.
What do the Orioles do? Tell Mike Elias to stop getting in the way
Very small post-game moment, but Cowser holding up the iPad with O’Hearn’s homer playing and O’Hearn breaking it down was fun
I had many favorite Orioles moments, but I think the one I liked the most from a team perspective was the game against the Yankees just before the All-Star break. It was an almost must-win and Ced walked it off with two outs when Verdugo misplayed the ball in left. We didn't win one in the playoffs, but this had a near playoff excitement. Instant classic! As far as getting someone to replace Burnes, to my mind it has to be Dyan Cease, no questions, and none of the typical foot dragging we get from the front office. Preferably, make it a blockbuster, by also bringing over three-time batting champ Luis Arraez (he's not a free agent until 2026). The O's shouldn't completely empty the farm, but see if some veterans can be added into the mix, someonelike Mateo, Mountcastle, Urias and a decent bullpen arm. As for Corbin, Orioles fans will miss him, but be grateful for the excellent season he had in 2024 and extend best wishes for him at his new gig and appreciation that he didn't sign with an AL East team.
My favorite moment was seeing Cedric Mullins make a game saving catch deep in center, late July against the Padres. I was there in person with my son and my brother.
Looks like the report about Elias was right. It's time for him to be fired. The Os are worse than last year and there is no way for them to improve so by him refusing to spend money and do it his way and not be responsible. He has single handedly made the team a 3rd place team AT best
Theo's last big move will probably beat a re-signed Kyle Gibson😅
6 years for 210 was VERY doable for us.. I don’t know how “active” we’re actually being in these pursuits..
Were you not listening???? Dude wanted to be in Arizona more than anything…
@SwirvinIirvin That’s my read on this too, dude. If it had been one of the west coast teams, I would have thought the Orioles dropped the ball. Given he signed in AZ though, I don’t think there was really any other team that was playing for better than runner-up in his mind.
30:24 what stuff with Flaherty happened? Do you just mean mediocre performance and the fans getting on his back a bit? Or was there some locker room/off-field drama as well?
There was locker room drama with him and the coaches
@@xavierrobertson2871 oh damn, any idea of the details just out of curiosity?
@@bigtimeniko apparently the pitching coaches tried to offer him advice and he didn’t take well to that…
My favorite moment was McCann going Rocky!
My favorite moment was seeing James McCann gut it out in heroic fashion with a broken nose - catching the doubleheader game. It was must watch tv!
Im getting so tired of the rhetoric from the fanbase this off-season. I can understand being disappointed but its getting annoying how negative folks are being. This team will be good next year, with the potential to be great. Not every team can say that.
Your wrong the team is NOW worse than last year with all the subtractions and no additions of any great improvement. Last year finished second this year third IF lucky
We lost our ace...lost Satander. Added an offer injured OF in O'Neill & a 35 year old Japanese SP. There's no argument to be made that today we are better. Best case scenario is that we are about the same if all our young players take leaps of improvement...which is certainly possible. And hopefully Braddish can return late in the season to give the pitching a boost. Same with Bautista. Hopefully he's close to his best. But losing 190 of good to very good innings makes the team worse. No question.
This is Cope and delusional
Worst take of the day goes to……..
Agreed! This team is an 85 win team. Will not make the playoffs. They’d better extend Rutschman and Gunnar. I have no good use for Elias and Rubenstein.
Being “in” and 2 bucks will buy a candy bar.
Don't even trade for Cease or Framber because we will be in this same boat next year and won't keep them. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Just trade Gunnar and Adley already, we already know you'll be too cheap to keep them. Over with them being satisfied with being relevant and not wanting to legitimately try. Oh but they damn sure woll raise ticket prices.
Any fans who think Gunner will be an oriole long team you now see how this organization operates. They are not committed to giving out long term contracts so Gunner will get traded in his last year before becoming a free agent and Elias can stockpile more draft picks.
Sign pivetta and gibson and sign a reliver
Sign any SP on that list for 1 yr no more then 16 millon. Sign like 4 of them see what sticksm
We will sell are tickets for spring training and season. If no playoffs
Well at least Elias can schedule a press conference and tell us he got a draft pick for losing Burnes lol. Same old Orioles.
my favorite moments of the year were: being in the park to see both the kjerstad and santander grand slams and also watching jackson’s grand slam and watching us beat the yankees 17-5
8 years 300 million may have done it. That would be an overpay.
So much for the knew ownership spending money
How do you know for sure this was about ownership now willing to spend money? Maybe the failure is on Elias.
@@geneoneyhow do you know it was?
3rd best AL East team. 84 wins is about the team’s ceiling. Lift off incoming!
NASA is hiring.
No moves necessary! Rogers and Povich will be great! Lift off incoming!
No evidence of that happening. Which means your living in a fantasy world
@ I guess my sarcasm went over your head.
You are really not going to compare Rogers to Burnes lol at best Rogers is a 5th starter and the orioles have enough of them. They need a top of the rotation starter.
NASA is hiring.
Sign Tony Tators screw it.....cowser take over in CF mullins 4th OF. Trade Kerjsted. Oneil in left Santandar in right keep Mounty
No do not trade Kjerstad
I’m really hoping the O’s can snag Cease! Been listening all year and have been loving every episode! My favorite moment was the very first game of the 2024 season. Granted the angles weren’t very good, but to start the season off dominant like that was exciting!
Sure, a great move go and get Cease for a 1-year rental and give up more top prospects No time for this team to make a serious commitment to a top of the rotation starter.
@@geneoneyHow do we possibly matchup with Coke , Fried , and Rodon with 2 of our best starters coming off serious injuries . We have a couple prospects who will get very few at bats because they are blocked . Getting Cease is a must to get farther in the playoffs .
