A light sided Sith Warrior offers a very interesting view of the Sith. A warrior who kills and will violently defend the empire, but never kills when unnecessary and shows mercy when needed.
I just found the light side sith lame I chose the more neutral choices and went if not that then dark side. My sith warrior was more of character that unleashed even the most little of dark side in others or manipulated other npc's and for me that was the more fun way cause that is they way I would go if I was a sith (+ I love my sort of silver colored light Saber he has he is like a gray sith)
I want to do that but it feels weird cuz how can anyone pretend to be a moral person while fighting for a completely and unabashedly corrupt and sadistic empire
I'm in Ch 3 of the Inquisitor storyline, and so far I'm wondering just where I'm headed. Darth Thanaton is a Dark Council member, right? So if you expose him and kill him in front of the Council, wouldn't you get his spot?
true, i thought consular, smuggler and warrior stories sucked so imperials are a bit better. Still, beyond the story i never end up using mu imp characters
Reason? The Jedi Knight story is a lot about exaggerated praise to the player at all times, and their role in the story is their unexplained, prophecized power in the Force. It's empowering and appealing to a wide demographic. Meanwhile, the poor Consular is the unsung hero. The story requires more patience, self-control and foresight from the player, which FITS the Jedi roleplay more, but is not as immediately gratifying or empowering as the Jedi Knight storyline. Which is why I LOATHE the JK story, and am absolutely in love with the JC story. You're a spiritual healer, a diplomat, you unite people with words and acts of compassion, you spread teachings of patience and tolerance... But screw that, apparently. "I wanna be the one who kills the Emperor one-on-one even though Luke fucking Skywalker himself didn't kill HIS Emperor alone". Seriously, fuck that story...
+WarmageRagnar This guys gets it! Here have a cookie! While I dont like the story, I like the idea behind it (the characters just simply annoys me, only Theran is bearable for me!)
Warmage Ragnar so it was quite satisfying to see that the JK never actually fought the Emperor. Fuck the Jedi Knight story. Fell asleep while playing it.
If you want to play a jedi and want to have the title of 'master', do not put it in your name on character creation. You gain the title as your class story progresses. Same goes for the sith and their 'darth' title. Its just a little detail that I see newbies miss every now and then
Yeah, but they can just slap a Security Key on their account and they're good to go. Also, every starter planet gives them 20 CC, so that's 160 in total. The Title and Legacy surname unlocks are pretty cheap
Returning player here. My first and last character was an Imperial agent and I can confirm that the storyline is very good. My only regret are the light and dark side markers alongside the answers. A veteran player once said on the forums "better ignore the markers. I chose the decisions the character I played the role of would deem right"
I would also point out that if you hate how the choice played out you can always hit escape and see how the other options play out. Sometimes I interpret the title of the dialog much differently than how it actually plays out after choosing the option.
Yeah some of the "dark" choices are total bullshit. Trooper story has an option where you can give aid to wounded troopers or refugees. Refugees getting aid is light side. Fellow Troopers getting aid is dark side. Makes no sense.
@DATMemeboi consular's and inquisitors are false tanks. Nothing that wears light armor only is a true tank. They're good for being a secondary or off tank, not "best" tank.
I find chapter 1 really boring but really enjoyed chapter 2 onward. Jedi Knight is basically Anakin, you're a hero and the people love you and the military loves you, saving the world doing crazy shit, while your heroics not really making you as popular within the jedi order. Consular is more Obi-wan more political, and diplomacy, more like what a true jedi is supposed to be like, so if you're into that it's very fun imo. Plus the consular has the best Master/apprentice dynamic that none of the other force classes have sadly. You actually get to feel like you're training a padawan and guiding her.
In my opinion, every class story is fun in its own way. I started out with the Jedi Knight story and loved it to bits (despite many people calling it a "generic good guy story"). I then went on to complete the Bounty hunter story which was an equally enjoyable yet different experience. I also went on to beat the Smuggler and Sith Warrior stories which were both a blast, and am currently working on the Sith Inquisitor, Jedi Consular, and Imperial Agent stories. All in all, I can honestly say that I haven't been disappointed by ANY of the class stories in SWTOR, and I personally think it's silly for people to argue over which is the best considering that it's all based on perception.
I play this game for years now and I follow the unpopular opinion: that jedi consular is one of my favs. Idk, it has something that makes it special to me :p (it shares nr 1 with sith inquisitor) but i really love all classes even tho so many years and alts passed. xD
Did the same, played jedi guardian (which i loved) first and then Bounty Hunter which i also love. ( when i see him in the character selection menu with the Mandalorian tracker's armour i have the biggest smile and have to stop myself squealing.
Hmm I had the opposite experience, it felt like oh I'm going to planets a,b,c,d to get with artifacts. What do they do? Who knows. Backstab! Counterstab! The end
UPDATES FOR 5.0 (Which class should I choose?) Knights of the Eternal Throne * If you're starting a new character at level 1, pick whatever you want! * If you're starting a new level 60 or 65 token to do KOTFE or KOTET, I suggest to pick a Force-sensitive class (Sith or Jedi), as their classes make the most sense with the story! The Jedi Knight is considered the 'canon' class for Knights of the Eternal Throne, if you want the best one for the story the developers chose the Jedi Knight to show in all the trailers!
Are the stories same for each side during KOTFE and KOTET? I've been playing my sentinel thru KOTFE and starting to feel like im not the biggest fan of the class, especially endgame wise. I do have a heavy lightside focus juggernaut @ level 60 on imp side but is it worth just finishing the story as sentinel or making a guardian to go thru it even extra canon, aka being lightside instead of the full dark rebel im with my sentinel?
Yes, the story for KOTFE and KOTET is mostly the same for every class with some Nods here and there and some extra dialogue on certain chapters depending on the Class. But the overall story is the same.
From my personal experience, its all down to how you put yourself in the lore of Star Wars, for example I made my self a Bounty Hunter Power Tech keeping in tradition with the Mandalorian Crusaders, as melee combat was the most honorable form of battle & its always nice to speak the multiverse language "punchin" because noting is more fun the a Bes'kar fist in you opponents face & getting paid to do it, for the Republic Trooper Commando is what I went with to try & empathize with ARC Troopers & generally the other clones, in particular Delta Squad in the Grand Army of the Republic, honor, duty & loyalty to democracy plus there it nothing more cool then Rambo firing a machine gun, for the Smuggler Gunslinger, Han Solo & Jesse James guns blazing seducer with a fast ride, the wits, the skills & the charm to take on the galaxy with a bit of Indiana Jones mixed in & hey who does not love getting rich on the side, for these 3 I made the use of choosing a Zabrak, Cathar or Rattataki, as they are pretty gear up both mentally & psychically for the fights, Sadley since I have not gotten a full account I hae not played the following, Jedi Knight Sentinel its more a take on of Anakin Skywalker & Obi-Wan Kenobi, wise, cunning & calculating with his race being Mirialan, a bit bold, hot headed & brash, Jedi Counselor Jedi Shadow as I felt there dueling skills would be something akin toe Master Yoda, strong in the Force & just as deadly with a saber if not even more so when the race is Miraluka they see more the other people will ever , for the Sith Warrior Juggernaut easily my favorite as Darth Vader is my childhood hero, no matter who say other wise & pray I never find that person wanting, I get to "crush" me enemies, there is nothing more satisfying then that, well there might be the Sith Inquisitor Sorcerer, spam lighting like crazy & turn my enemies to ashe! Not a fan of Palpatine mind you but more of Darth Bane, with the Imperial Agent Sniper, "one shot on kill", plus I do like the whole Space James Bod/Jack Bower.
In my personal order: Sith Warrior has the most tie-ins with the characters in KotFE due to their storyline Jedi Knight has a moderate amount of tie-in, but not as close as the Sith Warrior despite being the 'canon' class in most trailers. Sith Inquisitor and Jedi Consular have the least amount of tie-ins but are none the less interesting to explore considering their remarkable connection to the Force.
Yeah...non force classes make no sense in the new storyline. Hope they release a separate expansion for them. I really like my scoundrel but Im not gonna save the galaxy by punching the emperor's kids in the face!
I liked JC's story, maybe because it was about healing and diplomacy instead of killing everything like a sociopath or killing every sociopath walking around.
sith inquisitor light side is my fav, something so satisfying about about rising from being a slave to someone who threatens the very foundation of what the sith are
Bounty Hunter was always my favorite, but I've always been a fan of Mandalorians. Trooper is second only because I come from a military family and it kinda fit.
If you're in it for the long run, I suggest doing republic first, then empire. The Imperial Faction feels more rewarding when you get to it because it feels more unexpected and surprising. If you know Star Wars before playing swtor, the Republic faction is not that surprising and therefore less rewarding if played later IMO.
@DevilTrigger Now I can hear this in my head. "Nuance this!" while force choking hahahaha. But true, empire class is much more interesting probably bec it hasn't been told from villains perspective yet in movies,.. + Jedi classes is: just go take them down. But sith classes are with manipulation, deaths, climbing up the social ladder.
@Son Gohan True. Both factions killed innocents for the greater good (even in old republic) I like to use the trooper as example where general garza asked him to kill innocents just to be sure. Both factions aren't truly good or bad, you have light sides sith who have a sense of loyalty too. And you have jedi who is in touch with the dark side.
I feel like this is oversimplifying the republic side. Like, as a consular, you're exploring ancient secrets-ancient to someone considered ancient by the movies. As a trooper, you're working to rebuild a republic that has gone through the biggest fall from grace ever, at least until palpatine's coup. It's a pov you don't get in the movies, or in the clone wars, or in most of the eu. The other 2 classes really are just anakin skywalker and han solo rebrands but still, even just lore wise swtor's plot it very unique
My favorite story was the Inquisitor/Assassin.I loved how if you're an alien every hates on you until you come back to korriban, they humble themselves to you.Hilarious.
*The Jedi Consular is the typical Jedi story* Jedi Consular: Gets named as the Supreme Defender of the Republic, the Barsen'thor, a title which has only ever been given to two other people
@@Swtorista omg, I didn't mean to make it sound like hate, I truly love your channel it's just that I hadn't played the other stories yet so the Jedi Consular looked like the best, I'm sorry if it sounded like anything else
This is true. Consular is easily one of three most powerful classes as represented IC, likely rivalling the Jedi Knight. The Consular demonstrates abilities as a fresh knight that rival those of a grandmaster like Yoda.
My opinion: 1. Imperial Agent (objectively the best, the writing quality is as good if not better than most mainstream productions) 2. Sith Inquisitor (My personal favourite. Is both a political thriller and a Star Wars story, but from the "other side") 3. Sith Warrior (A great story for those who want to roleplay either a bloodthirsty monster OR a valiant warrior with a code of honor) 4. Bounty Hunter (The kind of story that Star Wars 1313 might have been, it surprised me by keeping my interest the ENTIRE time, and making me emotionally engaged) 5. Jedi Knight (Classic Star Wars) 6. Jedi Consular (Political thriller and diplomat roleplay) 7. Smuggler (Han Solo roleplay, this rating is purely subjective, as I'm not a big fan of Han Solo-type stories) 8. Trooper (Boring and inaccurate/unimmersive. Just ask anyone who was in the military and has played through the Trooper story. Most of the superior officers would have been discharged as Colonels, and all of the DS options would likely had lead to a court marshal on their own, let alone an entire career of them)
The Sith Sorcerer is my favorite, hands down. Lightning is the best, and the story is amazing. My main for a long time was the Bounty Hunter, which makes for a great tank, but for sheer enjoyment the Sorcerer has it beat.
I started the game not to long ago but I have finished a LS Sith Warrior, LS Imperial Agent, DS Jedi Knight, and I’m playing a Trooper that is sort of a dirty cop who has a complex set of principles (Just finished Chapter 1). I loved them all but my favorite story would be the DS Jedi Knight because it gets the traditional good guy story and gives it a dark twist by playing DS and it works even better if you play KOTFE & KOTET completely DS too. My favorite character (Not story but more or less character) is my LS Sith Warrior because she will give you a new take on the Sith as a Warrior who wants to change her order to be more merciful, compassionate, and reach for peace but not ignore emotions and become extremely contradicting like the Jedi order. The class that gives you the hest DS/LS choices and has the best effect on the story would be the Imperial Agent since there is like seven endings to the story and you can feel truly evil or very merciful, or something in between while having very good love interests for each side (DS is Kaliyo, LS is Raina, and Grey is Watcher two she might be a bit more LS than DS though). I can’t say much for the Trooper as I have only finished Chapter 1 but enjoyed it very much but I hear it gets pretty bad after that:(...?
When I first started this game, i was so in Love with the Powertech. I tried everything else out and now i am back to my roots, enjoying the Advanced Protype PowerTech. If you guys like the Mandalorian Fight-Style or even Iron Man, this is your Class.
Personally, i like sith assassin. It really emphasizes the silent killer motif, turning invisible, sneaking behind enemies, then literally stabbing them in the back, so epic. And infusing lightning in your saber? That is beautiful. And on top of that, with phantom stride, you literally move so fast, appearing in front of your enemy in the blink of an eye. And the storyline, goodness gracious, i could write a novel to how much i'm invested into the storyline. Exploring the galaxy, searching treasures and artifacts, cutting enemies down to size, and making the jedi order and the republic dance in the palm of my hand. And the best part, putting thanaton in his place. And also, how can i not talk about the worderful ensemble of companions you have join you on your adventure? You have Khem Val, a savage juggernaut with an appetite for force users, Adronikas the badass ex-pirate who loves to put blaster holes into any living thing that gets on his bad side, Ashara Zavros, the prideful togruta apprentice with a surprisingly relatable case of identity crisis between jedi and sith, along with an interesting world view that i dont see in many jedi (personally she may be my favorite, and the fact that she reminds me of ashoka tano from the clone wars makes me like her more), Talos Drellik, the enthusiastc imperial agent with a knack for relics and artifacts and a passion for history, Xalex, the silent but deadly underdog with a "gives zero f*cks" approach to getting shet done, and HK-51, the wisecracking assassin droid with amazing dialogue to boot. I look forward to see what the the other storylines have to offer. Though i still need to get to the SoR, KOTFE and KOTET storylines first.
Personally I really like the smuggler class. I like the freedom to make each moral choice as I see fit without having to worry about the play style of my character. I also just love the fun more relaxed feel to the story. I would like to try bounty hunter though as I picture myself as a Star Wars character to be a mercenary.
My favorite class is the Jedi Counselor mainly Shadow. I’m not big on fighting but if an enemy spots me I have no problem taking them out. And I prefer diplomacy rather than fighting so it’s perfect for me. I do like the other classes and I have multiple of each since some are all the way leveled up and some I’m just starting.
Bounty hunter is probably my favorite. The second I found out I could become a Mandalorian I went for it immediately. I found later on that I really like how it plays and the actions I can take.
I like the new talent trees that let you be a dps with any class. I wanted to focus on single saber combat like most Jedi in the lore so I chose Jedi Guardian in the Vigilance spec.
I am so glad to see someone making these videos. While in collage for web development I actually created a website for a SWTOR Academy guild designed to teach people how to play the game with hands on instruction from players who have mastered their class. Sadly I have no way of making this Academy guild a reality.
I love the Plasmatech Vanguard and Pyrotech Bounty Hunter. There's just something so satisfying about cooking an enemy with incendiary weapons and flamethrowers lol
Inquisitor and Agent are my favorites! They are really the most interesting for me, although for now I didn't move with my Trooper and Smuggler further than Coruscant, so maybe those storylines will also be quite good too
I have to say I like how you give great information that is spot on. As some one who has played all classes for 5 years I would like to say the classes I like have changed over the years because . But the most important thing for some one who is making a character for ops or fps, you really want to play all of the classes to really get a feel for the different play stiles that are in the game. There is a very noticeable feel to each class. And looks may be why you make a character, but the style you like is what will keep you playing the character.
"Close range?" (Sorry, I've been forever corrupted) On a serious note: That was a lot of info, but I'll probably give a try to the Imperial Agent or Jedi Sentinel. Thank you!
I found my people... I mean, lets get real for a min not talking about the same Class Class Class I have as my main but lets talk about real life. YOU CAN USE LIGHTING TO POWER YOUR HOME, YOUR PHONE, YOUR LIGHTS! ANYTHING YOU WANT!!!! Lightning is love, Lightning is life.
Nice beginners break down for those just coming into the game. I think it's a really good idea to try out all the classes too, maybe not to completion but at least get a flavor for them. For story line, The Imperial Agent is my hands down favorite of all. For over all utility on ranged classes I do love the Bounty Hunter. Each class has it's own endearing qualities whether for OPS, PvP, RP or just personal casual enjoyment. On the Republic side, the Trooper story never got real fun for me until I hit Corellia. After that, they kind of bloomed. I never was able to get into the Consular story and have yet to finish it all the way through. Just things I've noticed over the years. Thanks for another entertaining and informative show!
Meanwhile, after coming back after a few years I can easily say that I prefer Melee over ranged. Started out as a sniper- prefer to be an Operative. My Juggernaut is my new main- it feels good to take on small armies without any fear. Personally, I still haven't finished the Smuggler. I guess that the Agent just had more flare through intrigue which I loved but the Smuggler legit bores me to tears-- but I need that Legendary status, dammit! But yeah. Def prefer Melee- most of the ranged classes just don't have the flare that I enjoy. Playing through my third Sith Warrior, and currently loving my Jedi Knight, Taldrix (having freaking Laura Bailey as my Apprentice is a huge bonus. Love her voice acting!)
Best story IMO: 1. Imperial Agent 2. Sith Warrior 3. Bounty Hunter & Smuggler (super enjoyable if you play them as a "comic relief" character) 4. Jedi 5. Sith Inquisitor 6. Trooper (Some of the dialogue is solid, pretty genuine military stuff. Other is robotic "for the republic" drivel) 7. Jedi Consular
This game looks so great I hope they make it into a console version one day I just like old republic era anything that isn't empire and rebels era and first order era
I started playing again, this time as a ranged sith class i think (sorry iam a newbie who played a long time ago). The best thing about this game it really is the story... It's is just awesome and amazing experience... I found your youtube channel and i love it.. thank you for your work!!
I played all of them... And honestly Sith Warrior is the best. It shows how powerful the dark side is. Also it has alot of surprising moments and alot of great choices.
Actually, the jedi consular storyline was pretty intriguing. I love it really much. It has more depth than some random hack and slash through all the problems kind of a story.
Thanks Swtorista! Am brand spanking new to swtor (been meaning to play for years!). Your videos are fun to watch and informative without ruining content; quite the contrary - boosts enjoyment. Learning so much. Am a consular (macro instead of micro - let the footsoldiers deal with little things). Only thing I wish for consular is for a Padawan. Read somewhere that there will be one but am still on chapter 1. Anyway, thanks again and well wishes.
Actually for each classes the story can be very different just depending on the light/dark side path you would pick because the darkside story for my sage was badass.
That's true! It won't have a huge effect on the ongoing story (you won't get a whole different storyline with light or dark) but it CAN make specific scenes/end points REALLY cool!
Swtorista Well when i finished the game with my sentinel light side i was given the title of being a Jedi master but for my guardian dark side i was shunned down and made into a general story wise.
I wish any of the Jedi/Sith classes could use any of the lightsaber classes. I would love Jedi Knight skilles with a Double bladed lightsaber or a sith assassin who uses two or one regulated lightsaber
My favorite class is the Smuggler. It imo has the best two romances in the game (Risha & Aakavi), the best dialogue, very good voice actors for both genders, the best ending in the game (DS), and is the only class where I can play DS and LS choices in without it seeming for ed or ooc, I tend to be forced into making DS like choices and dialogue with my LS Sith Inquisitor because it limits me. I am the biggest One Piece fan so I love pirates and if you like One Piece or Pirates then I would definitely try the Smuggler. Another fun thing I did was play the expansions with the Smuggler, it was so whacky and out of place that it was actually funny and good. It’s like a crack fic that takes itself way to seriously but it’s funny and enjoyable because of that. Imagine your Smuggler dethroning Valkorian with a blaster while using one of his sarcastic jokes on him.
DevilTrigger I played a fully LS Agent as my first class ever! They are very different storys but imo if not the Smuggler, the Agent is the best class. There is like seven endings to the Agent but the Smuggler only has three. Out of all classes, The Agent is the best on Makeb I will say. To answer your question, it does compare with the Agent. Imo, the Smuggler is slightly better and you should definitely give ir a chance. I highly advise you don’t commit to fully LS or DS choices with the Smuggler though.
Personally I enjoyed the counselor story line (first one I finished) If you are more into the diplomacy and recruiting worlds to fight for the republic. This is a class I would recommend.
I just recently started playing this mmo and I'm loving it. The character I am currently playing is a commando trooper and I am really enjoying its story.
I've always been a Melee Tank type of player in RPGs. Jedi Defense Guardians and Sith Immortal Juggernauts are my forte. But like I said earlier, I do find Pyrotech BHs and Plasmatech Vanguards just fun to play as when I don't feel like Tanking or Healing.
My personal favorite is the bounty hunter specifically a powertech pyrotech bounty hunter, you get to set absolutely everything on fire combine that with my favorite class quests and you've got a match made by mandalore.
I found it was most fun to play a jedi guardian dps and sith juggernaut dps. For me it was the easiest and most enjoyable way and I was always liked in group content. My dps was very good, almost as good as sentinels/marauders, and with the higher armor plus a few tanking skills I did not need healing that often than the sentinels/marauders did. Shien form was the way to go for me and I quite often found myself being "the Anakin Skywalker" of SWTOR when I played.
The consular story is not that bad, it's just different. The traditional Jedi badass experience was already covered with the knight, so they experimented with the consular. Some things worked, others didn't.
The Bounty hunters, Smugglers, I Agents, and the troopers kinda mirror each other. The bounty hunter mirrors the trooper in style of classes, while it mirrors the smuggler with it really being neutral (In a sense) with it not really being a big part of either sides, and both wield blasters. It really comes down on what you want. Try playing a few (You can make more than one, but your limited to how many characters you have active.)
I tried balancing out my 4 current free-to-play characters, 2 for each side of the force, one for every class. So I have a Sith Marauder, Jedi Shadow, Imperial Sniper, Vanguard Trooper...thus far I love them all
Recently came back to the game and decided to start fresh on a new server, and created a Consular as my first character on that server... I agree with the assessment of its story :P. The first class story I every played the whole way through was the Imperial agent, and in comparison to that, it really doesn't hold up.
i main a jedi consular cause i like the "Regular Jedi" sort of story over becoming another OP hero saving the galaxy. Plus they have double edged lightsabers, which are my favorite type of saber. ;)
A light sided Sith Warrior offers a very interesting view of the Sith.
A warrior who kills and will violently defend the empire, but never kills when unnecessary and shows mercy when needed.
That's how I went with mine. A Sith Warrior with a code of honor
EdgeOf1996 god my dick is awesome
Its totaly opposite of the Dark Side philosophy, though. He'd end up weak af, as neither fueling Light nor Dark side.
I want to do that but it feels weird cuz how can anyone pretend to be a moral person while fighting for a completely and unabashedly corrupt and sadistic empire
In general I find the imperial storylines to be much catchier.
I'm in Ch 3 of the Inquisitor storyline, and so far I'm wondering just where I'm headed. Darth Thanaton is a Dark Council member, right? So if you expose him and kill him in front of the Council, wouldn't you get his spot?
Christian Plante Yes, that´s true :.)
You pretty much said the end of the story lmao
I guess the ending is just that predictable. Doesn't mean it won't be awesome~
true, i thought consular, smuggler and warrior stories sucked so imperials are a bit better. Still, beyond the story i never end up using mu imp characters
Average SWTOR Player: "Anakin! The Jedi Consular story is evil!"

LOL!!! Exactly!

+Patanegn Great tip! Same goes for Captain for a smuggler, or any trooper rank.
Swtorista Right, forgot those! :X
+Patanegn Jedi Consular in particular gets it really soon.
Btw f2p and prefered players that don't have the unlock can do that since they won't be able to use the title.
Yeah, but they can just slap a Security Key on their account and they're good to go. Also, every starter planet gives them 20 CC, so that's 160 in total. The Title and Legacy surname unlocks are pretty cheap

Yeah some of the "dark" choices are total bullshit. Trooper story has an option where you can give aid to wounded troopers or refugees. Refugees getting aid is light side. Fellow Troopers getting aid is dark side.
Makes no sense.
I must be odd, I really loved the counsellor storyline. Was blown away actually.
Me too, I've got three consulars :)
@@Swtorista cease, you demons
Is the Jedi Shadow story any good? (no spoilers pls!) Was considering either that or a Jedi Sentinel...

Let's just say it we luv us some star wars.

Sith Inquisitor storyline is the best his story line shows what it truely means to be sith
"Silence Slave"!!!! ; ) that's honestly my favorite part about the Sith inquisitor, getting revenge on the bastard who calls you that every 4 seconds.
You and me pal, you and me.
*Ahem* (Prepare your ears for screaming)
I HATED THAT BITCH EVERY LITTLE SECOND I HAD TO EVEN SMELL HIM!
"truly means to be sith"? You mean "getting others to do most of the job and get credited for it"? It's not sith, it's politician.
@@TheShadowSentinel Sith, politician, same thing really!
Hmm I had the opposite experience, it felt like oh I'm going to planets a,b,c,d to get with artifacts. What do they do? Who knows. Backstab! Counterstab! The end
Personally I loved the consular story line, I loved the diplomacy and behind the scenes work rather than the forward "im the hero" stories
UPDATES FOR 5.0 (Which class should I choose?)
Knights of the Eternal Throne
* If you're starting a new character at level 1, pick whatever you want!
From my personal experience, its all down to how you put yourself in the lore of Star Wars, for example I made my self a Bounty Hunter Power Tech keeping in tradition with the Mandalorian Crusaders, as melee combat was the most honorable form of battle & its always nice to speak the multiverse language "punchin" because noting is more fun the a Bes'kar fist in you opponents face & getting paid to do it, for the Republic Trooper Commando is what I went with to try & empathize with ARC Troopers & generally the other clones, in particular Delta Squad in the Grand Army of the Republic, honor, duty & loyalty to democracy plus there it nothing more cool then Rambo firing a machine gun, for the Smuggler Gunslinger, Han Solo & Jesse James guns blazing seducer with a fast ride, the wits, the skills & the charm to take on the galaxy with a bit of Indiana Jones mixed in & hey who does not love getting rich on the side, for these 3 I made the use of choosing a Zabrak, Cathar or Rattataki, as they are pretty gear up both mentally & psychically for the fights, Sadley since I have not gotten a full account I hae not played the following,
Jedi Knight Sentinel its more a take on of Anakin Skywalker & Obi-Wan Kenobi, wise, cunning & calculating with his race being Mirialan, a bit bold, hot headed & brash, Jedi Counselor Jedi Shadow as I felt there dueling skills would be something akin toe Master Yoda, strong in the Force & just as deadly with a saber if not even more so when the race is Miraluka they see more the other people will ever , for the Sith Warrior Juggernaut easily my favorite as Darth Vader is my childhood hero, no matter who say other wise & pray I never find that person wanting, I get to "crush" me enemies, there is nothing more satisfying then that, well there might be the Sith Inquisitor Sorcerer, spam lighting like crazy & turn my enemies to ashe! Not a fan of Palpatine mind you but more of Darth Bane, with the Imperial Agent Sniper, "one shot on kill", plus I do like the whole Space James Bod/Jack Bower.
In my personal order:
Sith Warrior has the most tie-ins with the characters in KotFE due to their storyline
Jedi Knight has a moderate amount of tie-in, but not as close as the Sith Warrior despite being the 'canon' class in most trailers.
+Nazael Rahl I liked it a lot! I have 3 :D
And you do still take down a fair number of Sith and their plans.
sith inquisitor light side is my fav, something so satisfying about about rising from being a slave to someone who threatens the very foundation of what the sith are
Bounty Hunter was always my favorite, but I've always been a fan of Mandalorians.
Who tf doesn't know Star Wars before playing SWTOR?
@Son Gohan True. Both factions killed innocents for the greater good (even in old republic) I like to use the trooper as example where general garza asked him to kill innocents just to be sure.
Both factions aren't truly good or bad, you have light sides sith who have a sense of loyalty too. And you have jedi who is in touch with the dark side.
@@laklomp Just like Count Dooku, I believe he is a Light side sith.
"people have problems with melee classes" and here I am only enjoying my marauder ._.
Nice you are the outlier! 😁
My favorite story was the Inquisitor/Assassin.I loved how if you're an alien every hates on you until you come back to korriban, they humble themselves to you.Hilarious.
*The Jedi Consular is the typical Jedi story*
Jedi Consular: Gets named as the Supreme Defender of the Republic, the Barsen'thor, a title which has only ever been given to two other people
Hey, this is common opinion, personally I've got three consulars :P
@@Swtorista omg, I didn't mean to make it sound like hate, I truly love your channel it's just that I hadn't played the other stories yet so the Jedi Consular looked like the best, I'm sorry if it sounded like anything else
This is true. Consular is easily one of three most powerful classes as represented IC, likely rivalling the Jedi Knight. The Consular demonstrates abilities as a fresh knight that rival those of a grandmaster like Yoda.
Simp
@@liigahuhut8386 yep, i'm a simp alright
Inquisitor. Building your own Empire togheter with Marr
Another excellent episode.
My opinion:
1. Imperial Agent (objectively the best, the writing quality is as good if not better than most mainstream productions)
2. Sith Inquisitor (My personal favourite. Is both a political thriller and a Star Wars story, but from the "other side")
3. Sith Warrior (A great story for those who want to roleplay either a bloodthirsty monster OR a valiant warrior with a code of honor)
4. Bounty Hunter (The kind of story that Star Wars 1313 might have been, it surprised me by keeping my interest the ENTIRE time, and making me emotionally engaged)
5. Jedi Knight (Classic Star Wars)
6. Jedi Consular (Political thriller and diplomat roleplay)
7. Smuggler (Han Solo roleplay, this rating is purely subjective, as I'm not a big fan of Han Solo-type stories)
8. Trooper (Boring and inaccurate/unimmersive. Just ask anyone who was in the military and has played through the Trooper story. Most of the superior officers would have been discharged as Colonels, and all of the DS options would likely had lead to a court marshal on their own, let alone an entire career of them)
Imperial bias much...
I played this for a while. The mercenary was the bomb. Literally.
If you guys like the Mandalorian Fight-Style or even Iron Man, this is your Class.
watching all these trailers in your videos gives me feels for the early game!!! how i miss it!! well done :)
Indeed. I miss the good old days :D
RIP my first main character is a Jedi Counselar. Well I'm already 2/3 of the way might as well finish it.
If you enjoy it don't stop! It's personally one of my favourites I have three consulars :)
Swtorista Nice. I've dabbled in Sith Warrior and I liked it more but Consular isn't too bad. It's a long buildup to get to Lord Vivicar lol.
Why have 3 of the same class? Unless you want to explore the different advance classes it doesn't make sense.
I've had like 5 juggernauts, don't know exactly, I've deleted some, but I'm hooked on the playstyle and love the campaign and also love to be a sith.
@@KippariVille I've been making new characters just so I can play different species now that I'm subscribed.
I Love to fry my enemies with my Bounty hunter and Love the Mandalorian Style!
Yeah the bounty Hunter's voice it's so deep
I've really enjoyed the Inquisitor story so far. And I also love the abilities. When I'm finished with the Inquisitor I'll play Jedi Councilor.
Trooper storyline was my first, and I find myself continuously going back to it.
Lightside Sith Inquisitor was such an interesting experience, especially as far as your companions go
Personally, i like sith assassin.
I do like the other classes and I have multiple of each since some are all the way leveled up and some I’m just starting.
i am new to your channel, but I already love it. your great voice is only one reason
Secrus Krefeld.
secrus some adavaice are realy ok byt do not take all of it on good will.. just play it
dude. I am was new on channel, not in game. i play for 4 years now
Moron...
I find her voice to be annoying. Weird how that works.
+Jonathan Beard next best thing would be to join a guild that already exists and share your knowledge there! :)
I already do. I like to help as much as I can. I still remember what it's like to be a noob lol.
I love the Plasmatech Vanguard and Pyrotech Bounty Hunter. There's just something so satisfying about cooking an enemy with incendiary weapons and flamethrowers lol
Sith warrior or imp agent is my favourite
Sith Warrior/Juggernaut has always felt the most natural to me.
I like the consular story
It's shit... Those are 55 hours I will never get back...
I will agree that the prologue is crap and there are some dry spots but I like the MyStErY.
I also really liked it. I wished there was more with Yuon Paar than was seen but alas, that shall be headcanon.
Giuseppe Jackson imo, the Consular class is my favorite cuz i like healing. Yet the story...yeah...it sucks.
Thunder-Wing175 Inquisitor is way more fun, it's stupidly evil...
Inquisitor and Agent are my favorites! They are really the most interesting for me, although for now I didn't move with my Trooper and Smuggler further than Coruscant, so maybe those storylines will also be quite good too
I have a member of all 8 classes, and my assassin and Agent are my two favorites.
Thanks for the meticulous information! This is exactly what I was looking for :)
"Close range?" (Sorry, I've been forever corrupted)
On a serious note: That was a lot of info, but I'll probably give a try to the Imperial Agent or Jedi Sentinel.
Thank you!
I know this vid is old right now BUT I adore how this game has so many god damn story lines! Feels like multiple fully fledged games in one.
Me too! I think it's like 250+ hours if you just do the 8 classic stories.
My main character is a Sith Inquisitor (Sorcerer, Lightning)
Great story line, and a lot of lightning.... Everybody loves lightning... Lightning is better than hypnotoad......
Lightning is love. Lightning is life.
Same. UNLIMITED POWER!!!!
My main is Jedi sentinel, and my secondary is Sith inquisitor
These guides are so damn good! why didn't i look these up years ago!! Thanks for the awsome content!!
Cheers!
I have played the game for a few years, and I would like to say that you explain the classes quite well. best of luck in future videos
Thanks SW! Nice to hear that from a veteran :)
Favorite Class is Mercenary, reason I love Mandalorians
Love Laura Bailey too!
LAURA BAILEY ACTS FOR THE JEDI KNIGHTS?? guess i'm switching to republic... lol
@@bumbard7695 Yeah she voices Kira Carson. :P
Best story IMO:
1. Imperial Agent
2. Sith Warrior
3. Bounty Hunter & Smuggler (super enjoyable if you play them as a "comic relief" character)
4. Jedi
5. Sith Inquisitor
6. Trooper (Some of the dialogue is solid, pretty genuine military stuff. Other is robotic "for the republic" drivel)
7. Jedi Consular
This game looks so great I hope they make it into a console version one day I just like old republic era anything that isn't empire and rebels era and first order era
Alright, well, I already liked your channel, but the sheer amount of dedication and information in this video..... dang. I am impressed.
I started playing again, this time as a ranged sith class i think (sorry iam a newbie who played a long time ago). The best thing about this game it really is the story... It's is just awesome and amazing experience... I found your youtube channel and i love it.. thank you for your work!!
Thanks Pickuppt!
I played all of them... And honestly Sith Warrior is the best. It shows how powerful the dark side is. Also it has alot of surprising moments and alot of great choices.
I'm surprised because I don't like most gaming channels but this one is very to the point
I would love Jedi Knight skilles with a Double bladed lightsaber or a sith assassin who uses two or one regulated lightsaber
thanks. because of you I now know what to pick
I totally agree the agent story was so great
Sith juggernaut looks awesome!
Just started playing and I have been looking for something like this. Thank you, answered a lot of my unspoken questions
Cheers!
Cheers for this game series! I joined the game recently and it's helping me a lot! 😁
welcome to the game!
@@Swtorista :)
Sniper/sorcerer for insane firepower. I'm not even kidding the enemies drop like flies
Enemies drop like flies on any class now. They have made most content very easy.
I just recently started playing this mmo and I'm loving it. The character I am currently playing is a commando trooper and I am really enjoying its story.
Welcome to the game Tanner! Troopers are probably my favourite class to play :)
My main character is a jedi knight (sentinel, watchman). I really like the story, just like the pvp!
I would honestly call the Sith Warrior story, a true sith story dealing with power leaps and sith betrayal
I think I'm gonna play a bounty hunter, dunno which advanced class but im leaning towards power-tech cause FIREEEE
Thank you for the video. Love it, about to play for the first time
Sith Juggernaut. I hardly ever died as this class/advanced spec and the story is very engaging.
I just finished a light side sith pureblood consular and it was amazing. I got 15 dark side points out of nowhere didn't even do anything lol
may I just say light focued sith warrior is a very interesting story
I really like that one.
Jedi Consular - Shadows
I've always been a Melee Tank type of player in RPGs. Jedi Defense Guardians and Sith Immortal Juggernauts are my forte. But like I said earlier, I do find Pyrotech BHs and Plasmatech Vanguards just fun to play as when I don't feel like Tanking or Healing.
My personal favorite is the bounty hunter specifically a powertech pyrotech bounty hunter, you get to set absolutely everything on fire combine that with my favorite class quests and you've got a match made by mandalore.
My first was Agent... made me paranoid in all the others. Such intrigue
incredibly high quality video.
I will look through most academia now even though i played swtor before, but i want to start new :D
Thanks Overmind! Hope you enjoy the rest of the Academy!
Sith Sorcerer-lightning discipline = Unlimited Power!!!
Finally a good class overview. The cute voice sold me on the thumbs up
I'm playin since beta but still I watch this vids cause I love this voice :)
I think playing the agent last is also a good idea since it ties all the stories together.
This. Very much this. A couple points in the agent story reference all the other stories.
the inquisitor story is intense tho
Over a year old and still replying to comments, gotta say that's certainly admirable
+Outer Insanity I'm still making videos a year later, and still enjoy seeing people ask questions or say thanks on the old ones!
Imperial Agent storyline is incredible writing.
I tried balancing out my 4 current free-to-play characters, 2 for each side of the force, one for every class. So I have a Sith Marauder, Jedi Shadow, Imperial Sniper, Vanguard Trooper...thus far I love them all
guie is short and in point but..... such a sweet relaxing voice.....
Plus they have double edged lightsabers, which are my favorite type of saber. ;)
the first 5 seconds seemed like ASMR. great/10
