In my experience, 1. Simplicity is sometimes harder to achieve than complexity. 2. I release anything I’ve composed that I would want to listen to objectively. 3. Almost always about half of listeners will enjoy what (I/you/any composer) creates and half will not.

Do you think sonota form is simple ? Do you use it ? For me, it can be as simple as your example. And also it gives contrast within the piece.

There's no such thing as 'too complex' or 'too simple' for me. Sting once said in an interview that 'the essence of all music is surprise'. He's right: the most interesting music out there is the kind that sets a certain tone, then periodically springs surprises onto the listener (in that respect, well done!). If I'm not surprised at all, I've stopped listening. :P Music should be made for music's sake, not to appease record labels and trends. Listeners will decide themselves if they like it, or not.

In general, people seem to be bored with complex music. Modern pop and hip-hop music progresses through very simple melodies or by playing a small portion of old music as samples. Because people who are not musicians cannot perceive and memorize complex chords anyway.
