It's just the result of reusing older animations. I mean, if look at a comparison of cutscenes in Yakuza Kiwami and the original PS2 Yakuza, you can see that Kiryu is nowhere near as expressive in Kiwami as he was in the original game.

First game that's featured Majima as a playable protag since Kiwami 2... and of course, out of all the songs they could've brought back with him, they brought back 'As Long as You're Happy'. Makoto is gonna show up to make us all cry a third time, I can feel it. Only RGG knows how crazy and convoluted it's gonna be this time, since it's been well over 30 years at this point... swiftly approaching 40 even.
The only real issue with this is that well, the one game where the idea would be reasonable to do, is the one where Majima loses his memory, so that could only happen if the memory loss plot gets thrown out the window at some point, or if it’s the final piece of the memory regain puzzle during the finale, because I don’t see how Majima could remember his past pre 0 unless Saejima appears

Apart from her being hated by fans. I hope the development team will one day clean up their relationship with Makoto and mirei. Her presence is a dark history of the series and a kind of taboo. Majima's character has been undermined and fans are still confused because of her uncomfortable relationship with her. It would be nice if the development team didn't mean that the VA of the supposed female villain in the pirate gaiden was the same as mirei park, but I think it would feel weird if majima's flashback element related to mirei exists in this work.
I think Makoto was really the only woman he loved with all of his heart, Mirei held a part of his heart but it's nothing compared to how much Makoto still holds even after 36 years.

It just occurred to me that we'll get a 24 hour Cinderella english dub.
The fact that “As Long As You’re Happy” is still a singable song just goes to show that despite Majima losing so much of his memory to the point he’s forgotten his own name, he still hasn’t forgotten about Makoto.
That just goes to show how much he cared about her.
I really hope they eventually add a song in full English so we can hear the VA’s absolutely blunder the pronunciation like how we in the west have been with their songs lol
