Love the sketch. It just goes to show that even experienced artists who are constantly thinking about proportions, distances, and angles still need to respect the marks they've made with pen and ink. Just because it's not completely accurate doesn't mean it can't look fantastic if it's drawn confidently and with intent.
I enjoyed this tutorial on a very good sketch you have done, I never realized how much better it is to draw in the people before the steps are added later, and I like the cloud effects how you can go back in and do touch ups on them by blotting, the proportion is very important in the beginning, i like how the colors contrast so well to each other, I love reference photos best to sketch.
You have such a playful style. Watching you draw and paint over the last few months has helped me realise again how fun art can be. Genuinely thank you!
Love it, especially the light and shadow on the building to the left. You make it look so easy! Mine always come out wonky, haphazard and muddy.I need to practice with the choices I make, I guess.
just wahoooo!! as a beginer I would never have tried to realise this sketch, but watching you drawing and painting, "so easily" step by step, explaining how and why at each step, gives everybody a chance to try with less fear.even if I'm sure the result cannot be similar as yours, it's worth trying. Thanks for sharing😊
Teoh, so glad to see you in Italy, home of my grandparents. So much to see. I’ve never been there, but would love to go. Great sketch. 🌴Plant City 🌴Florida 🌞
Absolutely gorgeous Teoh. It’s so impressive what you can achieve with just three colors. It gives me more drive and determination to simplify my own palette.
Thanks for another gest video! I had to rewind once just to watch you put in the shadows on the statue again. So satisfying!! Putting in dark values is one of my favorite parts of painting!
Hello Teoh, I think we are approaching your release schedule for another Book Review and I'd like to ask you you can find The Guild Handbook of Scientific Illustration by Elaine R. S. Hodges on you local library. It's kind of a niche book but since it's on the very expensive side, I think it would be great to have a review and flip though on youtube. Thanks for all the videos you've been releasing over the years. I'm saving up for a Huion 22 plus at the moment and I decided on that model because of your revew - and my budget - so Thank you very much!
That book is available at the local library here but it's a reference book that cannot be borrowed. And I've been caught/told by the librarian I can't record flip through videos in the library. Yes, I've tried that. :-P
@@teohyc 😭😭😭 So close yet so far! Thank you for trying! And fpr trying even harder trying to record flip through on the library itself. 😂 If ypu find it's worth your time to check it up, any information you could get me about it will be useful. It's very expensive on amazon and I don't live in the US, so even more expensive here in Brazil. I've learned about it through a illustrator that I respect saying it's an amazing book but nothing but it. Not really informative. So I'm really curious but can't invest that much money in a blind shot. Thank you in advance for anything that you could get me. 😅
@@teohyc I'm trying to become. But I just found the 1989 edition of the book on the Internet Archive. So you don't need to go out of your way for me. Thank your for being so helpful as you always are!
@@teohyc I actually am using one of Noodler's blacks (Heart of Darkness), but it's not quite as waterproof as I'd wish. I'll try the Bulletproof one. Thank you very much for your answer. By the way, I live in the neighbourhood where this sketching video was taken. I sometimes go to drawing classes in Santa Croce :)
@@thenosesdotcom Noodler's Bulletproof Black takes a very long time to dry, and on some paper it may not be waterproof. Look for Sailor KiwaGuro, Platinum Carbon Black, or SketchINK instead which are all better.
I have a question about digital pencils. Assuming I may ask her, my Apple pencil (1st version) has died apparently from a battery failure. I didn't even know this could happen. it is about 3 years old and I used it with an iPadPro and an iPad 18 (the cheaper one). I don't want to buy a new one at $100 CAD (or whatever it is). So, would you please recommend a less expensive stylus/pencil that would work on my iPads? Many thanks.

Your painting is far better looking and more vibrant than the photo.
Really very interesting to watch the whole process! Thanks for sharing! The whole sketch is wonderful!
So fun to watch this video.
Thank you!
One of the sketch I like the most out of your collection. Great tutorial!
This turned out great , getting all the proportions is something I struggle with , thank you for sharing 😊
Beautiful! I always love how you mix colors on the paper. The effect is very nice!
amazing sketch, I love the color palette!

after so long saw a full sketch! splendid!
Gorgeous, I love this sketch. A little biased because I love Italy and Florence in particular, but I do think this sketch turned out great.

I really love the limited color palette that you chose for this painting! Very lovely :)

It’s beautiful!
I love the little bit of light on the left building! Quick question, is that just regular tape you used on the borders?
This was so helpful, thank you for sharing!
Brilliant!
Nice result. Thx for vid. :)
Wow, this picture really is amazing! You have a lot of talent!

Wonderful! Question: how do you avoid the fountain pen ink blotting when you get close with the wet brush?
Just use waterproof fountain pen ink. Here are some options www.parkablogs.com/content/waterproof-fountain-pen-inks-drawing

Nice painting. What brush did you use?
Silver Black Velvet

Scotch matte tape

Can I ask what tripod you used to film this overhead video? My dslr tripod is taking a huge space on my desk
I use a Velbon tripod with twist locks. It's a standard size tripod, not a table top tripod. See this video ua-cam.com/video/Wuuwx9spHRU/v-deo.html

Look at Adonit stylus. But Apple Pencil performance is still noticeably better than Adonit
