Love the tip about using your thumb as the vanishing point. Great way to do 2 things at once.
your watercolor landscapes are always very beautiful to watch as well as inspiring. I tend to look up to you as an artist, I find both watercolor and landscape both pretty tricky for me to do, but seeing your technique really inspires me to give it one more shot! I love these videos, thank you for making them:)
I love the free way you draw and paint. It is inspiring to someone like me who tends to become too tight. You have taught me a lot just by watching. Thank you,
Wow I get insight & inspiration from your video. I love you when I called "object hunting" reminds me when before pandemic activity. Then you sketch on the spot & do watercolor painting, just so awesome sir! Anyway I missed walking around by foot in Singapura.. nice to know you 🤝
I so admire your sketching skills. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful! And the fact that you can do that with your book balanced on your knees is a talent in and of its self! Thanks for sharing this😊
Another fantastic video! Thank you for taking the time to record this, as well as explain what you are doing in mostly in real time. I am impressed that you can sketch and talk at the same time! That’s a difficult skill I haven’t mastered yet. It is always inspiring to watch you work. The sketch came out wonderful and vibrant! You really captured the scene!
Truly, a very difficult skill to tackle!
Hey Teoh! Your videos never fail to make me happy and very calm! Thank you so much for all the great content over the years. Keep it up, every video is helping someone somewhere :)
AHHH U SKATE?! How cool!!
Love the vibrant colors.
Love your sketch, looking forward to more, TFS.
Another great tutorial! I just love your style of painting and recording so much. Thanks for all you do Teoh!
Great job as usual Teoh! Thanks for sharing! Looks great!
Fantastic as always.
A very colorful place to paint
I just love watching other creators! ✨ I really like the sketch in the beginning! Hope to improve my skills to inspire others too like you do 💕
Thank you for sharing so much! I'm new to urban sketching and I'm really enjoying your work and finding it very helpful.
I love all the videos you upload! And I really appreciate the tutorials you post. Thank you Teoh :)
Wow! I love watching your drawings on location 👍brilliant work!
Always a relaxing and meditative session for artists.
Beautiful!
Very nice location and composition. The Colors are vibrant as always ! Can’t wait to see the methodist church sketch. Thanks to bring us with you on your skate.
wowww!! meraviglioso!! complimenti sei davvero bravissimo e veloce!
So amazing
I love your sketches!💕
Wonderful video, and wonderful painting ! X🤘🏻X
Beautiful
Your inking is amazingly awesome
Brilliant artwork. Love your art vlog and awesome sketch. Thanks for the tips as well. New friend here.
So nice!!
so nice
Another very nice and quiet video which give calm and pleasure to see Parka. Thank you for sharing 🤝
Fantastic
Nice Teoh. Good to be back outdoors. You moderated well and the sound was excellent. Thanks for sharing.
Good stuff! Thanks for recording this in English for us language challenged folks.
I am waiting for the next part. it is really cool
Wow! so nice!! I like your sketch!!
Well done...
good one, keep posting videos.
Thanks for showing parts of Singapore.
Gơod job Teoh
Great vid
I LOVE the way you did the sky/clouds on this. Any chance you could give a detailed demo of that?
This is a very good sketch. Real watercolor is just amazing. I have tried all digital watercolor software in the world but nothing comes close to real watercolor.
That wide angle distortion is very easy to fix in post. Capture one, Photoshop, lightroom, etc
For anyone watching, it may help you sketch easier
I really need to look up more pictures to sketch out so I can TRY and have a good loose style like this
Thankyou maybe someday come here to disney world lol, seems like a lot of challenging sketches
nice touch-skateboard as a seat
Thanks for this wonderful tutorial! What are the colors that you are using in this limited palette??
Azo Yellow, some warm red, Cobalt Blue Deep, Phthalo Blue GS and Raw Sienna (or Yellow Ochre not sure).
Thanks so much! Would try to copy! You motivate people across the globe! 🙏
Great control of the water in this one. Love the mop brushes but sometimes the water gets away from me.
Early birds gang here 😂
I've always wondered which ink Teoh uses in his fountain pen. Is it Noodler's Bulletproof Black? Any other waterproof ink, such as Indian Ink, would clog the pen. Does anyone know for certain?
I just found Teoh's reply to the same question below. It's "SketchINK" by Rohrer and Klingner.
You can see my other recommendations here www.parkablogs.com/content/waterproof-fountain-pen-inks-drawing
this is really cool! I love little places built in different cities that depict another place, very impressive, Im always inspired by your drawings Teoh,, we have a china town in our city thats been there for many years, plus some different places have really neat places to dine out that are built like places in china and other countries,, what fountain pen are you using in this sketcher?

Hey Teoh, great vid! I was wondering how you film the painting shots since I can see both your hands in the frame?! I’ve been filming some similar videos myself but I find filming myself painting outside a huge challenge! Keep up the great work 😊
The phone was mounted on a tripod (shown in 00:02 for a split second on the left side).
@@teohyc thank you! 🥰
The places shown here in this video look soooo much more clean than anywhere in my country. Like it almost looks like a movie set or stage set because of how clean the roads look.
Its so hard to "urban sketch" anywhere where im from because theres nowhere clean to sit, theres many people and pollution around, and sometimes people will obviously hover over your shoulder as you work and its very distracting for me. Theres also the threat of people stealing your things as you draw 😅
Singapore streets are quite clean. But it's better to bring a small portable lightweight stool that allows you to sit anywhere. Sometimes you want to sit under the shade but the place is dirty and that's where the stool is useful.
This is awesome. Thanks for sharing... May I kindly know what are you using to film this? Just a normal cellphone? Or go-pro ? Coz everytime I try to film my outdoor drawing it's always shaky😅
I'm using my iPhone. The shaky footage are handheld. Stable footage are with the iPhone on a tripod.
@@teohyc Thank you so much
Hi Teoh, you are the reason of my new sketchbook and restarting watercolour. How could I send you my sketches? Thank you so much.
Excellent 😍 i would like to know where did you buy the water container??
You can find it on eBay ebay.us/Cmixi0
May I ask which sketchbook and brush you are using 🌟 ? Thanks for this great tutorial !
It's a custom made sketchbook from instagram.com/amonostudio/?hl=en
Teoh Yi Chie Thank you for taking the time to answer.
Hi @Teoh Yi Chie, what's the brand of your pocket watercolor palette? Thanks in advance!
Micro Portable Painter
@@teohyc Thank you!
Yay im early
Lovely. Do you ever regret adding details and touching up later? Also, can you do a video on your six watercolor choices? My apologies if you’ve already explained it in a previous video.
Regret? Why?
@@teohyc I sometimes question whether my work needs more or not. It often happens that leaving out detail is more evocative.
@@bucketofbarnacles If you don't know whether you should add more details, you can probably leave the details out. The sketch ends when you don't know what else to add
When you're urban sketching, is it a good idea to bring a stool or folding chair? or do you guys just find a nook?
It's very good idea to bring a stool or folding chair. That way you can sit anywhere you want.
What is the nib size you use on the fountain pen??
F nib
what size brush did you use? is it #10 or #12?
8 or 10
what black ink are you using in that fountain pen?
SketchINK
What ink do you use for your fountain pen? It is waterproof/resistant.
SketchInk www.parkablogs.com/content/review-sketchink-waterproof-fountain-pen-ink-rohrer-and-klingner
What kind of paper are you using ...what type of journal is that brand
It’s a custom made sketchbook from a friend. Paper is Arches
How long that you sketch on location?
For this piece probably 2 hours
Which ink do you use with your fountain pen?
I’m pretty sure he uses SketchINK in the colour Lotte
SketchINK
Thanks!
Hi Teoh! Just curious what kind of skateboard do you ride?
Landyachtz Rally Cat. Used to use electric skateboards but that has been banned in Singapore
@@teohyc Ooo nice! Landyachtz are good boards. I ride a Sector 9. I didn't know electric skateboards were banned, that's unfortunate.. I guess it keeps you pushin🤘
Teoh what's the brush size?
That's size 8
@@teohyc Shukriya!
How do you digitalise your sketches?
I scan with a scanner
@@teohyc thank you for your reply but is this scanning good enough for book publishing?
@@junc2191 It's good enough
@@teohontech7141 do you offer courses on sketching? I drew sth but I don’t have the skill to improve my drawing.
You mentioned the pen, but not the ink. I need more info on permanent ink for fountain pens.... you could help.
I'm using SketchINK
@@teohyc Thank you for your quick response on this. I appreciate your work on youtube. If you ever come to Venice, Italy, look me up, I will take you to the choicest sketching places, and feed you real Venetian food. ciao
Thanks, Teo. Great tutorial! What’s the cute little palette?
@@palomaa6883 That's Micro Portable Painter palette
@@davelester1985 Wow. Venice, nice! Do you live near the very touristy part?
You say, "Hopefully the audio quality for today's video will be better." I remember you had a Sennheiser microphone and transmitter set. Something high end. That sounds much more professional and reliable to me than Saramonic. Why not just use your Sennheiser equipment?
The Sennheiser has to go with the much heavier mirrorless camera. I'm trying to keep my setup light.
So how's does audio quality, for the outdoor segment, in this video sound to you?
@@teohyc Sound quality: not bad, intelligible, you have to 'fight' a bit with the background noise. Usually your videos sound better. But it's not entirely fair to judge when you have to talk through a mouth mask. The sound is certainly better than the Madras-Dunlop video. The beauty of investing in professional sound equipment is that it usually lasts long: longer than your chair, video camera or art supplies. :-)
I don’t know how you can do that.
