Thanks for the video. Now I have to find out what else I have to change to use these in my trailer.
Looking forward to seeing your project!
Good video on the Power Queen, I just pulled the trigger and ordered 2 of the power Queen Premium 100ah Batteries I here they don't call them premium for nothing I will find out! Thank's for sharing the video and info on The Power Queen sale.
I recently got the power queen 100ah self heating
Purchased two for solar, great so far, one year.
What a great video! Thank you
Just got 3 batteries on ebay for 192 each shipping free...yes it is the best battery available right now. Thanks for the video. ;)
Thanks for this review. Been watching a lot of the reviews on the Power Queen. Everyone is giving them high marks.
hi, in low budget, wich is a better option, li time, power queen, chins or weize? thanks, regards.
Looking forward to seeing your solar project. I have been looking into sizing a system, and a desire for a dual induction cooktop means I need minimum 2000W, meaning I need to go with minimum 200Ah, or move up to a 24V system, which I’d prefer not to do if I don’t need to.
I’m
I from South East Asia, we buy directly from CATL China, extremely cheap, good quality, latest technology, high AH & compact in size.
As of today, 1/3/23, timeusb appears to have the best value out there.
THEIR battery, also, appears to be quality
This looks like a great option for my electric trolling motor!
Does Power Queen have also app for battery monitoring?
Though my inverter went bad till I tried my agm battery on it and it worked its the power queen battery problem
I'm trying to run a inverter too can you explain more.
Trying to run 2 100ah with a 1200w inverter. You think it will work or should I go agm
I just ordered one from Amazon with a low temperature shutoff.
About $250 with tax and free shipping.
Thanks for video but unfortunately thier website is useless and immediately put me off them. It offered an online chat service but it didn't work. I tried 3 times over 2 days after refreshing but to still no avail.
Battery nerds are so cool for some reason. Thanks for the review. I'm feeling like this is a better buy than the Dakota Lithium equivalent.
LOL...I'm sure my kids would disagree...unless you were being sarcastic, in which case they'd completely agree. haha
I'm slowly replacing the old deep cycle lead acid batteries of my solar system with Power queen plus 200 ah batteries. They are a little pricey at $669 each but I've been buying the slightly used returns for around $550 ea directly from power queen. I keep them charged and never fall under 60% so I expect to get ten years out of them. I expect the grid to fail here in California so getting prepared for the worse here this summer.
Nice! And you should easily get more than 10 years from them if you're not discharging past 60%!
@@ReeWrayOutdoors Thanks. Quick question: I'm using a 20 amp LIfePO4 charger when solar isn't available at times. It can be pretty slow charging this way. I have a 2nd one that can be placed on another battery all hooked in parallel. Are you aware of any issues using two chargers at the same time?
Hey Phil, I show them as costing $299 from Amazon right now. Makes them much better value vs. conventional sealed lead acid, deep cycle batteries.
Good for you for doing reasonable things to prepare for probable grid down in Cali!
@@philc.9280 Should be ok, as long as the combined current of both chargers doesn't exceed the BMS's max charge current rating (which is typically at least 50A) and they're both spec'd the same way to ensure both batteries are being charged the same way.
@@ColoGrayWolf those are 100 ah batteries for $299. Mine are 200 ah plus for $600. Thanks
@ReeWray Outdoors, I think you said Lithium ION several times, instead of Lithium IRON
LiFePO4 are Li ion batteries. All rechargeable Li batteries use LI ions to generate electricity.
Hello I have no experience at all in electricity. I appreciate you making this video. My wife works from home my intention was to get one of these batteries to run the modem and a 43-inch television which is her monitor for three or four hours if we have a power failure. I was also thinking that maybe using it electronic trolling motor for a raft. I would probably get two of these and put them in line. That way I could combine them for the raft or I could separate them as my communications are in the basement and my wife works in her office on the first floor this allows me to have one battery in two places. I also currently own a 2000 watt inverter that I bought from Harbor Freight that has two AC Outlets. Do you think that will do the job and how do I calculate the wattage being drawn from a house Appliance and how long a battery would last
I actually did a video on how to figure that out. Hopefully this helps you: ua-cam.com/video/nGG0Hnv9p50/v-deo.html
Cool channel.
I’m trying to find a battery to camp with that will run a cpap for 2-3 nights (8 hrs a night).
The cpap is rated at 3.31 current draw at 12V DC (amps).
Do you have any recommendations for a battery dedicated to that purpose?
Thanks!
So that's about 40W per hour...x 8 hours = 320Wh x 3 nights = 960Wh. So you'd want something in tht rated 1200Wh (or more) range, when you factor in the typical usable capacity of around 82%. This is an excellent option if a relatively slow solar charge speed doesn't bother you: amzn.to/446tG3U. It also has an expansion battery option if you ever need to add capacity. The next level up would be the Pecron E2000LFP - a fair amount bigger, but better solar charging options (if you need that) and battery expansion options. amzn.to/43OJtEl I have reviews on both of these units if you want to hunt them down. If you're just looking for a LFP battery, I think any of the 100Ah 12V options from Power Queen, Li Time or Timeusb would be excellent budget-priced options.
Thanks for taking the time to make such a detailed and informative reply!
The web site gives the application for the battery across many applications including boat use, would the IP rating give protection against salt water as the manual doesn't say.
I'm not an expert in salt water applications, but the ABS plastic housing is completely sealed and they terminal sockets are epoxied in and sealed. So really the only thing that I can see that could be affected by salt water is the terminals themselves, and I wouldn't think they'd be any more vulnerable than any other battery option.
Would soil heating pads designed to warm containers of germinating media in cool spring environs be sufficient to keep battery warm in cold temps?
possibly, but there are a lot of variables involved...like is there any insulation in the battery compartment, what is actual ambient temperature, whether or not you are actively discharging and/or charging the battery (as these actions generate heat on their own). So...could certainly help...but hard to say to what extent.
Thx great video!
Do you think this battery works for my air blower which required 1200 watts.
I am looking about 10-20 min on off operation for cleaning my car’s surfaces.
Yeah, 1200W is right at its rated 1280W continous output rating (100A @ 12.8V), and it should give about 1 hour of continuous 1200W output, if that'll work for you.
@@ReeWrayOutdoors thanks for reply!
What do you think of this?
I asked the other guy online ...he was saying 1200watts are very cross to the limits of battery energy and he said to me go for 125ah or 150ah battery. Since my budget is tight so but meantime I do not want to make wrong choices. So far I have no plan to use higher than 1200 watts appliances.
Do you think 100ah batter is fine?
Always buy more battery than spec. You’ll be surprised how quickly they die , and the life of the battery will decline rapidly if you take it down to near 100% if you want to use it between 80 and 20%, which is a lot less time than you’re figuring in your calculation
I bought the POWERQUEEN 200Ah Plus and it failed on the first day. Their company still hasn't refunded my money or sent a replacement.

I’m not sure how to calculate the watt hours in a traditional lead acid battery. I have one that’s 31 DCX, MCA at 32°F 800, CCA at 0°F 650, and minutes @ 23 Amp 225. How would this compare? It’s what I have in my tent trailer and I would consider replacing it with one of these.
Hi Keith, SLA car batteries can deliver much higher amps for short bursts than the typical Lithium chemistries - which is why they're generally better suited for engine starting applications - and that's also why you see ratings like MCA (max cranking amps) and CCA (Cold cranking amps), with these ratings typically being for very short duration like 30 seconds. The average SLA car battery is rated for about 50Ah when used for basic (non-cranking) power applications. Note that you CAN get more than 50Ah out of them, but the SLA battery life will be significantly reduced if you discharge past 50%...hence the 50Ah rating vs 100Ah. So take 50Ah x 12.8V and you get 640Wh. I hope that helps! :)
@@ReeWrayOutdoors thank you very much! I had no idea how to estimate that. I did know that lithium could go down further than the lead acid, even with a deep cycle, but I wasn’t sure how to compare them. I do know I have to change the lead acid every couple years, so it’s probably worthwhile for me to invest in a lifpo4 if I’m going to keep the tent trailer.
The company "Power Queen" treats its customers very badly. I bought a 25.6V 100Ah battery for $685. After 3 months, they gave me $100 back. I lost $585. I have all the paperwork.
There is not enough detail on your negative comment. What happened? Please elaborate thanks 1:54

I ordered 2x of these 100Ah battery Powerqueen. I'm will be using them with my 2 EpEver mppt, Tracer4210AN
in parallel, to charge the batteries, also in parallel.
Do you know if I can just use the build in Lipo4 programming or do I need to buy that supplement module to change the settings under user ?
I'm not super familiar with these specific CC's, but typically you're quite safe to just use the stock settings they have for LiFePO4 batteries. The User settings will give you the ability to fine-tune certain parameters if you know what you're doing, but it's not typically really necessary to do that, in most cases.
@ReeWray Outdoors A pity you need to buy an additional part to be able to change settings !!, more over that you are not much more with it afterwards. :-(
How do you really know if this battery has grade A cells if you don't open it to inspect?
You don't. Same goes for trusting low temperature disconnect without testing it. These issues were enough for me to get my battery from EG4 instead of power queen
Hi I keep hearing about low temperature. Can you keep it in the garage in storage not used over the winter? It can possibly on rare occasions get down to maybe 25F in the garage
Yeah storing them in cold is not a real problem, generally. In fact to an extent it actually prolongs their service life. You can even discharge them safely in freezing temps in many cases. But the concern is CHARGING while the battery is frozen. That will damage the cells.
@@ReeWrayOutdoors thank you very much!
Do they need to be ventilated or can they be stored in a waterproof box in my kayak? Thanks
Don't need to be vented and can be sealed off.
Can you offer your expertise? I bought a LiPower 100Ah Lifep04 on amazon, and upom arrival it showed 13.1v and when i put on charger, the charger says it's full at 13.2v a few seconds later. Another charger also said same thing. Shouldnt it arrive partially charged and then full charge be something around 13.4 and up?
Yeah definitely should have a full resting charge of 13.4 or higher. Is your charger designed for LFP batteries? These need to be charged at 14.4-14.6V to maximize capacity.
@@ReeWrayOutdoors yeah both have that capability. So this basically means one of the cells could be defective? Its literally brand new and can't return it, had to email the Chinese company Li power.
Why buy the new Smart version over the non smart ? Certainly when 100,ooEur difference. And makes it sense when putting two in parallel ?
yeah, the extra cost of the 'Smart' version is a little hard to justify unless you need low-temp cut-off and find the on/off button particularly useful options.
And ... Smart :-) LOL these days they use the term for about everything. Here not even Bluetooth
Just checking to see if you or anyone in your group ever heard of a solar generator by a company called evergear up here in Canada with our lower dollar and sky-high shipping it's on-sale at princess auto 2000 watt pure sine wave inverter with 2264 watt hr battery capacity for 2299.99 and a extra battery capacity doubling the watt hrs capacity for 1199.99 pick up in store I've tried to find specs online but can only find a dealer that sells them wholesale in orders of 500 for under 300 so mark up on these power units is high thanks in advance for any help
think you may be quoting IP67, as IP65 is water resistant non-submersible, and IP67 is 1 meter, 30 minute submerged
I think you're right! After reading information from different sources, it seems clear that the source I used was incorrect (www.trustedreviews.com/explainer/what-is-ip65-water-resistance%E2%80%8D-4253905 )
@@ReeWrayOutdoors nice review!, and as far as incorrect source material on the internet presented as fact, I feel ya. I do some reviews and I hate the checking, cross-checking, and headache when I come across a claim or standard I'm not 100% sure of. Thankfully IP ratings are an international code and you can find the organization if you dig deep. And while I view a lot of wiki as weather reports (always subject to change and still wrong or incomplete half the time) they did get this table correct on the IP ratings
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_code
Where can i get your discharge tester from?
This is the one I've been using. It says "150W" but I can get 180W out of it- which still doesn't quite get me to 0.2C on a 100Ah battery, but....it serves my purposes well enough. amzn.to/3gT9wWS
do u have a link of the voltage meter?
amzn.to/3G4f7DX
No low temperature charging protection correct?
Not on this particular model, correct.
Any reason why it couldn't be used in a boat for trolling motor?
Nope! Would be great for an electric trolling motor.
@@ReeWrayOutdoors good for high end fish finders, livescope ect ?
@@stevoky would recommend a separate battery for your fish finder as the frequencies will mess it up if you hook the to the same battery
👌👍❤️🇨🇦, gr8 review, Power Queen is making their mark
For extra $59 dollars on a 50Ah I would hope they would be better. Bought a CHINS 50Ah and compared price same thing but a power queen and
the cost for the queen was $59 dollars more than CHINS.
Do you think this battery would be good for a trolling motor 12v 55lb thrust that draws 50 amps?
it's got a max rated continuous discharge of 100A, so yeah, should be fine for that.
These battery are now only $25 more than the Group 24 AGM for my boat. Theres no reason to buy AGM anymore.
👍👍👍
By the way as of July 2023 you cannot get this battery for under $300
Better buy them now before they get bought out and get cheap with their manufacturing.
I really wish people would stop calling these “drop in replacement batteries“. They do not drop in your vehicle and start your motor. Lithium iron phosphate is not a battery type for starting. So please specify that. Questions arise around this topic all over Amazon and people are buying them for that purpose so stop calling it that , it’s a Storage Battery, which can be used on trolling motors too it’s not for internal combustion motor starting and I wish people would stress that.
fair point! I'll try and hit that point the next time. :)
Well, it drops into my solar generator battery box just fine.
300$ in US or 480€ in EU. EU prices are total ripoff
Yikes! Wow, that's a big difference!
What battery do you recommend in EU for the same price and same capacity?
Yes but the EU version have a low temperature cut off !!
