Great video. I was looking for this comparison. Both sound great but I prefer eliminators for my Heritage; I want deep sound when iddle and cruising (better for headaches :- )... and a deep loud roar just when accelerating. I don’t think you can get them for the sport glide as the standard front half of the pipe is 2 into 1, if you want 2 into 2 you’d need to change the full system of you can get slip ons but it’s just 1 slip on. I recommend tab performance for the sport glide

On the twin slash slip ons - Is it possible to use the harley factory heat shields for these slip on exhaust? I have a 2021 Street Bob and deciding on a Slip On exhaust, but hoping to retain my stock heat shield for pipes...nice sound on both your bikes!
I bought some V&H Twin Slash from an LRS 114. I have an LRS 117 (Euro5), my surprise was to see a Lambda probe in the stock muffler? Has anyone encountered the same problem? Any solution? Thank you so much.

I find the eliminator 300 annoying to the rider. Loud drone reverberating on the highway. Will try the quiet kit and see if it works but otherwise will go back to stock pipes.
As an update, some clown had unwrapped one baffle during the install, hence the reverberation. I unwrapped the other one and fitted quieter baffle ends. Now it’s not like driving a diesel coal train :)
I think the 300s give a more throaty sound throughout the rev range. The 400s sounds a little scratchy at higher speed and rev. They both sound good at idle. Loud, isn't so much a thing to me as rumble. I'm not always looking to get pulled over and ticketed. I've got outbound slashed slipons on my t100 and they are plenty loud and throaty. Thanks guys,
Both sound good to me but if I had to choose one it'd be the 300's, just. 👍 I wouldn't be offended by either of them unlike those poxy little 2 stroke scooters with the baffles removed that make your ears bleed and annoy the living shite out of everybody!
I think I like the eliminators better but the stock HD sound is pretty old these engines need some cams and some higher compression to wake up the motor and the exhaust
for those who don't know how loud they really are ...maybe it's Just me but i would really recommend you some quiet bufflers. i have got the eliminators on my 2020 street bob and its waaay to loud for the City ... even in low rpm. But the Video it self is very good. Love your Work and keep on 👍.
They both sound great. I love me a loud exhaust, some people don't get it and say it just attracts attention to you for no reason but I always remind them that's the point though. People know you're there. I need me a camera man to take a picture of me in the tshirt I got from you guys, hard to get one by yourself. Good video as always.
The 300 is too quiet. I got real bored real fast riding my fatboy with these exhaust. As it is the new M8s are already boring and colourless(my personal opinion). I would probably advice someone to get the twin slash.
Thank you, this is probably the best comparison video I have seen for slip-ons. Every single type of scenario you could think of, you recorded. Thank you. I was leaning towards the Vance and Hines for my heritage classic just because I have V&H on my Sportster and I like the sound. Watching this video, I absolutely love the sound of the V&H!
Both sound awesome Mr D but I'm sorry, those Eliminators are ona different level. There's just more of everything. I don't just mean volume, I mean definition. The bass grabs you by the balls and the high notes go right down your spine. This could be the displacement difference and the fact your bike has an A2 tune but from this it's the Eliminators I'd have when I order my own bike.
I can see you have a standard air filter, I'm assuming you haven't added a stage 1 tune. Does it run ok? Plus do you think it voids the warranty? Are you planning an air filter and stage 1? Be great to know as I'm thinking of updating my Slim 😁
If/when we get the Livewire 1 over here it's got more range and an IMU at a much lower price than the HD Livewire so I'm actually intrested. As much as I love loud pipes I've admitted defeat. The future is electric whether we like it or not.
@@gerardmontgomery280 I agree. When you take a look at the Goldwing automatic and how easy it is to ride, I can only imagine an electric bike is in a league of its own.
I was looking at the eliminator 400 for my road king speical but ended up with the titan 450 purely for the overall size of them to fill out the space under the saddle bag. Love 90% of the H&V exhausts as they are great looking
The twin slash sound better all round imo, but the eliminators look better.. I like the look of the stock round pipes which are similar if not the same aesthetics of the eliminators, but yes, the twin slash sound better!
Further to this, I was hoping the eliminators would sound better as you 'eliminate' the extra steps of placing heat shields on the mufflers themselves, which you have to do for the twin slash?
I listened to almost every modern pipe before I bought the Twin Slash. I love the ‘old skool’ Harley pop, and won’t blow your head off on a long ride. They won’t piss off anyone trying to have a conversation within a quarter of a mile, and they won’t break the bank, as they’re half as costly as these new modern cans with the low frequency fluff. The twin slash sound extra good behind my V&H Dresser Duals, a high flow intake, and a Wood TW222 Cam.
Looking at getting a Heritage and this really helped me out. Love the slash cut, but I have neighbors to think about. Also hearing your thoughts when your out on the road. I also like the sound you mentioned when firing up the slash cuts. Price may effect my choice but I think I’ll go with the 300 Eliminators….. great help guys thanks……Ride hard or stay home😎
I bought the eliminator for my 2021 street bob after seeing this video, sound great but when I put any of my full face helmets its sound way louder and bad with a continuous annoying white noise type sound. Has this happened to anybody, I really hate having to change back to stock because of this
Same here ... i put those in my 2020 street bob and i'm sorry to say this but they are waaaay too loud 😂 i just orderd me some quiet buffler and hopefully they get quietter
Sad to see the heritage go but watching this video I could see you gentlemen getting similar Harleys and them customizing them in your own view. Maybe the ole man would look at getting himself an street bob 114
The Eliminator’s sounds nicer, but it’s very marginal. Hope you guys can do more exhaust system comparison vids. I am curious how the V&H Mini grenades vs the V&H Big Radius sound f.e.
good test ,, the slash look better and have a open sound,,, the e 300 s are more street friendly if your careful on the gas,, good to point this out for riders living in built up areas...
Just got a 71plate HC (114) which is sitting with a stock exhaust, and liking the Eliminator 300 slip ons. Do you know whether they can just be installed to replace the factory ones, or does it need any adaptions done to compensate? Also, does it affect the warranty (as it's still under factory warranty for another 18 months)
Hi buddy, with it being a 71 plate, if you’re in the UK or Europe they put extra CO2 sensors in the rear as well as the front (this is not the same in America). So you would need to change the air filter and do a stage 1 tune whether it be diag 4 or Vance and Hines fuel pak 4. This tune turns the rear sensors off and means you can unplug them. In regards to warranty you’d have to check with the dealer but it shouldn’t void anything, Harley are very pro customisation.
Hey there @@MrDarcy-OlMan, so I went into my local HD dealership and , made some enquiries. They advised me any 'change to the powertrain' would void the HD warranty, unless the dealerhship fit the parts and do the tune-up, and I'd need a different filter, V&H 300's and Don Performance tune up. Quoted £1700 😳 Not a cheap option when all I was after was a sound improvement.

Thanks guys,
Thanks buddy 👍🏼 good points
The sound from the eliminators, to me, has a bit more bass to them….we have a winner😁
It does indeed
Both sound good to me but if I had to choose one it'd be the 300's, just. 👍 I wouldn't be offended by either of them unlike those poxy little 2 stroke scooters with the baffles removed that make your ears bleed and annoy the living shite out of everybody!
Haha yes 👍🏼
I really don't like slash pipes. I do like the house.
Thanks! Yes it’s a nice old place. Lots of work to do on it but getting there 👍🏼
I think I like the eliminators better but the stock HD sound is pretty old these engines need some cams and some higher compression to wake up the motor and the exhaust
Unfortunately the HD marketing department demands that their engines be made with stone age technology from now till pushrods become illegal.
Harley riders love it that way 😏
300's sound better...the slash cut sound too hollow.
Very good review! This helped me make my decision for my 22 Street Bob. Will be going with the twin slash slip ons! 🤘🏼
Please could you try to balance the sound levels out? I turned you up for the chat and got told off by my girlfriend when you started up your bike...
Haha just like in the metal! We wanted to keep an even sound level to allow the differences to be heard.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan that's fair enough! Would really need to hear them in person... 😉 When's the bike meet going to be?!
@@Sholly97 Indeed. We may do something when Covid is more under control 👍🏼
for those who don't know how loud they really are ...maybe it's Just me but i would really recommend you some quiet bufflers. i have got the eliminators on my 2020 street bob and its waaay to loud for the City ... even in low rpm. But the Video it self is very good. Love your Work and keep on 👍.
Thanks for your input buddy 💯👍🏼
Dads bike in my opinion sounds better deeper sound
Wearing headphones watching this video is awesome!
They both sound great. I love me a loud exhaust, some people don't get it and say it just attracts attention to you for no reason but I always remind them that's the point though. People know you're there. I need me a camera man to take a picture of me in the tshirt I got from you guys, hard to get one by yourself. Good video as always.
Exactly that buddy, thank you! Thanks for buying a T-Shirt, really appreciate it!
Very informative and helped me make up my mind for slip ons for my 22 Heritage 114
Thank
The 300 is too quiet. I got real bored real fast riding my fatboy with these exhaust. As it is the new M8s are already boring and colourless(my personal opinion). I would probably advice someone to get the twin slash.
Ok thanks for the input 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you, this is probably the best comparison video I have seen for slip-ons. Every single type of scenario you could think of, you recorded. Thank you. I was leaning towards the Vance and Hines for my heritage classic just because I have V&H on my Sportster and I like the sound. Watching this video, I absolutely love the sound of the V&H!
Great video. Love the sound of the twin slash - do you have the V&H reference number as I want to get these for my 2021 FXST softail? Thanks
Thank you! I can’t remember now buddy, if you go on Vance and Hines website it will tell you the correct part number if you put you model and year in.
They definitely are a different sound altogether, I love both!
I can see you have a standard air filter, I'm assuming you haven't added a stage 1 tune. Does it run ok? Plus do you think it voids the warranty? Are you planning an air filter and stage 1? Be great to know as I'm thinking of updating my Slim 😁
You can do slip ons without doing a tune although it’s best to really 😊
😍 very nice! HD Livewire wasnt a succes and is not HD anymore, do you think the sound is a big reason?
It’s a super bike but Harley riders don’t want sports bikes. If they made it a cruiser, it would definitely be more successful.
If/when we get the Livewire 1 over here it's got more range and an IMU at a much lower price than the HD Livewire so I'm actually intrested. As much as I love loud pipes I've admitted defeat. The future is electric whether we like it or not.
Yes you’re right
@@gerardmontgomery280 I agree.
Yes good point 👍🏼👍🏼
The elimenater sounds soo mint
Yes it’s a noisy thing!
I think the 300s would be easier to live with the twins sound great 👍 nice review again lads thanks
Thanks buddy 👍🏼
What have they made you put on your bikes for number plates? Look more like taxiway marking signs for Heathrow Airport!
Yes the UK gov are thick as sh*t
The twin slash sound better all round imo, but the eliminators look better.. I like the look of the stock round pipes which are similar if not the same aesthetics of the eliminators, but yes, the twin slash sound better!
Further to this, I was hoping the eliminators would sound better as you 'eliminate' the extra steps of placing heat shields on the mufflers themselves, which you have to do for the twin slash?
It all comes as one. Both equally easy to fit.
Sounds awesome buddy, completely agree with your points there. They are a perfect all rounder
Both sound great, but I'd prefer the Eliminator
Cool 👍🏼
I bought the eliminator for my 2021 street bob after seeing this video, sound great but when I put any of my full face helmets its sound way louder and bad with a continuous annoying white noise type sound. Has this happened to anybody, I really hate having to change back to stock because of this
We’ve not noticed that 🤔
Same here ... i put those in my 2020 street bob and i'm sorry to say this but they are waaaay too loud 😂 i just orderd me some quiet buffler and hopefully they get quietter
They both sound great. ^-^
Indeed 👍🏼👍🏼
Brilliant vid keep it up lads
Thanks buddy 👍🏼
I know, one of each.
Yes 👍🏼 yes
Sad to see the heritage go but watching this video I could see you gentlemen getting similar Harleys and them customizing them in your own view. Maybe the ole man would look at getting himself an street bob 114
Yes but we needed a change tbh. Street Bob is a good possibility 👍🏼
The Eliminator’s sounds nicer, but it’s very marginal. Hope you guys can do more exhaust system comparison vids. I am curious how the V&H Mini grenades vs the V&H Big Radius sound f.e.
Thanks buddy. It’s not an easy topic to cover tbh
Both should fantastic but probably the slash is a bit better for me. Thanks guys!
Bye Stuart 🙂🏴
Indeed! 💯
great vid ...both sound great... now i know which ones i prefer...keep these vids coming there great...
Thanks Bob 👍🏼
Lovely jubilee
Cushdie
It's like saying, "Who passed wind ?" and "Who farted?" all the same !!!
Very loud farts!
good test ,, the slash look better and have a open sound,,, the e 300 s are more street friendly if your careful on the gas,, good to point this out for riders living in built up areas...
👍🏼👍🏼
Great review, right on with the sound.
Excellent comparison!! I went with the Eliminator 300s on my Fatboy. They sound Sooooooooo good
Excellent detailed review 👍
Thank you 👍🏼👍🏼
Just got a 71plate HC (114) which is sitting with a stock exhaust, and liking the Eliminator 300 slip ons.
Quoted £1700 😳
Not a cheap option when all I was after was a sound improvement.
It used to be cheaper but thanks to the EU rules etc, it’s not as simple as it was 👍🏼
